best folk duo there has ever been. they hit me like a fist full of plutonium when i stumbled onto them in 1997. thank you tyler for loving them as much as i
This sends chills through me. These guys just blow me away. So glad to find stuff like this on the internet, they are now among my favorite all-time singers.
TCM showed the movie 'Hootenanny Hoot (1/14/15) and after hearing them sing 'There's A Meeting' I just had to find more of their songs. They were unknown to me even though I love all kinds of music and watched every variety show on tv during their time together. This song is so moving. I've already listened to it more than 15 times in one sitting and looked up Phil Ochs ,who wrote it. I ordered their greatest hits off amazon. When I think of what passes for music & singing these days, compared to Joe & Eddie, I want to weep. The blend of their voices is amazing. I'm happy I watched that movie. Listening to Joe & Eddie's songs bring me comfort since I was down about the Christmas holidays being over. Thank goodness for those who upload them to youtube. I also found their versions of 'Children Go' ,' Mariah' and many more here. I'm going to play Phil's songs that are here also.
Just the best best best music ever. Loved these guys and this album in particular. Upload all the songs. This brings tears to my eyes. I wore this album out. I'm an acoustic bass player and I owe a lot to an early exposure to these guys. Such great music. OMG
These guys were wonderful, the music was wonderful, Phil Ochs was wonderful and the hope that we might do better as a society was wonderful. What the hell happened?
what the hell happened is, we didn't know who the enemy of change was, how powerful they were/are, how serious they were about silencing truth that would wake people up. it seemed pretty simple at the time. everything seemed a lot more simple.
I knew both these wonderfully talented men. I used to babysit their children. I still weep when I hear themsing, Scarlet Ribbons For her Hair. Elza Camacho
i got this album when it first came out, this and There is Meeting were the two big hits. 1964 or early 65, i got to see them in concert at Royce Hall, UCLA when i was 15. good times. i tried googling to see when they played there but it's too obscure.
they were pretty big, they came in as part of the folk wave, when folk reached the mass audience, with air play on Top 40 AM radio, they did several albums which sold and they did a lot of concerts, they were popular, they did repeated appearances on big TV shows like the Tonight Show, late night. The group sadly ended when Joe died in a car accident in 1966 on his way home from a gig.
Good cover, but it's unfortunate that nowhere in the video, video title or description there is no credit to Phil Ochs who was the person who wrote this song and sung it. If you're reading this, give a listen to Phil Ochs' original song (and his other songs) and I believe you may enjoy him. In my opinion, his talent rivals that of Bob Dylan and the world has been a sadder, less enlightened place since his suicide in 1976.

Still cherish the 3 albums by these fellas.. They were taken from us way too soon. The music lives on !
There are more than three albums . . . twice as many, as well a couple of "Best Ofs".
There are seven!!..used to give myself concerts while lying on the floor in disbelief about how good these guys were..

Big business sold us on the quest for comfort and convenience.

Phil Ochs is my hero. To stumble across this is just too great for words, just too much for words.
Wow! Haven't heard these guys for a long time! Thank you for having Joe and Eddie on RUclips.

I have never heard of these guys before I just stumbled upon there music. It is truly beautiful! Today’s musicians take notes!
My dad have a original cd with them and vinyls...... its awesome ^^
These guys are great. What became of them? With that vocal blend, they could and should've been big.

@@jaw444 Thanks. I never knew of these men. It's a huge loss to music that Joe was killed like that.
Fabulous and forgotten group.

I want to find the sheet music to this song.
I found a Phil Ochs songbook on Ebay. I purchased it and it arrives in a few days.
