Joe & Eddie, from the album Live In Hollywood
my parents had the Joe and Eddie greatest hits album when i was growing up. i loved it so much that, as an adult, i bought the cd and played it for my son and nephew. they both still love it and they are now adults themselves.
I love these guys
this is the most beautiful romantic song ive ever heard
About 40 years ol
I’m sure they sang Scarlet Ribbons but can’t find it anywhere. Not here. Not iTunes.
Great fun singing
So,so good. Thanks for uploading their wonderful music
FLAWLESS AS USUAL🙌🙌🙌
best folk duo there has ever been. they hit me like a fist full of plutonium when i stumbled onto them in 1997. thank you tyler for loving them as much as i
They were sure great, weren't they
Terrific version of a Fred Neil song.
Τι ωραίο; Υπέροχο
Love love love Joe and Eddie
I was raised on this album. My folks went to high school with Jo and Eddie..
One of the very first albums I ever owned. It was brand new, at the time. Just as good now as it was then.
Thanks for sharing. They are good, just not my kind of music.
A song by any other name still has the beautiful harmony of Joe and Eddie. Been listening to them for over 60 years and singing along, too.
I saw them at LA cc north hollywood in 1963 or64...bought their album...then tjere was roberta flack....but I never for Joe amd Eddy
This sends chills through me. These guys just blow me away. So glad to find stuff like this on the internet, they are now among my favorite all-time singers.
Impeccable! How I love their vinyl treasures and the ability to hear their invaluable harmony on them and on sites. They certainly left millions of people happy. 🎶
Was blessed to see them in a coffee house during my senior year of H. S. Have loved their music for the last 57yrs. No other harmonies can come close to these gentlemen.
A fan of nearly 60 years. Saw them in a club in Hermosa Beach CA. Got to meet them during a break. Wow 🤩
I want to find the sheet music to this song.
I found a Phil Ochs songbook on Ebay. I purchased it and it arrives in a few days.
Such a fantastic duo! Just love them.
and the flea said, "you're hurting me!!"
I love these guys. They were one of my favorites when I was in High School and college.
as this song was playing on the radio in 1964 and my parents got a call from the foster home that i was ready to be adopted, my father chose this song to name me. he's been gone now for 10 years but it still touches my heart after so many years. they were truly gifted singers and i am grateful that i got my name from this song.
Great song
They performed for my Senior Ball in San Jose, CA, at the Hawaiian Gardens in 1962. Awesome....
About 60 years ago, Joe and Eddie sang this song
This was such a fantastic duo! ❤️💜❤️💜
loved their harmony
This album was in my mother’s collection when I was a child. One of my favorite memories.
I first got this album in 1966 or '67. It was one of my top "go-to" musical stress management albums in those days. This is probably my favorite cut, but the whole thing is so good! I was so sad when Eddie was killed.
As Curtis Lineberry also says, the title of this song is "Ox Driver's Song."
These 2 went high school with my folks at Berkeley High School in California. Eddie was killed in a car accident right before they made it big. Very sad story . So talented and Eddie was always so silly.
Fabulous and forgotten group.
I have never heard of these guys before I just stumbled upon there music. It is truly beautiful! Today’s musicians take notes!
I never heard of them until 1998 but I feel they have been with me always. I've been moved to tears in awe more times than I'm comfortable admitting. If there isn't a documentary by Ken Burns about them I may be forced to do so myself. For years I dug for info and when I finally found it I was, and still am, devastated. My deceased best friend loved them as much as I.
Their music made the deepest impact on me as a young teenager. I have never forgotten them. I think it was the first time I fell in love..with music, and THEIR music. Thanks so much for preserving and sharing them here, with us.
😊
Absolutely beautiful!
Does anybody know the lyrics to this song? Or who wrote it? Anybody at all?

One of my all time favorites. Should have been a hit. Anything Jackie DeShannon had something to do with it was great. How did Joe Gilbert die so young? Only 25.
This song still makes me laugh!!!
Love this!
In 1964 I bought a 4 track tape for my car. I could only afford one tape and I bought Joe & Eddie "Walkin' down the line". I loved their harmony and their different take on some of the songs that were popular at the time. Eventually I bought other tapes but that was the only tape I ever wore out! Thank you so much for posting the videos.
Damn...imagine the lyrics including "And it 2018..."
Good cover, but it's unfortunate that nowhere in the video, video title or description there is no credit to Phil Ochs who was the person who wrote this song and sung it. If you're reading this, give a listen to Phil Ochs' original song (and his other songs) and I believe you may enjoy him. In my opinion, his talent rivals that of Bob Dylan and the world has been a sadder, less enlightened place since his suicide in 1976.
The name of this song is Ox Drivers Song...
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From a mad keen 74yo Aussie fan.
This is the version that inspired Roberta Flack to record it. It's nice, but I much prefer her arrangement, which is the only one that departs substantially from the original.
Agreed!
