- For much of the 1990s, Bill Nye was the beloved host of the "Bill Nye the Science Guy" TV show, educating a generation of children in the process. His latest series, The End Is Nye, is available to stream now on Peacock. But when Bill isn't enlightening the masses on a slew of scientific subjects, he's using his training to elevate his snacking game to astronomical new heights. From a dissertation on the evolutionary principles that go into enjoying a cherry Life Saver, to a special report on how snack companies achieve the "bliss point" when producing a bag of chips, Bill Nye breaks down the dos and don'ts for snacking like a science guy.

I love how most of these snacks are still reflective of Bill’s generation, but despite how “basic” most of the snacks are, he makes them so much fun. He truly is such a fun and energetic person.
I was born in 98 and these were all standard snacks in my home, especially the pecan sandies. How cool
@@Deimos480 I was almost 40 in 1998, and other than the Sun Chips (which I hate), all of these snacks were around in my childhood years.
Yeah this was literally a review of all the snacks we had in our drawer growing up, especially those Pecan Sandies. So so so good

This man has been entertaining me since I was like, 7 years old, and continues to today. I hope schools still show him on a VCR every now and then... it was a true treat and one I carried with me now into my 30s!
His old show was “transphobic” because he taught real biology
I remember my ninth grade teacher showed Bill Nye episodes on VHS. And I also remember his TV show on PBS (though I think there was one time FOX aired the show at 7 in the morning right before the Saturday morning cartoons to appease FCC rules about educational programs for kids).

Popcorn transcends generations. It's not old-fashioned.
And snacks taking people back to childhood does explain why there are petitions online to bring back discontinued snacks.
When I heard the cat sound with the broken glass, somehow, it brought me back to his science experiments where he would have those sound effects. So much nostalgia!

He is incredible. I’ve been watching him ever since I was little and I can’t even tell you how many things I’ve learned. He’s a legend and he’s gonna live forever.
I barely remember watching him but he does have great energy, enthusiasm and wholesome 90s dad humor.
He actually incorporates biological science in the speaking of his preferred snacks, so this guest definitely stands out compared to any other guests this season

Bill Nye is amazing. Watching him eat dried fruit brought back memories of watching him in school, and that one teacher who always had prunes to offer the kids who forgot their snacks lol.

It's not often I wish I grew up in America, but Bill Nye makes me wish he was my after school television.
My mind is blown that so many of these are also my favourites, made me feel validated somehow 😂 Classic Lays are my go to when I crave chips. They're the crispiest, saltiest, oiliest ones. I've been addicted to Sun Chips since I was a kid and that was the only flavour available. I always keep Orville extra butter microwavale popcorn packets in my cupboard. And though I've never seen Pecan Sandies where I live, it says shortbread on the package, and shortbreads are the best kind of cookie imo. Melt in your mouth goodness.

I was always told not to use olive oil. It doesnt heat fast enough and just burns. Use coconut oil! Coconut oil with beta carotene is what theater's use and add flavacol butter salt
