Not one that'll be one dimensional or pack their bags when things get tough. -Wardlaw and Goad is what North got for trading jhf and that's already proving a success. -aside from tanking being illegal to the game. Enter Mckercher who in the long haul will prove to be just as good as Reid consistently.
I've watched football for 60 years, since 2000 the 3 best players I have seen are Judd, Ablett (jun) and Bontempelli. Judd 2 brownlows, Ablett 2 brownlows (should have been 3), Bont 0 brownlows. Bont is absolutely fabulous and I really hope he wins the Brownlow this year. Bont's body of work of from 2016 until now is wonderful. He is one of the most impactful players I have ever seen. For the record, James Hird is my player of the 90's.

So basically the defensive overlapping is the old 3 man weave training drill until you clear it to an open position / gain territory so it’s not rebounded back in. It’s classic defensive mechanism which supports modern day hand ball as opposed to prior years boot the proverbial out of it to clear it lol. As Issac smith said not rocket surgery 😅

Not really, Essendon got torched by key forwards on repeat, and it meant that the undersized backs had to help each other too much and left loose opponents at ground level. It’s a reason Essendon has shown improvement this season because they’re not worried about trying to help Laverde when he’s guarding a giant.
