- Advanced Drawerganizers takes DIY Drawergainizing to the Next Level. A lot of viewers asked for a closer look at how I drawerganized all my files in the last video and, since your wish is my command, I produced this video to show you how. As a bonus I show, step by step, how to make two more Advanced Drawerganizer types that I hope all viewers find useful... enjoy!

The title of your RUclips channel is really appropriate. If something is worth doing then take a bit more time to do it better. Very encouraging and inspiring.
"hit the like button before the digital door hits you on the way out" lol ok you win man.
This is very cool. I like how you teach how to do this stuff step by step.
Awwww my OCD is very happy watching this
Outstanding vid and presentation! This is the life of a US Marine. Organization, neatness, and consistency! Semper Fi
Love this type of thoughtfulness in organization! You are a very smart guy!
Dis-drawerganized! Love it, Stealing it!
You are a very punny fellow.
I like it.👍👍
A great rainy day project for those of us with OCD & the ADA is a great club! Thanks.
“ADA”... Advanced Drawerganizer Association? 🤔 😉
File organization is awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Another great video that brings ideas to implement useful stuff at a very affordable cost. Thanks!
Great content! I always come away from your videos with more than a couple incredible ideas and tips.
Just wow! The possibilities... You have a ton of patience, but it turns out great when you put in the time. Thanks
Awesome, thanks for taking the time to share this with us.

VERY clever! Thanks for posting this and giving me a fighting chance against the clutter! :)
Great video! Love tool organization videos.
Thank you for the video and Guide, really helpful step by step explanation
A great idea. Thanks for sharing it.
You do really awesome projects, pal. You save us so much money. Thanks for all the effort.
Hey Matt,
Great job on the drawerganizers..you have very organized drawers 😉👍👍
Wow! I am loving this! Thank you!
But wait... there's MORE! ruclips.net/video/5VsWR2jYH6Y/видео.html
Enjoy?
Great organizing solutions!
Thanks.
Always a pleasure and most enjoyable to watch your videos Sir!! My wife told me the next person that lives here will think I had a lot of junk. I have shelves and drawers and organizers in every spare conceivable spot available...
Good drills! Proud to a member of the ADA.
Really enjoyed this. Thanks!
I better join the A.D.A. as I just finished identifying, sorting, and labeling bins for almost all of my machine screws, bolts, and nuts. Wood screws are the next phase, along with many odds and ends. Satisfaction replaces frustration now when I go to find a particular size screw. Thanks for showing your clever methods using vinyl fencing scraps. I have plenty of scrap plexiglass that can now be utilized for parts bins.
when a guy makes a file organizer for his files, you know he's pyramid level builder skilled...he lines up those angles with the constellations!
You KNOW it!! Open that file drawer on the summer solstice and their shadows cast the words "Tempus is Fugiting" across the floor of the shop! 😉🤣😎 Best, Matt
@@NextLevelCarpentry so, what's the best way way to hammer a nail with a drill when you're up many levels in an apartment building and your hammer is in the van parked miles away?
Your talent to come up with this is outstanding. I'm going to do my files like this. Seems easy enough that I could do it. I hate when tools are out of place and dirty. Thanks. God bless , stay safe .. 🇺🇸♥️🌹
For labeling the bins you could fold the electrical tape back on itself, leaving a bit to stick on the bin. Then have the folded part above the bin so you can still read it if the bin is full
It's so satisfying to see how just an idea got transformed into such a professional looking result. Thumbs up.
Now I guess I have to buy an organizer cabinet.
I keep wondering how I didn't think of this myself, Manfred... just goes to show the benefit of keeping an open mind and acting on inspiration. Thanks for providing it for this video... AND the benefit of the NLC shop! Best, Matt
@@NextLevelCarpentry Yeah, if one is busy thinking about one thing the mind easily misses alternatives. Happens, at least to me, all the time.
I wonder whether a stop on the miter saw could help to do consistent lengths on the pieces. Also a stop which locks into the previously cut slot so they become distanced out evenly. That could speed up cutting. You are using pencil marks where I thought you would use the fence resp. a stop. But in the end tiny differences don't matter since there is no registration with anything. Just needs to "look" consistent. Perhaps because I am coming from working with metal and models. There I always look to be exact down to 1/10th of a millimeter.
@@user-sm3xq5ob5d Definitely a host of ways to streamline, optimize and increase accuracy in this and any process. I like the way you think and your perspective on accuracy from the work you do. My standing theory on the matter is "if it takes a little work to make something a lot better, it's worth it. If it takes a lot of work to make it a little better, it's probably not worth it" This credo has served well as a guide in business and life... and for RUclips😁😎 Best, Matt
Nice elegant solution
Great video well done, definately going to do this now 👍
dayuuuuuuuum … I'm sold!
Thayyyyyunks! Much appreciated, Jim! Best, Matt
Very nice.
The greatest file drawer/holder I ever seen. And, I've tried a lot. You are the only person (besides my Dad) who used Copasetic. Nice.
I don't hear many people saying that either... wonder if I know your dad?😉
Awesome...thanks!
Finally an organization that won’t turn me down. Great org hacks.
ADA guarantees pre-qualification for all and every tier gets the same stellar benefits!
Great job! I have been a process engineer for years! This is right up my alley! The only drawback to detail drawer organization is space. Unless you have large cabinets it’s a challenge! But you have to find what is except able. I have also used small toolboxes for task options! But again that requires space! You can be successful if you manage your organizational space as well! Good luck!
Have though of wrapping tool holders? I think there is a commercial product which rolls up to a hexagonal shape. I have seen also wives making cushy file holders from old towels. Those you can put away in any drawer. Have a large "F" embroidered on it and you know which budle has the files.
one of the biggest challenges for me in the shop is organization. thanks for the tips on your project. i struggle with multiple open projects and not wanting to clean up/organize until finished ... i end up with multiple piles of tools and hardware in multiple places. doesn't seems like i'm going to change this pattern and still trying to figure out a good way to handle those situations better. right now i usually fill a bucket with the project tools and hardware and at least throw everything in the bucket when i'm finished for the day.
Bravo!
Matt.. Another great idea. I built a bunch of the organizers you showed in an earlier video (4&5in fence post for large screws or whatever). Looks like I'll be buying more fence post so I can build these. It's a great alternative to building a bunch of little drawers/boxes out of wood. Thanks.
Little drawers/boxes out of wood might look prettier but these are so much more practical IMHO... you're quite welcome, BTW. Best, Matt
Nice Job! Subscribed
You could glue the plastic labels and remove the bottom side, they can also be used as handles to pick the containers up...
I loved the organization and the use of vinyl tubing. I found a 5" square vinyl fence post at Lowes. ...8 feet long....$35... Too much for my shop budget! I still enjoyed the videos, and will continue watching.
Stalk a fence contractor or, if lucky like me, rescue cutoffs from neighbor’s fence installation…one small backyard enclosure yielded 4 ~3’ long scraps. Not too proud to scrounge… besides it’s the environmentally responsible thing to do 😀
YAAYYYY!! Ive always wanted membership in the ADA
LIke the file storage ... Seems perfect for dealing with various small tools for my electronics bench ... the current piece of wood with holes drilled in it isn't good enough.
I really like this idea for a drawer organizer... I just need a drawer cabinet whole the customization!
A masterclass in shop organization!
Was thinking of you when you mentioned a need to get files filed after the DIY Drawerganizer video. BTW if you need a supply of PVC Fencepost parts for your shop let me know and I'll fix you up! Best, Matt
Thank You for my membership in ADA .
Well I guess I'll go and pull up my drawers and tiedy my shoes.
LOL, Got that same pencil on my saw stations! They sell those by the dozen!
I do believe I have watched all the videos on Next Level Carpentry. I certainly learned a lot of handy techniques, some of which I have already used. Lots of cool toy....er....tools on the Influencer pages too. Those little machinist squares are just the treat for plumbing up baseboard on bad drywall! Thanks for taking the time to film. I'm looking forward to the next exciting adventure. Meanwhile, I'll see you over at the Digital Jobsite from time-to-time.
If you want to contact me through my website/email I'd be happy to send you a consolation prize for your achievement as I believe it's true... you done a LOT of watching here! Best, Matt
@@NextLevelCarpentry "Consolation prize"...That reminds me, I also appreciate the sense of humor at NLC. The time seems to pass quickly when I am having fun and I find that I have to step away once in a while from whatever I'm doing and watch a video. I'll be in touch, of course then you will have my actual name and contact info, which is Top Secret, privileged information . Then you can look me up on Linked In and see what a nerd I really am. :-)

I have been waiting for almost a year for your promised roller stand video, I even went to HF and bought a pair of roller stands
Thanks for your patience... I've been waiting about 5 years for that upgrade video.😥 Are you someone who has steel fabrication and welding capabilities or more a matter of curiosity? Best, Matt
@@NextLevelCarpentry No, old wood worker, but appreciate your skills and dedication to quality. I have a 25 X 35 two story barn workshop with the upstairs 8 tall X 16 wide X 35 long for storage, office, design. I have an elevator to lift things up and down from the attic.
I can do heavy woodworking, some metal, and all home handyman. What I don't have is a pair of those awesome roller stands
@@Paul-nt3qb one thing for sure is that those particular roller stands help me out with the heavy woodworking aspect of things. If you've got the ability to do some metal work in some welding you'll be fine but otherwise I think the video is mostly going to help people out by being able to show a metal fabricator how to make them and hire him for the actual build. Haven't decided which major projects to tackle next and it's between those roller stands a pair of Master carpenter saw horses or a master Carpenter footstool... all three exciting projects and ones that I promised it for quite some years so it's a little difficult to decide where to put my effort and priority...
@@NextLevelCarpentry Thanks, I vote roller stands. Be safe and blessed
Really like this project, thanks. BTW, you and James Wright need to collaborate on a "Dad Jokes" video. :)
This kind of stuff I love to make with 3d printers.
Do you have plans for them?
Great job. Perfect way to organized drawers with a consistent and professional look. Thanks for sharing. Curious is that a custom table saw insert?
Great video Matt! Just a suggestion, a full tour of both those big tool boxes might make for an interesting Patreon video
I can do that! I'll keep it in mind for when I have a content gap issue... easy to shoot video and possibly informative too?
@@NextLevelCarpentry yes very informative. Always helpful to see how others store their tools and other odds & ends.
Good stuff man. Thanks for sharing.
Taking resourcefulness & ingenuity to the Next Level... oddly satisfying! ... “Debrrrrrring tool”... 🥶 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks Mr Dave... a furnace is the other debrrrrring tool, right? 🤣 Feels good to get stuff organized, that's for sure. Best, Matt
a real ADVANCED drawerganizer!
Matt, your videos seem to go so quickly. I guess time files when you’re having fun!😬
Thanks Dave... takes a ton of time to edit video so 'tight' but seems to make the content easier to digest? Best, Matt
@@NextLevelCarpentry I don’t have a problem with length of your videos because they’re packed and keep my attention. I do wait until I can watch because of time dedicated elsewhere but it’s always been worth it. Maybe it depends on the project/topic for choosing length/editing.
Matt, you need to call this something like “Drawers 2: Revenge of the dividers” or something even catchier. Drawers, said with a Bostonian accent sounds like Jaws, so there is a coolness factor built in. Also, you should trademark your portaganizer name. I just checked and drawerganizer is already a thing. Maybe you should expand to other areas like braganizer for women’s undergarments. Maybe doorganizers? Just thinking out loud. 😆 keep up the good work.
I do need a marketing agent Stephen... are you available? Fun to consider your thought process and alternatives! Best, Matt
I've been looking for something with round corners to use as a drill index. It's harder to dig the drill bits out of corners.
You Excel at filing file files!!😀
Hopefully I'll be deleting fewer files now that they're kept from dulling each other rattling around in their file folder... I mean file drawer...
I am definitely going to have to try this. It seems to me that putting glue on the edges of the bottoms of the small containers and then seating the sides over them might result in less glue cleanup from the inside.
I am definitely a long way from settling on best practices for making these drawerganizers so feel free to let me know how other methods you try workout? Regardless of how you end up making them I can tell you they are extremely handy and useful and wish you well on your project.
Best, Matt
Great Idea !! I take it you dont golf? I'd play 4 rounds in the time it would take me to make those pieces....lol :)
A golfer I am NOT!😉😎 It's probably even more obvious in the way I treat golf balls in this video: ruclips.net/video/oUCD3Pmlvbw/видео.html I find plenty of lost balls but haven't hit one in about 50 years!
So I hope you check the comments because this might help labeling those trays. If you notice at most hardware stores the labeling is also labeled with a sample of the item ie screw or nut glued or stapled to the label. Maybe that might help your organization.
That is certainly a viable solution to the problem for some people and some applications so thanks for adding it here...
👍👍👍👍
Nice job. And i thought my Dewalt boxes for screws were getting pricey for organizing them.
You can't just breeze past that table saw zero clearance insert plate with interchangeable sections for different kerfs! Do you have a video on that?
I love these. After watching your original vid I did a little investigating and was disappointed when I found out that, unless I am misunderstanding what you are using....these white vinyl fence post sheaths are pretty expensive @$25 for a 4" length. So even cut in half we are talking about a pretty pricey project.
I know what you mean about paying list price for stuff Michael. The best solution is to find a local fencing contractor who buys in bulk or, better yet, has scrap available. It's worth a bit of looking, that's for sure...
@@NextLevelCarpentry Did you find someone like that in Rapid City?
@@lstanczykRC there is a fence installation contractor in Blackhawk who may be a good source if they have extra materials from time to time and are definitely worth checking into... I don't remember the name right off hand but they are on the service road between Blackhawk and Somerset on the west side of the road... Good luck!
A fantastic video! Thank you! Oh, I want to join the A.D.A.... Please! ;)
Your ADA Membership packet is on it's way Sam... bet you can't wait to experience the great collection of non-benefits, guaranteed to not impress all your friends🤣🤣😎
That is great! How do you recognize which file goes into which slot. they all look the same to me. I just have mine all in a little bin unorganized, but I love what you did and hope to copy you.
I rarely remove more than one file at a time from the drawer so they just go back into the empty slot even though many look the same.
Sorry but I could not find the word disdrawerganize in the dictionary. Thanks for sharing. Great content.
Hiiiii it’s a great day to day but it’s really cold out.
Sounds like you need a de-burrrring tool, Dave! 🤣😎
Thanks Matt. Did I miss the putty knife partner video? Or is that still in the works?
Still in the works and on the back burner... sorry! I'd bore viewers to death with the convoluted minutia causing the delay/postponement. SOMEday though.... Best, Matt
Very cool file / gear organizers. As I often say, OCD is not a problem; OCD is a superpower!
BTW, the ways things are going, Bill Gate's wife will get the royalties. Just saying. 😎
Is cutting one hundred twenty teeny tiny tenons untenonable? By definition, probably not.
Thanks for another great video!
LOL: An untenonable proposition for sure! Do to much and you'll end up with tenonitis, which, left unchecked, may result in rig-a-mortise🤢🤢
@@NextLevelCarpentry Ouch! 😎✔
Where do you get fence post.
Matt, thank you for sharing. I looked through your Amazon store, but couldn't find the throat plate with interchangeable zero clearance inserts. Did you custom build it?
Bought it 20 years ago... it's long since gone out of production so I know of no current source other than a lucky break on eBay. Stay tuned to NLC in coming months as I'm working with Greg's Garage to improve and produce plates with that feature because of a high level of viewer interest like yours. Best, Matt

Matt, are you on Instagram? There seems to be a lot of fake yous!
I've been known to say "I don't do Instagoogletwitface" so I'm not sure what 'fake you's' means exactly. They do say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery but that phrase was no doubt coined before the dawn of rampant social media...🤨😎
Rocket Surgeon???? 🤔Don’t you mean Brain surgeon or rocket scientist?
Actually, what I meant to say was a brain scientist... my bad!
You must not have any thing to do ,work slow
Why do you say that? Because I choose to spend my precious free time producing videos to show others how to make their shop space more efficient to use? Your comment comes off as offensive and ungrateful... you must be bored and insecure, life slow?
I would bet that’s Matt’s phone doesn’t stop ringing and that he doesn’t even need to advertise because of word of mouth.
