This is probably the best review I've seen of this bike! I would've bought this bike quicker had I seen this.... Amazing machine!! Daily commuter...JUST DON'T TRUST THE FUEL GAUGE
Shares a frame and engine with the Honda NC / CXT / Intergra (modular) bikes. For less money but the same engine and frame, but much less style and novelty value, you you ride the Integra bike-scooter cross. Among those others, only the CTX has not been upgraded from a 670cc single balancer shaft engine to a 750cc dual balancer shaft engine (for license reasons). This does look very nice and comfy, but I feel the novelty value would wear off quickly and having to remove lots of plastic to do servicing would spoil it for me.
I got into bikes about a year ago and started riding 4 months ago, to me this is how more bikes should look, clean, elegant and modern. I'm just not a fan of big cruisers. And the rear seat to backrest is a good idea, more bikes should use it.
The bike is cool but, let's face it, those compartments are hardly "pretty good sized." They're a joke, and far too deceptively big on the outside for the tiny little interior spaces they provide to store things.
I agree. In the NM4's defense, there are four compartments instead of the two that come with any other bike with side bags. And the integrated power port in the lockable compartment is pretty slick. I ride with a bluetooth headset and my cell phone provides navigation. It would be nice to charge my phone while I ride. (It would probably be better if they had USB ports instead of a power socket). I have to agree with you about one thing though: Those side bags are way too small to use for much. I couldn't cram a set of pants in 'em, a laptop or even a full sized tablet. I don't know what they expect you to put in them. Action figures?
+Brian Hepler lol action figures! I am in Japan and someone who lives near me drives one. I love all Honda's but this is last on the list. in japan no one is riding this. I ride from Kyoto to Osaka 1 hour, or from kyoto to Tokyo, and no one has this bike. Main Bike is PCX 150/125 if it will be some auto thing. if I went back to California, I doubt I would see it.
+Jason Sonic Have you heard anybody's comments in Japan about the NM4? I suppose it may be obvious why they wouldn't be riding it, but I'd be curious to hear what word on the street is there.
Zeh Zahl sad to say but "Japanese dont have 'word on the street', they barely have words to each other, and English is super rare, unless you are in Tokyo Sation(not tokyo city, just the station).... Communication is the weakest part of life in Japan, no one wants to bother anyone, no one wants to ask if whatever is even a "bother"... Everyone will just assume any type of talk is going to bother another. .. Honestly my 50cc super cub is faster than any Ambulance, because no one wants to bother anyone to Move out the way. I have at least 4 videos of an ambulance behind me that never catches up to me or I pass them. I do many videos and motovlogs but I don't upload them because its kinda, not cool to ride here.
+Jason Sonic Huh, lol...interesting. Didn't know if you're living there or just visiting. I was assuming you spoke some Japanese. No matter... So if it's not cool to ride there, does that mean that no one is riding most anything (not just the NM4)? Or are they mostly jock rockets fans if they do?
FYI: The Speedo Screen is adjustable to more than 3 colors in the Set Up Menu. Would have been nice if you had talked about the simplicity of Suspension Adjustment & some of the mechanicals. Yes it IS a Great Bike & it took a while for me to stop reaching for a clutch and learned a great respect for the ABS brakes !
It's a commuter bike. Honda is great in building everyday-cycles. I have a Honda SH300i that I use for trips up to 50 miles (in Germany). Used to ride real motorcycles, but the automatic shifting and compact dimensions of a power scooter are very useful when you ride in congested areas most of the time.
+DaBrute technically, a motorcycle is just a motorized bicycle or tricycle. So all scooters are still motorcycles. Unless you have your own technical definition that beats the convention that the world has gotten used to for the past hundred years. :-P
Finally a reason not to buy another Burgman. Why haven't I heard of this bike before? It looks freakin awesome, has everything I need, and isn't too over priced like the BMWs. It's the Bat Bike! Thanks for this video, definite game changer. ....Wait... 104mpg!!!?? My 650 is about 60mpg and I cruise along like an old fart, trying to make it go up. (Petrol in the UK is damn expensive)
I looked this video up because I just saw one yesterday here in Taiwan. It was in front of me at a light, but I was just able to catch a glimpse of "NM4" on the side compartment and knew what to look for. The sound was so quiet and smooth, seemingly effortlessly leaving me behind. I wonder why Honda chose to use a chain for the final drive instead of a belt? Wouldn't that be much quieter and last longer before needing maintenance? Even a Yamaha T-Max 500 has a belt. I really, really want one of these.
nice review. That bike is so weird and unique that I knew that I had to have one. The DCT autotransmission wasn;t even on my radar before I got mine. It;s the ticket for riding in congested urban commutes not having to constantly use the clutch. I really like mine. oh yeah, I agree that others that that opening music sucks.. it's the first time I ever heard anyone that couldn;t 'sing' even with lame auto tune 'correcting' their vocal noise ha !
First off I would like to thank you for this amazing review. With that said: I never owned a bike before so if I were to buy a bike it would be automatic transmission, and that's actually what I'm looking for. I made my research and I would like to know, would this be a bike that I can ride from Phoenix to San Diego?
Interesting review.. I ride a Suzuki Burgman 650.. It has almost the same sort of features (Manual, sport mode, auto drive).. with some features that are not in the NM4.. I have to say, I love the idea of the NM4 back rest.. and the Burgman goes well too..
Awesome review on this bike my friend! Now, this bike is on my future list to occupy my motorcycle garage. Thank you and keep up in creating awesome videos. Take care.
The only thing I think they could have done better on this model is, make the final drive a belt rather than a chain. Lower maintenance and less noise.
My Honda PCX125 routinely got over 110 miles per gallon at 45 to 50 mph, but it could not go faster than 70 mph. So your mileage was indeed very impressive at the higher speeds. I'm sure that if the Vultus becomes popular, there will be a larger windshield for the bike either from Honda or GIVI. I admit, I was very impressed with the bike when I saw it at Heartland Honda in Arkansas this past September.
This scooter/bike isn't even close to the looks of the bike from Akira... put the crack pipe down bruh. Just type in akira bike/ akira bike mod on youtube to see the real thing (in Japan of course).
But its lame in the same way. riding a motorcycle is an art and a skill, the clutch is there to give you more control over the entire range of motion and scenarios while riding, without it it's just a couch on 2 wheels. if you want just a way to get from point A to B get a big scooter
dave kahn I hear you dude. Still love to ride on a cruiser with a clutch but people use to say the same about cars with a manual transmission. Now you hardly see cars with a stick. It's just progress.
Great demonstration Video, as I am unsure of the "LOOK" as of yet... I do appreciate the comfort and smoothness you described so well which is very important to me, especially as an older back and knee pain suffering rider whom shies away from the bigger bikes. Thank You.
An automatic tranny in a bike, now that is clever. I think that feature alone would open up the world of motorcycling to those that would like to get into it but are too intimidated by manual transmissions.
Guy Smiley Yeah there was the Hondamatic way back in the early 80's. Sadly that bike was not too successful in sales. Plus the the tranny it used was way too heavy and bulky. But this modern DCT seems to be doing better than that at least from the reviews on the NM4 and the CTX 700 I've watched and read.
scooters have storage and better on gas mileage and they're automatic while some motorcycles are too f****** clutch hurts my hand! for the people that have arthritis automatics are better!
I'm a bit torn about this bike. 1. It looks awesome. 2. The clutchless design is great for new riders who have never touched an manual transmission in their life. 3. The little things make a lot of sense (backrest/seat, power socket, cell phone compartment). It would be a pretty good bike for a new rider who is looking for a first bike and wants to stand out a bit. And yet... new riders shouldn't buy new motorcycles. You're gonna drop it. And who wants to drop their Bat Bike?
this may be my first bike. i like motorcycles but have never owned one. used to ride dirt bikes so i can operate a clutch but Im not so closed minded that i would shun an auto transmission. Im also a huge sci fi fan so i like the stylr
hey man I'm gonna be riding tomorrow (Saturday) a little north of Georgetown. all those awesome roads about 30 minutes from Georgetown I told you about earlier
SGHD Rides scooters dont need to shift they have CVT gearboxes. honda dash 110 has an automatic gearbox meaning has a shifter but no clutch lever(it automatically shifts)
At 9:50 you say it'll probably do 100... It will do 105, it's limited to that speed. I have a NC700x and it tops off at 105 with a limiter, without I think it would potentially top out at 116, they have the same power plant... Although mine isn't automatic, so it could be different. Having ridden the bike for 2 years now, my only wish is that they made the same thing with more power. Otherwise it's a great bike. Quick, but not brutal quick, you can keep up with a lot of regular bikes, but you don't have to worry about flipping it over backwards, because it won't lift the front tire. It handles exceptionally well, it gets absolutely great gas mileage, and it gets a lot of compliments on its looks.
eric lasseder Hey no need to get salty. It's okay to have terrible taste in music as long as you can admit it, the 1st step is acknowledging you have a problem. Move on. By the way, where's your profile picture?
Jesse D Why do people all say and do the same thing? It must be a hivemind fear response/ defense mechanism. You're so usual ps. it's because I'm not a loser, who actually uses youtube as a social media device? pps. loser

Thanks for the video bro. The bike looks like a spaceship. They don't let you test this suckers at the dealership. You sounded very excited bro. I wish i could give it a try.
Shit music is shit music, and that was shit music. There is a better fix to this problem than making people put on their personal stereo system and guess for when the shit music ends.
Man, ds is "OUTTASITE" about time these Ppl. started thinking away from their parents, n grandpatents way, n went outta d box thinkin'! We frikin' need toys of our own generations! TNX for sharring! RIDEON RIDEON BRO.
Closest thing to a production Akira bike yet. Sweeeeet. If they made a performance version of this cycle I think it would sell like hot cakes.
Hans Zarkov It meeds he paint job from Akira
Four years later... hotcakes
Yeah, they should make a red version. I love this bike.
I want this bike because of akira
Why haven't they been made yet?
Idgaf what anyone says this bike is dope
I have a 2016 NM4. It gets a lot of attention
@@Peternut552 in a good way or bad?
@@nczioox1116 good attention.
i completely agree, same with the dn-01
Wyssbfds yfm.
i really thought this bike was gonna be around the $20k but it is around $10k, holy shit its badass
My exact thought at first glance
Honda was inspired and copied the motorcycle from the 1980 Japanese amine movie "Akira", and has now manifested a real life version for 2016, and now you know the story
This bike instantly jumped to #1 spot for the "I'm gonna get this bike...even if I have to sacrifice a kidney."
My favorite part of this video was the music... said no one ever🤣
This is probably the best review I've seen of this bike! I would've bought this bike quicker had I seen this....

Looks like a future police bike.
I can see that
Judge dredd bike
"You don't even feel the shifts" Such is the wonder of a dual clutch transmission.

most ridiculously comfortable bike ever
this NM4 is used in kamen rider drive as the motorcycle for the other 2 riders in the series
Mach and Chaser
Amazing that this guy is in Texas and references Austin. Very helpful for those of us that want a good idea of what to expect.
The bike is cool but, let's face it, those compartments are hardly "pretty good sized." They're a joke, and far too deceptively big on the outside for the tiny little interior spaces they provide to store things.

I've been riding for the last 25 year's and I'm telling you that thing is Gr8 for long rides

I love the style of this bike, the ultimate touring machine
I'll have to test drive that. How is the view on those mirrors though? They look low.
I have been doing research on this bike, I am a first time rider and want to get this bike. thanks to your review, now I want it even more.
Man they missed a chance to make a bad ass bike with more power. What a great looking bike. Love the dct

legit the jetski of the road
looks like that bat cycle mixed with that thing judge dredd rides
Mixed with Kaneda's bike from Akira.
cool bike................................"music" sucks though....................................wb
Mute button much ?
looks more like the bike from Judge Dredd than gta
As a sportbiker, this is my favorite cruiser/touring bike.
Bro that song gotta go he cant rap at all
+B GerK You are dead right. that background crap sure takes away from a good looking bike. Could not enjoy watching.
+B GerK True dat.
Easy fix: Press mute & play your own background music. The videography is high quality and makes the bike stand out.
The Bat-bike. Automatic or digital manual. I want 1!!
the worst complement someone can give to a bike " oh it feels like a car "
Jeronimo Picarro right?
Right out of the Batman design studio! Ka pow!
So what is this thing? A scooter or a motorcycle?
It's a motorcycle

NO it doesn't!

Stop putting music over reviews of bikes!

Paint it red and it will look like an akira bike! XD
+Taijean Moodie Kaneda's bike?
+CHRANOS88 yeah!
they outright said that's what inspired the look of this bike. It only took them 30 years!
+Duo VII lol now to wait another 30 years for them to update their cbr600rr and cbr1000rr XD

So why would you want to ride in manual mode?
that's the bike from GTA V that cost over $600,000 haha
+youngsoldier93
lol.....I was wondering where Rockstar got the design for that ugly ass thing.
uncleansanchez To each their own (but yeah the game's version is still shit though)
Nah dawg it's the Akira bike
+JD Frank Yeah, Kaneda's bike is a beast!
This scooter/bike isn't even close to the looks of the bike from Akira... put the crack pipe down bruh. Just type in akira bike/ akira bike mod on youtube to see the real thing (in Japan of course).
that's straight up kaneda's bike now I want to buy it
Ok, dream bike here.
its a scooter not a bike
thank you
+magaiver9000 a DCT transmission is not a CVT Scooter transmission.
But its lame in the same way. riding a motorcycle is an art and a skill, the clutch is there to give you more control over the entire range of motion and scenarios while riding, without it it's just a couch on 2 wheels. if you want just a way to get from point A to B get a big scooter

An automatic tranny in a bike, now that is clever. I think that feature alone would open up the world of motorcycling to those that would like to get into it but are too intimidated by manual transmissions.
not the first one.

+tamiasthechipmunk I was thinking more like the Ridley
Guy Smiley Oh yeah I've heard of them. I think they used a CVT much like what you find on a scooter.
what a wild looking bike. reminds me of robocops motorcycle
next time you make a video let somebody else pick the music
Im guessing it has a CVT transmission that has pre selected gears for the manual setting. It would explain the very smooth shift that he can't feel.
2016 and no usb power outlets
zozias101 plug one in?
the 670 cc engine is only available in the US I believe. The rest of the world (at least the Asian market) have the 745 CC engine
this is a high end scooter its kinda like the Suzuki Burgman
+Trevers phone reviews How? 660c not enough? Would you call a ninja 250 a scooter?
would you call a Suzuki Burgman there are 650 CC and they're considered a touring scooter with automatic transmission
Can you explain the difference between a scooter and a moto? I know they look different but i thought scoots have like 250cc max because they are slow
even a vespa 300 cc are fast they do 80 tops
scooters have storage and better on gas mileage and they're automatic while some motorcycles are too f****** clutch hurts my hand! for the people that have arthritis automatics are better!
So is this basically a body modded CTX700?
i want one of those seats/back rest things for my harley and shadow...
I'm a bit torn about this bike. 1. It looks awesome. 2. The clutchless design is great for new riders who have never touched an manual transmission in their life. 3. that looks good.I think i will get one when I turn 95 as those electric scooters really suck.😂
Looks like I need this bike ASAP to kill my stress & anxiety.
'It feels just like a car!" ... in my book that's not a compliment.
+Ray Alam completely agree. When you hear yourself say that, that's when you get off and set fire to it
+Ray Alam completely agree. When you hear yourself say that, that's when you get off and set fire to it
+Michael Watts I think he meant the dual-clutch automatic transmission shifts and feels like a car, not the actual bike.
+Michael Watts agreed feels weird
He's talking about comfort and low down torque.
this may be my first bike. i like motorcycles but have never owned one. used to ride dirt bikes so i can operate a clutch but Im not so closed minded that i would shun an auto transmission. Im also a huge sci fi fan so i like the stylr

hey man I'm gonna be riding tomorrow (Saturday) a little north of Georgetown. all those awesome roads about 30 minutes from Georgetown I told you about earlier
I don't have my bike back yet :( if I did I would hit you up and go too but she's not ready yet.
The music is killing me. Thumbs down.
Beautiful design, nice!
it's a fast scooter.. XD awesome
Scooters don't shift.
yes they do google Honda dash 110 and then make a stupid ass reply to this comment please...
uhh.. vespas..
SGHD Rides scooters dont need to shift they have CVT gearboxes. honda dash 110 has an automatic gearbox meaning has a shifter but no clutch lever(it automatically shifts)
keian magpayo It's called Semi-Automatic you twig
No, I'm not a Honda hater. I loved my 2006 Interceptor and might buy the new one soon. Totally fun bike. I was getting 45-50mpg with mine.
Can't you leave the hip hop shit out? Damn.
Exactly.
Can you just leave and never come back? DAMN!
the music is shit, it makes no sense...

I RISE ABOVE but is it a scooter or a motorcycle
+DavidGFilms Labels are for canned food. This is a Honda NM4, you put it in whatever box you want.
+DavidGFilms A scooter is a motorcycle....
this thing gives me MAJOR robocop/akira vibes, and i want. just for the lols and genuine love of the style.
OMG!! why does everyone think they need to play the most hideous music they can find and ruin what might have been an interesting video ?
Easy fix: Press mute & play your own background music. The videography is high quality and makes the bike stand out.
Shit music is shit music, and that was shit music. There is a better fix to this problem than making people put on their personal stereo system and guess for when the shit music ends.
Cool review, the designer was inspired from the Akira anime bike. Can you also review the Yamaha Niken next.
Music is as stupid as the bike.
You do such a great job with your reviews! You should have 10x the number of subs that you have!
This has got to be the dumbest bike I have ever seen.
Maybe its because of the camera angle are you around 5'10 or taller if so is it a comfortable ride still.
The dash lights change to pink, makes it a scooter. The music stops when he's riding. Give him a chance, he does a good review.
Man, ds is "OUTTASITE" about time these Ppl. started thinking away from their parents, n grandpatents way, n went outta d box thinkin'! We frikin' need toys of our own generations! TNX for sharring! RIDEON
