Yeah, the biggest flaw with the Ash segment is that the Pokemon franchise has a lot of world building now. He’s applying American law to a series where America doesn’t even exist (it only has an equivalent in Unova). I know the anime doesn’t exactly line up with everything else in the series, but i doubt Ash Ketchum is completely exempt from the world building
I object that fictional characters should only be held liable under the laws of their respective settings. This is specifically about Ash/Satoshi, but may also apply to SpongeBob.

This is all well and good. There's just one problem. As the worlds biggest (casual) Lilo and Stitch fan, I'm obligated to be infuriated by this... Her name is Nani.
OBJECTION stich got legally adopted right after the start of the movie the papers would just have to be changed to a child adoption instead of a dog as sitch is sentient
@@youyo2205 And the entire thing involves international/intersteller/intergalactic treaties, which kind of also hit in things. However, if you include the Anime in things, Lilo would get in major trouble for abandoning Stitch
Counterpoint: Jumba and Pleakley moved in with the family, and arguably did not go through immigration themselves, so while there might not be a crime with Stitch, as a legally adopted pet, there might be a crime with harboring the two of them.
0:20 I object. I assume in this universe the fighting of Pokémon is legal across this world. The one thing in the first episode that I think would lead to charges was when Ash stole Misty’s bike, which would count as theft. Although since Misty would go along with Ash on his adventures, I’m sure Misty would opt not to press charges. I am about 99% sure Ash has committed other offenses though later in the series.
6:00 The Mystery gang actually (almost) never do this, they meet with authorities before getting told to go in and search these places, most places they go are public too
So these crimes could be lessened, as they do endanger scooby, and they mess with a possible crime scene, since they aren’t legal detectives (although given they have legal permission, I guess it could be waived)
I don’t know about the Scooby-Doo one, they were asked to find a bad guy in disguise, this is why they broke and entered into all the buildings, so I think they might be pardoned. If not, the would only be charged with breaking and entering, not the other crimes, this is because they had permission from people to go into the buildings, they would be charged with breaking and entering if they didn’t have permission to enter the building(s).
Issues I found: Pronunciation issue on number 4. Her name is Nani, not Nina. I know it doesn't matter much, but it got me a little upset. Legal issue on number 6. Boots is clearly sentient/sapient, being that he's capable of human thought and speech. While he functions on a level equal to that of a child, it still implies that different laws would be enforced instead. Also, given that Dora and Boots have been 7 years old for the past 19 years, her parents could be charged for genetic experimentation on humans and other sentient life, in addition to letting their child roam freely without adult supervision, endangering themselves and the people around them in the process. Legal issue on number 7. Each time Scooby and the gang go onto a property, it's almost always when the owner asks them to, and when it's not, it's being asked by a concerned third party. Even if they might not be a real task force in any legal capacity, we can't know that for sure, since many places allow people to organize their own task force so long as their intent is to aid others and they can prove their past good deeds. Not to mention that they've aided the police in the capture of many criminals over the years, which is highly likely to get them a reduced sentence for any genuine trespassing, if not just simple community service, or even just a slap on the wrist. Legal issue on number 10. Waternoose is literally from another realm with its own legal jurisdiction and laws. If we were to attempt to extradite him and bring him back to our realm for trial, we could just as easily be accused of kidnapping in his own home realm, and be put on trial where he's from. This would lead to some very tricky waters, as Waternoose is also a very wealthy business man, and if he were never removed as head of Monsters Incorporated, he would have likely had a lot of assets on his side, both above and below board, to ensure that he wouldn't go to trial on our turf.
In the second guy's defense, being chained up underground for a thousand years could be consider an excessive/cruel/unusual punishment, and his actions toward security were warranted because his escape was an act of self-preservation. He could then plead insanity on top of it.
3:19 OBJECTION! Don’t forget, syndrome committed a genocide of super heroes, committed domestic terrorism, and tried to kill 2 children. He would get 2 death sentences
Laws of Pokemon would be irrelevant to their world, especially for how normal it is. Probably (non-consensual) trafficking (if they traded) is the furthest he could be charged.
None for ash. In the Pokemon world theirs a whole registration process, it's a full legal government sponsored thing. Lilo is exempt too, She's legal. The government is secretly working with aliens and makes Lilo exempt
2:18 OBJECTION! Lilo is 6, meaning she cannot be charged. Her parents could possibly be fined or charged though. Oh nvm he took the words from my mouth
Syndrome actually committed mass murder, it’s implied he had other captives and he used a robot to almost destroy a city. He’s definitely getting the death penalty
No way a man with almost no knowledge on Pokemon said Ash would be arrested for animal fighting. Pokemon Battles are common sport in that universe. Officer Jenny isn't just one day gonna go, "I'm placing you under arrest for the crime of using Vine Whip in a normal, friendly Pokemon battle." I know you're a lawyer, but it doesn't work like that.
Spongebob also did kidnapping, murder, attempted murder, arson, being drunk in public places, DUI (I believe) breaking people out of prison, destroying the Krusty crab and boating school many times, endangering Miss Puff multiple times, driving without a license and many more 😂
The CEO of Monsters Inc might be sentenced to all those years in prison, but his sentences would be severely reduced once the other inmates discovered that his crimes involved harming children.
You should do the same video, but with videogames characters. Here some characters that i would like to see Granny(Dvloper characters) Dr eggman(Sonic the hedgehog) Bowser(super mario Bros) Super Mario (super mario bros) The imposter (among us) The twins (Dvloper characters) Henry Emily (fnaf) William afton(fnaf) Pico (pico's school & FnF)
I feel like Mike might wanna look into the lore for Pokemon. Not only does America not exist in Pokémon’s universe, thus making American law inapplicable in this context, but the games that take place to this universe’s equivalent to America (Unova) take every point that Mike brings up regarding that law and pokes so many holes into it that it’d be Swiss cheese. (I do highly recommend those games btw)
Objection. Ash wouldn't get any time. In the Pokemon world, mystical animal fights are legal... amoral, but legal. Still... he might be on the hook for a few hundred dollars, after all, I don't think he ever repaid Misty for he bike.
Hold up Lilo sister wouldn’t be under arrested because cobra bubbles is with the government but allow them to have stitch even supporting them as long as she’s a fit guardian so nani and Lilo would actually be fine
Ash- revoke the sentence please, pokemon fighting is not illegal The tiger guy(forgor his name)- add more sentences for attempted murder The guy who stole woody(forgor name too)- add grand larceny Lilo- 👍 Syndrome- add genocide, many attempted murders Gru- 👍 Dora- boots isn't her pet, but her friend, he is sentient
@@SdFam-wi4zu thats true. team roket did try to steal pikacu so "his Pikachu to use powerful electric charges on Team Rocket." to make sure his piakacu does not get stolen makes sense
5:44 technically Boots isn't her "pet" he's more of her best friend/sidekick I've barely watched Dora the Explorer and I know from many episodes that Boots does NOT live underneath the same roof as Dora
I’d love to see how many criminal charges Megatron (or his upgraded form, Galvatron) from the original Transformers cartoon and animated movie would get. Of course, he could possibly claim diplomatic immunity, being leader of an faction of alien robots.
Just a note on Toy Story, I don't remember if Woody was given an exact value in the movie, but I imagine it would be more than enough to escalate the charge to a felony Also Syndrome's robot went on a rampage through the city, so he would be looking at several counts of criminal damage
Don't forget to add some form of illegal gambling to Ash's charges considering people either gain or lose money depending on if they win. That's much more likely to stick considering that it could be argued that fighting is just something pokemon like doing, even in the wild and could be considered necessary to the species mental well being. (This is all just from what I remember reading a long time ago.)
He’s coming to know his audience :) It’s pretty cute seeing my kids pay attention to many of his posts here. He gives them such an extensive scope of applications and applicable considerations regarding behaviors they easily see or hear of in the news, but also their cartoons! 😂❤🎉
Well tai lung isn't a villain he would get long time in prison for assault or murder of many people in the valley of peace(ionic that the place called valley of peace suffered this much violence and if so should shifu also have time in prison because he basically fueled tai lungs desire to be the dragon warrior and misguided him (accidentally) so he was the passive party in the crime while tai lung was the active party. So how long would he be in prison for?
But let’s not forget that although Mike Wazowski and James P Sullivan AKA Sully have made it their mission to protect and keep Boo safe until she returns to her door, they scare her sometimes but it’s mostly on accident
7:15 Objection. In season 1, SpongeBob reveals to Ms. Puff that he has an antenna where he is getting the answers, which constitutes cheating on a government exam, which is a crime. In season 2, while he’s zooming in his hot rod, he creates a forged driver’s license to use, which also is a crime. And then we have at least 1,000+ counts of reckless driving. I also think we should add multiple counts each of evading a peace officer and exhibition of speed based on the newer episodes as well. I also think Ms. Puff is going to be held civilly responsible for each of those crashes, but I could see SpongeBob having to pay out for some of them.
syndrome would get death sentence because of deaths of 20 supers, terrorism, torturing, kidnapping x25 and more. he also made illegal weapons for EVERYONE... all together death sentence would be his estimated sentence.
@LawByMike Pokemon battles are technically legal in the world of Pokemon. There might be some cases like the city from Detective Pikachu being an exception, though.
Reminds me of that one episode where SpongeBob put that he committed "lots and lots of felonies" on his job application because Squidward told him a felony meant being too happy all the time

But Lilo’s got the legit paperwork where she adopted STITCH so where is that leave us?
In the second guy's defense, being chained up underground for a thousand years could be consider an excessive/cruel/unusual punishment, and his actions toward security were warranted because his escape was an act of self-preservation. He could then plead insanity on top of it.
The end was too good! Love this vid
3:19 OBJECTION!
Don’t forget, syndrome committed a genocide of super heroes, committed domestic terrorism, and tried to kill 2 children. He would get 2 death sentences
07:16 bro mike is trying so hard to hold back his laugh 😭☠
Laws of Pokemon would be irrelevant to their world, especially for how normal it is. Probably (non-consensual) trafficking (if they traded) is the furthest he could be charged.
Aren’t trades consented though by the Pokémon? As that would make sense, since Pokémon also have to give consent.
@@LinkMaster-d5b in the show we do see that its the pokemon's choice to battle

How so? Tell us! :0
How
Yoo don’t tell them if your not comfortable
For LawByMike: in spongebobs charges you forgot to mention that he would be charged of Vehicular Manslaughter for how much people spongebob ran over.
Squidward: gee I sure do love to drive my new Chevy Silverado SpongeBob: Hi Squidward!!
i love how the most replayed is where its just after the sponsor. man almost everyone skipped the sponsor
Objection! In the sequel (I think), Gru was pardoned after joining that hero group.
Yes, but it’s only the first movie, so that’s where the case stands to think
0:50 OBJECTION! im near certain that in canon the pokemon also enjoy battling.
I know in some dex entry's they do say it
@@Jetstreamsamsbiggestglazer I think they do since they do battle at choice
Who else loves how Mike gets straight to the point?
He doesn’t all the time
Syndrome actually committed mass murder, it’s implied he had other captives and he used a robot to almost destroy a city.
He’s definitely getting the death penalty
Bro when the sponsorship ended I got an opera ad
Name is Nani not Nina 2:43
When the dyslexia hits 😂
Wouldn't Mystery Incorporated be a group of vigilantes. Another question would be do they have a private investigator's license.
What I have been saying
Imagine he survived 15 millions years in bars💀💀
This was a video i didn't know i needed. Funny yet insightful stuff Mike.
No way a man with almost no knowledge on Pokemon said Ash would be arrested for animal fighting. Pokemon Battles are common sport in that universe. Officer Jenny isn't just one day gonna go, "I'm placing you under arrest for the crime of using Vine Whip in a normal, friendly Pokemon battle."
I know you're a lawyer, but it doesn't work like that.
I’m pretty he meant the real world
Spongebob also did kidnapping, murder, attempted murder, arson, being drunk in public places, DUI (I believe) breaking people out of prison, destroying the Krusty crab and boating school many times, endangering Miss Puff multiple times, driving without a license and many more 😂
Charging Ash with a crime for Pokémon fighting is like charging a boxer with assault and battery for knocking someone out in the ring
Another LawByMike video makes my day bright again
The CEO of Monsters Inc might be sentenced to all those years in prison, but his sentences would be severely reduced once the other inmates discovered that his crimes involved harming children.
You should do the same video, but with videogames characters.
Here some characters that i would like to see
Granny(Dvloper characters)
Dr eggman(Sonic the hedgehog)
Bowser(super mario Bros)
Super Mario (super mario bros)
The imposter (among us)
The twins (Dvloper characters)
Henry Emily (fnaf)
William afton(fnaf)
Pico (pico's school & FnF)
I feel like Mike might wanna look into the lore for Pokemon.
Not only does America not exist in Pokémon’s universe, thus making American law inapplicable in this context, but the games that take place to this universe’s equivalent to America (Unova) take every point that Mike brings up regarding that law and pokes so many holes into it that it’d be Swiss cheese. (I do highly recommend those games btw)
This reminds me I once saw a satirical news article titled “Kid gives Dora the Explorer wrong directions, Dora gets shot by Albanian Border Police.”
The Onion?
@@the_steph_k this particular website was called Danking News

Were is Riggy, he has committed over 7000 crimes
Frrrr💀💀💀
1:23 in defense; they initiated this BY TRYING TO IMPALE HIM. If he did not fight back, he would of DIED.
But he was trying to escape from prison which would had him 20 more years for trying to escape
Mr Waternoose would also be charged with “torturing”, because he tortured the children.
But he didn't. The scream extractor was a brand new process where boo was going to be the first victim
@@derekhandson351Really?
Wouldn’t he then be tourturing Boo though, or no?
Ash- revoke the sentence please, pokemon fighting is not illegal
The tiger guy(forgor his name)- add more sentences for attempted murder
The guy who stole woody(forgor name too)- add grand larceny
Lilo- 👍
Syndrome- add genocide, many attempted murders
Gru- 👍
Dora- boots isn't her pet, but her friend, he is sentient
eric cartman is looking real quiet rn
Isn’t that your pfp
I thought Mike would talk about all the damage his Pokémon did. Like telling his Pikachu to use powerful electric charges on Team Rocket.
It was self defense
@@SdFam-wi4zu thats true. team roket did try to steal pikacu so "his Pikachu to use powerful electric charges on Team Rocket." to make sure his piakacu does not get stolen makes sense
5:44 technically Boots isn't her "pet" he's more of her best friend/sidekick I've barely watched Dora the Explorer and I know from many episodes that Boots does NOT live underneath the same roof as Dora
Sponsorship ends at 4:29

I love that Law by Mike loves watching cartoons! 🥰❤️
Dora crossing the border isn’t new the reboot came out yesterday and she still fails 🆕
@LawByMike you may want to do Ren and Stimpy, Beavis and Butthead, Bugs Bunny, Teen Titans Go, and a few others next.

I’d love to see how many criminal charges Megatron (or his upgraded form, Galvatron) from the original Transformers cartoon and animated movie would get. Of course, he could possibly claim diplomatic immunity, being leader of an faction of alien robots.
I am not switching from Microsoft Edge to Opera browser and no one can convince me to do so
Normal opera is very good I use it but you don't have to switch if you don't want to
Anyone using Edge can't be convinced of anything because they're effectively brain-dead.
Or a Boomer, I guess, but that's the same thing, really.
@@ThisIsYou36 opera is spyware
Just a note on Toy Story, I don't remember if Woody was given an exact value in the movie, but I imagine it would be more than enough to escalate the charge to a felony
Also Syndrome's robot went on a rampage through the city, so he would be looking at several counts of criminal damage
Finally, normal opera and not opera GX
There’s nothing wrong with either
@@Combineboy Opera GX is overhyped
3:33 that aged well

@LawByMike Pokemon battles are technically legal in the world of Pokemon. There might be some cases like the city from Detective Pikachu being an exception, though.
Opera GX is a privacy stealer and VPN is broken. 3:45
