- How do you keep the Spire alive in Abyss? Well, if you want to know how to not kill the spire, I have a few tips for you in today's video. Abyss farming strategies are incredibly good in PoE Affliction league, but managing the abyss spire can be very frustrating and tricky, but hopefully watching this video will help improve your future encounters.

Dropped a mirror that duped also got 3HH 2 MB and 2 kalandras touch. So ive been pretty lucky

Got a mageblood from my second ever voidborn key, and because of those funds I'm now on my fourth 90+ char this league (usually only have 1 or 2 90+)
2 max fire /explode charm - 320 div at the time
Another thing that helps alot with seeing the spire and hopefully not insta-killing it is if u have detect evil from the tincture ascendency it shows u a minimap icon for the spire which is different from that of rare monsters

@Lolcohol I am playing a boneshatter without magic find... however when crafting the maps with 8 mods there are modifiers that do not allow me to make them... I only try to make maps with the mods that I can and always the + 2 projectiles

For builds that have a lot of off screen/worried if it gets ignited, as long as you have enough ignite duration so that you're already ignited for a bit, you can just weapon swap to a cold iron for a bit and it should stop the ignite from doing anything
its still burning even if i swap fulcrum to CIP and it still can go in seconds..

With the CIP swap, what makes it a lot easier is having your CWS DD in your Fulcrum so that when you swap to CIP you can no longer acquire new ignites. Then when a spire spawns, dragging some enemies away from the spire, getting a small ignite on yourself with DD, swapping to CIP, and then just running up to the spire and standing still which slowly burns it down to ~40 - 60% HP. Once everything has spawnned just swap back to Fulcrum. The only time this doesn't work is if you kill a mob with DD and proc your 500% explode, in this case you just give the spire a little smooch to lower it to 50% and then move away from it to not kill it. Doing this I've lost
Aha! I'm pretty sure I have my DD in my Fulcrum already but I'll make sure. Thanks for the tip for other people though!

So you equip Invictus and CIP on your weapon swap with DD on your fulcrum. Then, as soon as the spyre spawn, you run away, getting ignite on yourself, weapon swap, and run to the spire to let its hp drop to 40%, then lure mob outside and kill, is it correct?
@@chaseliou1070 Once spire HP drops to ~50% you can just wait for it to spawn all the mobs (Should be 3 - 4 waves) and then just swap back to Fulcrum and blow them all up. Don't really need to lure them away once all waves have spawned.

i thought about that too, i always somehow kill the spire with my ignite prolif, it basicly shoots a trail of mobs that then prolif to it even if i stand far away.
but NOT using ignite prolif feels kinda dumb. honestly i will just put out the cluster that gives me prolif for the abysses.

If it's near a wall it can get all sorts of buggy with less volleys, endless spawning even after it's gone, another issue is going into a map with 3 guaranteed abyss but only getting 1, seems to happen on maps I get rituals.

Great video, love the relaxed approach. I've been getting a lot of single divines to drop (usually 1-4 per map but from different mobs) so I am really, really wondering how to get these stacks of 5+ from one enemy. I assume it has to do with loot conversion but how is it scaled up? Once I've gotten 4 divs in a stack with other currencies, here I assume this could have been "the big one" IF I had other modifiers going on. Which ones? Would it be quant or rarity?
From memory you should watch sirgog's or palsteron's videos on the subject. I think they did the best job of explaining how the explosions are produced. The biggest component is getting enough whisps while also getting lucky with invisible modifiers on rare monsters
Yeah I second the Sirgog recommendation as his video was phenomenal. I haven't seen Pal's video but it's probably just as good!
You won’t get those huge div stacks unless you invest MIRRORS into a great MF build. Most players get reg div drops and once in a while a stack
Your tip whit scarabs helps a lot. I used a lot of polishes ones and was wondering why i see no spyre.
fulcrum but cant really kill the big juicy mobs so far so only getting single divine drops

@Lolcohol do you get 4 abyss all the time or some maps just drops 2 or 3 ...some people says strongboxes are not allowing to get maximum abyss per map...is that true ??? o do we have to run maps t7 o t14+
Some maps you will only get 1 when you should get a guaranteed 4. It has to do with other mechanics in the map and just the game being dumb
Does the abyss also have a timer? I sometimes notice that the abyss does not move, or the spire does not spawn and then suddenly it's gone. Wondering if I'm just too slow killing off the monsters in that case

Not sure if this applies to ignite damage or not, but I have been playing caustic arrow of poison, when the spire spawns I just flame dash/dash about 2 screens away and that helps for not killing it apparently dot damage cuts off if you are too far away from the enemy which makes sense.

I have a question. If the spire spits out the third time and all monsters spawned, can i kill the spire or do i have to wait for more mobs?

Ikr, I’m running his MF Blade Vortex and it’s just not working that well.
Badly needed this Tips, I cant even see the spires ,my ignite kills them off when they do spawn even if they have extra life and resistance 😂😂
if u have problems with killing t7 spires as tornado shot i recommend adding lv1 greater multi proj to ur tornado link instead mirage archer for lowering dps :)
Increased rarity gem is better, and yes you still kill the Spire too quickly even in t11.
how can you stand so close? my aoe seems to be killing half the screen when i try to do what youre doing
Try dragging mobs further away before engaging them :) The spire will die more quickly if you have very few wisps, but you can make use of some of the other tricks I shared to increase the HP of the Spire
Any tips on trying to do this with penance brand of dissipation? Im thinking I may have to set up a weapon swap just to disable my chest so my brands disappear but I'm not sure how I'll do that yet
Do you have room for brand recall? You see it spawn, run away and recall
@@JakeThompson14 that's actually a good idea. I think I can fit it. Do they recall to you? Or to your cursor when you cast?
@@an0mndrreplica last resort weapon swap if you are petrified blood. brand recall technically works but I gave up doing abyss with penance cus it's too finicky
If you are using full elemental conversion for it, weapon swapping to cold iron point should be enough.
If you are using half physical and half elemental, you could use Voidforge in weapon swap.

Seriously though the SRS just delete the level 7 spire like nothing, they can't be reasoned with, guess it's upgrading to rippy tier 16 now.

For how much does Delirium permanent Mirror increase HP? Is it treated as 20% delirious or is this completely different?

Hi, just wanted to point out that 100% deli is not 80% increased life, but 500% more life. I know that Locohol knows this. I just write this so people do not get confused by it.

400% more :^) (100% is already default *5 = 400% more to make 500% total) I made the same mistake in my head when thinking about. But yeah. Semantics by that point, I know.
@@MikeSakaru yeah you are right, in my head I wanted to say 5 times more life in poe terms.
For the peeps interested on how to do the Math for Delirium damage reduction and convert it to eHP :
100% delirious VS unique enemies = 80% damage reduction.
You take the Base health and divide it by (1 - damage reduction) -> 100 / (1 - 0.80) -> 100 / 0.20 so 500% total HP.
And like Mike pointed it out, be careful guys with the "More life" because 500% more life would be 100 * (1+ 500%) so 600% hp !

For any poison builds out there, plague bearer is a great way to dmg the spire the right amount

I did! I did something similar and it worked pretty well but yeah if the map isn't juiced enough it can kill it pretty fast :(

I would agree that when I was able to get juicy spires they were great. However out of the 18 spires that I have gotten 6 of them suffered from infinitely spawning enemies and were unable to be complete so they dropped effectively nothing. I speced out of abyss and have not looked back yet. Perhaps I will scour the net and see if this is happening less and worth the respec.
You have to kill the spire.... No such thing as infinite spawn you just aren't killing the spire lol
@@davidmaltais2912it happens a lot, what are you talking. It bugs somehow, even going full dmg with HH and start spawning infinite monster that give no loot / exp

i went in a full juiced map got nice juice and was killing a unique exile game froze . dc then login map gone . can you share your loot filter
try to edit your config file to disable sounds (most of them) that will fix your problem, you can google it or search here in YT how to do it

how do you scale your self ignite duration? I saw 10 seconds in the clip!
There's two little hanging points near the start of the tree that increase ignite duration on enemies (sorta to the right of the Endurance Charge point) that are easy to miss and then also make sure you have a decent roll on your Cloak of Flames! :)

I would say at least 1 mirrir. If u craft ur build maybe less but a magic find build that can handle juiced t16 is rlly rlly expensive. If u r not rich,then get a 200/250 build for t7 cemetery😊

If the enemies keep coming forever and you don't kill the spire but keep killing the enemies I've noticed they don't drop anything. Anyone else just kept killing the enemies and noticed they spawn forever but drop nothing? If do is there a point where you know that's all the enemies so it's safe to kill the spire?
Yeah it's a bug that sometimes occurs and it seems to happen when it gets stuck in a corner. A way you can tell if it's bugged is to type /kills and see if that number goes up, but usually it's obvious when nothing is giving you experience or dropping any loot :(

Yeah its a pain to keep alive with fulcrum, even if i step away the ignites can spread alll the way back to it. Not seen a stack higher than 5 divines the whole league, juicing the absolute crap out of my maps, full magic find, sextants, scarabs, etc... probably 700 maps so far, my rng is absolute trash.

So i kinda dont want to do league as i dont really like the idea of re doing everything from 0 again. Is this doable in Standard? Or is the league mechanic a 100% must. Im trying to farm raw divines and tha stuff. Been doing blight/ravaged for a while now. And it seems after this patch it has become less profitable.
The league mechanic is where the vast majority of juice is coming from. There are still at least two months left in the league so don't miss out!

Been trying this. Still don't know what I'm doing wrong. Just never get any drops. Just get the same 5 or so uniques drop and worthless currency items. Not one divine drop or decent item that can sell for a good amount.
How many Wisps are you getting? And how many maps have you run with what strategy?
@@Lolcohol I think usually around 3 -4k wisps on average if I don't die. I find it hard to get any more than that even with lots of trails and monsters. Not done a huge amount. Probably only 4 or 5 maps so far. Got my atlas tree done. Unsure if to be doing lower or higher tier though. Seen some doing tier 7 and others doing higher tier. Maybe its just people are showing videos of their best drops so I'm expecting too much.
Run more maps and you'll see results :) 3-4k Wisps is so few that many people would skip the map and you're more likely to see the bigger drops around 6+k :)
@@Lolcohol Yeah I hate it when I die straight away and hardly have any wisps, feel like no point doing the map. I have actually been getting more wisps. Managed 7k wisps and it was a lot better but best I got so far was 2 divines drop but that was tier 7 so maybe different on higher tier maps.
get 6k blue and 6k yellow wisp then see a really tough spire

My gilded abyss scarabs give me troves and very rarely get a spire. Must be doing something wrong.

I have a problem with the game crashing every time i open an abyss, and thus losing it. And i have an rtx 4090ti, i9, 64g ddr5... ive tried lowering graphics settings, nothing fixes it. It completely bricks this for me
Try to move your shader cache on ram memory, it helps a lot
How do you do this? I've also had horrible performance this league

I've been averaging around 15fps in these juiced maps this league :/ always had over 100 in every league before this :(
A little tip to reduce the load:
Sourced from fubguns video - essentially you can go into your sound config and disable the sound effects as you please, as turning it to 0 in game has a big diff from doing it in the config to effectively disable.
I went from literally dropping like 1-3 frames per sec to actually being able to play. I'd highly recommend it esp considering how many projectiles and shit are flying out this league, even more so with TS
i dont know why, the Stygian Spires not spawn, only the chest.
Are you running at least GIlded Abyss scarabs in T7+ maps?
@@Lolcohol always gilded, and im doing t16 burial chambers, i was must put 2 atlas point in abyys for % stigyan spire, but i see you dont use that.
If you're using Gilded in T16s it's impossible for a chest to spawn :s I wonder what's happening
@@Lolcohol i put 2 point in stigyan spire chance are 40%, i was do a map with 5 abbys and 2 be closeed and 3 was spire, and no dprop scarab, i have a problem, i dont know what it is and im angry

To not waste scarabs on abyssal depths, just dont run red tier maps as they are area lvl gated. That's why yellow map abyss farming is superior. Easier mobs -> faster clear -> no scarab wasting on possible depths.

I find that keeping the spire alive with headhunter is very annoying. Shroudwalker always teleports you back to the spire so it is challenging to get away from it again quickly before doing damage.
take HH off for a split second to remove all your HH buffs you just have to lift it for a split second and put it back on

Absolutely. I'm running it with my str stacking KB deadeye (uses replica alberon's, nimis, and original sin - so can't really fit any MF), and the drops are still incredible when I hit high wisp counts.
Yup you don’t need any MF - most of the real drops come from the wisps !
Beyond - Abyss - enraged - rare corrupted strongboxes for sextants and then gilded abyss , reli, div, ambush for scarabs
@@jpazc2scarabs would be gilded abyss, gilded divination (on good card maps) gilded reliquary, and then any others you want to add, sextants( add an extra abyss, beyond, deli or you can use a deli orb,) on map device I use abyss too and I usually get 5-6 abyss in a t-16 burial chambers map

@@Cheezer3089 I like loot but I also like to blast and just mindlessly grind. I don't think its fun to go to every Abyss and be like "oooh I hope I don't kill the Spire... careful.... careful....AH FK killed it again."
@@GermanLoLVidz you don't have to do the spire , doing this mechanic drops divines for just casual mapping aswell. I got many dropped from just alch and running.
