It is said they were "fond" of each other. Nothing more.
Having the actors narrate is a genius that many shows will never master like this. Hearing Liam Cunningham talk makes me think of his role in little princess his voice is so relaxing. Viscerys...you mad bro??? Jamie has a great narrative voice as well he sounds just as arrogant as he was..when he was younger. Robert Baratheon is one hell of a narrator
He was always stubborn and proud, but he used to be fair and he used to at least listen to advice and give his reasons if he didn't take it. I think a mixture of being over looked AGAIN for what he was justly due and the Red Womans crazy slowly fucked his reasoning and made him go bananas. His brothers and wife didn't help either. Davos and poor Shireen were the only ones left who truly loved him and were on his side. He pushed Davos away and sacrificed his daughter to his ambition. By then he no longer cared about saving Westeros he jusy want what he thought was his. Ironically sacrificed what was truly valuable...after that shit he was fucked and he knew it. When he gave himself up to Brienne that was the real Stannis, who truly believed in justice.. Part of the reason I love GRRM's charactors is they aren't one sided. Even the ones who do horrible shit have their good qualities lol. I just read The Lord of the Rings again. I love those books, but the charactors are so one sided, either good or evil period. Like what the fuck problem do Orcs have? Are they always pissed? And other the like Eowyn, Galadriel and Luthien do any females do anything? In the books even Arwen just sits around and looks pretty. Westros is totally run by men but women still are important and many are great warriors....wow total tangent lol...my bad.
If you think about it, Roberts (great?)grandmother was a Targaryen. Sure not by house name any longer, but by blood. And do they not claim the blood of the dragon runs thick? So truthfully, Targaryen blood has always been seated on the throne.
That house was built in Targaryen Blood. The first Baratheon was a bastard of a Targaryen. They intermarried many times. Rhaenys was a Baratheon/Targaryen.
Too bad that if there’s a prequel, it won’t be about Robert’s rebellion. Even though we know the outcome and all the twists and turns, I would love to see it on the big screen.
Like seriously I know he is a Stark so making bad decisions is in his blood but Brandon what the fuc were you thinking going to kings landing maybe 15 deep and requesting the death of the heir to the 7 kingdoms how did you think that was going to work-out. O Brandon is here and he wants my son's head...well go cut it off and hand it to him 😐
Well the crown prince did take his sister. The daughter of an ancient and proud family whose women should never be treated like a goat you can steal. Or such was Brandon's thinking and he had good reason to think that.
Brandon Stark was known as “Wild Brandon”. In the show, Littlefinger remarks on how Brandon was the brawler of his siblings “quick tempers, slow minds”. Brandon and Rickard didn’t think Aerys was mad enough to kill them, knowing full well the entire northern half of the continent would come down on top of them, including the Baratheons whom where the most war-minded of the Seven Kingdoms. Aerys killed them and what Brandon assumed kept him safe came to pass
The Tyrells did nothing to save the Targaryens. They just sided nominally with the Mad King and waited the result of the war, using their enormous army and to besiege one castle. They could have helped Rhaegar at the Trident, or saved King's Landing from the Lannisters. I think the real explanation for the Targaryens' defeat is there. Even their allies weren't really their allies.
Even prince Doran didn’t want to send soldiers but his brother Oberyn convinced him that their sister was in serious danger and he sent 10,000 troops in response. He did not want to take part in the war.
I honestly love the implied arc Ned had over the course of Robert’s Rebellion. A quiet boy with a good heart, and a love for Ashara Dayne. After his brother who would be the obvious leader was put to death along with his father, he had to step up. The Ned we see face off against Arthur Dayne emerged from the war he fought hardened, confident, yet never losing his pure heart, even willing to marry the woman his brother was supposed to be married to for the sake of his realm. If you look at it, Stark not in line for the throne, whose father and brother were put to death by the king, and as a result whose sister was held captive by said king. Who loved a woman who eventually died(as far as we know with Ashara) and later married another woman whom he loved, but had to betray in some way to do the right thing. Jon Snow is an interesting man, isn’t he?
Curious fact about Ashara Dayne: her body was never found. And strangely enough, you heir to the house Dayne is also called Ned (who Arya meets in the books and who claims that Jon Snow's mother was their House's long time servant called Wylla, while Cersei and Catelyn believe Jon's mother is Ashara).
25:31 Viserys' comments really show how unaccountability is really bad for any government system. If people push hard enough, eventually people push back.

We all shall bend the knee, from Winterfell to Dorne, from King's Landing to Casterly Rock, to the man, the myth, the legend: STANNIS THE MANNIS!
Oberyn's story about his sister is the most heartbreaking ever. It makes even more sense that Ned never told a soul about Jon's real parents because Robert Baratheon was crazy and so were most people. Ned Stark is the heart of the story ( I still hate that he killed lady tho)
9:52 Gotta love Robert with his hate for Targaryens even though his house is just an upjumped bastard branch of the Targaryens and his Grandmother is a Targaryen
Diana Sarmiento She used him because nobody else wanted her not Rhaegar & surely not Robert😂😂 so she used the only Man who actually loved her Jaime....
I really feel bad for Jamie after I listened to his recollection. For all his skill as a swordsman and military leader Jamie has been used as nothing but a pawn, he wasn't chosen for his skill or charm as a kingsguard but only as a way to slight Tywin and his father didn't want him back for being his son but for being his heir. Even in the present he was captured and used as a pawn for an exchange. I can see why he loves Cersei because she is the only one who sees him for who he is and not what he represents. For Cersei Jamie isn't a kingsguard, a kingslayer or the heir of Casterly Rock he is just Jamie. I believe its also the reason he respects and loves Tyrion, because Tyrion sees him as his brother and nothing else while Jamie knows how to feels to be looked at for what you represent and not who you are as a person.

I actually use this playlist as research for writing my own work. The series is way to gornographic for me, but you can't help but be impressed by the world-building. Quite masterful to say the least.
After the rushed debacle of Season 8 it is actually quite sad listening to these back stories now as it confirms Benioff and Weiss basically ‘forgot’ about everything just to get rid of GOT and move on. They’re not as clever and beloved as they obviously think they are. They’ve believed their own hype, thinking themselves untouchable. There’s a rebellion coming which will hopefully wipe the smug smiles off their faces.... when GOT fans and Star Wars fans join their houses! 😉
God I wish they didn't ruin the show so much.... and that George R.R. Martin finishes this story someday.. And damn, I never realized how good the voice and acting the guy who played Viserys did. Both Viserys' we've seen on screen are great. I miss Season 1 Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark bantering with each other
The Knight of the Laughing Tree was Lyanna Stark. Rheagar found out and fell in love with her, and her with him. They ran away together to escape his insane father and ridiculous feudal society of Westeros (and partly so that Rheagar could facilitate the prophecy of the Prince who was Promised). You all know the rest.
No, he was a very likable man but if I remember correctly he was thrown into the dungeon in his youth and that changed him entirely plus the Targs have a history of mental illness due to inbreeding.
that tyrell story is really funny, so much pride in a "victory" over a man who had already fought and won three battles without rest. even though that victory still didn't win the war.

@@agardenwithfireblossoms Yes Dorn was part of the 7 kingdoms already but alliances are made then reinforced.
It's really great they got the actors to narrate this stuff... I wish they had talked about some of this stuff more in the show
Stannis, there’s greatness in his voice, and under his tones
I miss Stannis The Mannis
He was one of my most hated characters, got just what he deserved for being such a shit
He was a total limp dick punk who sacrificed his own touted morals on the advice of the next biggest fuckwad, Melissandre
yeah i miss him too nad i miss little girls beeing burned alive and stuff...
Aye, great fun.
Well, yeah there's that.
I love Harry Lloyd. He is so good at narrating these.
Ser Davos’ reading really did get better
“It was our first great fight” . Rob and Ned we're definitely a couple😂
Would love to see this brought to screen. More than anything else.
"The rose would strangle the stag". Margaery, you never had the *pleasure* of having to besiege Stannis. GOOD LUCK TRYIN TO GET HIM TO SEE SENSE!
Stannis the mannis is a beast
They Bend the Knee or I'll destroy them.
It was all Lord Randyll Tarly too who won the battles of the Reach and the siege of Storms End not Lord Mace Tyrell
@@daeseongkim93 Randyll didn't even win that siege.
I could listen to Charles Dance all day....
My favorite bedtime story channel now. Cheers! 🥛
O Brandon is here and he wants my son's head...well go cut it off and hand it to him 😐
Rell facts mad stupid
Well the crown prince did take his sister. The daughter of an ancient and proud family whose women should never be treated like a goat you can steal. Or such was Brandon's thinking and he had good reason to think that.
I could just imagine Aerys sarcastically saying "Oh shit guys, it's BRANDON fucking Stark."
Rell stark honor= gets you and family members killed
Brandon Stark was known as “Wild Brandon”. In the show, Littlefinger remarks on how Brandon was the brawler of his siblings “quick tempers, slow minds”.
Brandon and Rickard didn’t think Aerys was mad enough to kill them, knowing full well the entire northern half of the continent would come down on top of them, including the Baratheons whom where the most war-minded of the Seven Kingdoms.
Aerys killed them and what Brandon assumed kept him safe came to pass
Thank you so much for sharing these. What a wonderful insight into the seven kingdoms and outlying areas.
All this is strictly from HBO. It's in the Blu ray special features for each season.
Thank you
rabbid jones that makes much more sense, I was wondering how some random person had all these actors reading lines,
Fuck yeah
C'mon man. We all know if you just slap your logo on something someone else created, it becomes YOURS :-)
Aegon 1 Targaryen
Ohhhh.... Ok... Thank you sir...
@@Ruosteinenknight I’m not willing to fully ignore R+L=J, but it’s a good theory!

@@asmartistenthusiast3469 still much better than renly
Oberyn's story about his sister is the most heartbreaking ever. It makes even more sense that Ned never told a soul about Jon's real parents because Robert Baratheon was crazy and so were most people. Ned Stark is the heart of the story ( I still hate that he killed lady tho)
Seven hells, this was epic! Maybe one day, Robert's Rebellion will be made into a blockbuster movie! Gods that would be a glorious day!
9:52 Gotta love Robert with his hate for Targaryens even though his house is just an upjumped bastard branch of the Targaryens and his Grandmother is a Targaryen
CANT. STOP. WATCHING. THESE
Wow I feel like Cersei didn't even loved Jamie. She manipulated him the entire time. 😰
Diana Sarmiento She used him because nobody else wanted her not Rhaegar & surely not Robert😂😂 so she used the only Man who actually loved her Jaime....
Diana Sarmiento I mean to be fair she should not have loved him at all unless it was as a sibling
She love herself so much, they’re twins so she see herself in him that’s why she’s madly inlove with him.
All she sees in her twin is herself.
Really you thought she loved anyone? You naive poor thing.
So much beautiful and magnificent lore and history, truly immaculate
Pretty sure The Reach beat Robert because of Randyll Tarley & not Mace Tyrell.
True. But i think since Tarlys are vassals to Tyrells, Mace took the credit.
Makes alot of sense why Howland Reed refused to die at the Tower of joy until He gets Ned to Lyanna, He was simply returning the favor.

Marq J Lol he was smart and made it as if they won that battle while really keeping themselves out of it. I believe his Mother May be the wise one behind that!
Robert Baratheon usually rants and rages, but when he’s angry, like really angry. His voice gets quiet, and very very serious…
After watching this, ROBERT'S REBELLION IS THE PREQUEL SERIES I WANT!!

The fact that lord rickon stark was ready to fight the kingsguard to save brandon was insane. How strong was he? A shame the mad king choose fire as his champion

I actually use this playlist as research for writing my own work. The series is way to gornographic for me, but you can't help but be impressed by the world-building. Quite masterful to say the least.
Roberts narration was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'm crying for the Martel's
This needs to be a prequel series
Take a shot every time Robert says "those were the days", "what a day" and "gods"

Mark Addy KILLS it, even at this narration.
Clearly the mad king had alzimers.
No, he was a very likable man but if I remember correctly he was thrown into the dungeon in his youth and that changed him entirely plus the Targs have a history of mental illness due to inbreeding.
