    • @ManiaMac1613
      @ManiaMac1613 4 года назад +1

@@lorianabanana6066 I would argue certain storylines in Game Of Thrones would work really well as standalone movies. The show worked (up until season 7) because it followed the perspective of multiple characters. Robert's rebellion, the Reynes of Castamere, the War of the Ninepenny Kings, etc. could all easily be told from the perspective of a single character over the course of a feature film. Plus, having tighter guidelines has it's benefits when it comes to storytelling.

My money's on Lyanna Stark herself being the Knight of the Laughing Tree.
And when sent by his father, the Mad King, to the lists to unmask the mystery Knight, Prince Rhaegar actually did secretly learn the truth.
A revelation that led to Prince Rhaegar admiring Lyanna Stark so much for what she'd done, that he vowed to protect her secret.
Only to spurn his wife to give Lyanna his favor after winning his own joust the next day; a crown of Winter Roses, blue as ice.
A decision that would cost him his life, send a Stark back home to Winterfell with a newborn child, unseat the last monarch of a three hundred year dynasty, and set in motion a chain of murder, kidnapping, rape, betrayal, and warfare that would burn and reverberate throughout the Seven Kingdoms for decades to come.
One Crannogman is bullied by three squires at a tournament, and the greatest story of our generation begins.
I guess it goes without saying, George RR Martin is a literary genius.

I knew Cersei was manipulative as all hell the moment I first saw her, and she just cemented that theory in later seasons of the show. But I honestly thought her feelings for Jamie were real. At about 34:00 to 35:04 time stamp. You hear Jamie narrate and it’s pretty much confirmed that even her incestuous love for him started as just a tactic to get what she wanted, she didn’t want Jamie to leave cause that means her life would not be to her liking so she manipulated him (with her vag)to give up lordship to join the kingsgaurd. These characters are masterwork fully fleshed out.. I’m a wannabe writer so I see characters and character development and behavior in a brighter light than most people and the characters in GoT are brilliant.

Oberyn's story is so sad and not just because of what happened to Elia.
If you know Lyanna's story or Tywin's, you know that Rhaegar never wanted part of the Dorne union and Aries had chosen Elia to spite Tywin and the rest of the Lannisters. Yet Oberyn and the rest of Dorne saw the king as honoring them by choosing Elia when they in fact were using their daughter as petty payback because none of the rest of the seven kingdoms respect Dorne or the Martells.

Yes, Dorne was union into the 7 kingdoms via marriage to Darron II 200 years before, but Rhaegar also did not choose Ella is what the main issue should be about their marriage. Lyanna and Rhaegar fell in love; it's love or duty as Jon Snow would tell you, you can't have it both ways

The mad king didn't want Elia either, but she was the best match with some targ blood because the Martell's had married into their family and back since Dorne was brought into the seven kingdoms by marriage. ( awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Dorne#Unifying_the_Seven_Kingdoms ). He was also doing it to spite Tywin though, and nobody thought it was anything but political. He was always stubborn and proud, but he used to be fair and he used to at least listen to advice and give his reasons if he didn't take it. I think a mixture of being over looked AGAIN for what he was justly due and the Red Womans crazy slowly fucked his reasoning and made him go bananas. His brothers and wife didn't help either. Davos and poor Shireen were the only ones left who truly loved him and were on his side. He pushed Davos away and sacrificed his daughter to his ambition. By then he no longer cared about saving Westeros he jusy want what he thought was his. Ironically sacrificed what was truly valuable...after that shit he was fucked and he knew it. When he gave himself up to Brienne that was the real Stannis, who truly believed in justice.. Part of the reason I love GRRM's charactors is they aren't one sided. Even the ones who do horrible shit have their good qualities lol. I just read The Lord of the Rings again. I love those books, but the charactors are so one sided, either good or evil period. Like what the fuck problem do Orcs have? Are they always pissed? And other the like Eowyn, Galadriel and Luthien do any females do anything? In the books even Arwen just sits around and looks pretty. Westros is totally run by men but women still are important and many are great warriors....wow total tangent lol...my bad.

Brandon and Rickard didn’t think Aerys was mad enough to kill them, knowing full well the entire northern half of the continent would come down on top of them, including the Baratheons whom where the most war-minded of the Seven Kingdoms.

They could have helped Rhaegar at the Trident, or saved King's Landing from the Lannisters. I think the real explanation for the Targaryens' defeat is there. I honestly love the implied arc Ned had over the course of Robert’s Rebellion. A quiet boy with a good heart, and a love for Ashara Dayne. After his brother who would be the obvious leader was put to death along with his father, he had to step up. The Ned we see face off against Arthur Dayne emerged from the war he fought hardened, confident, yet never losing his pure heart, even willing to marry the woman his brother was supposed to be married to for the sake of his realm.
If you look at it, Stark not in line for the throne, whose father and brother were put to death by the king, and as a result whose sister was held captive by said king. Who loved a woman who eventually died(as far as we know with Ashara) and later married another woman whom he loved, but had to betray in some way to do the right thing. Jon Snow is an interesting man, isn’t he?

For all his skill as a swordsman and military leader Jamie has been used as nothing but a pawn, he wasn't chosen for his skill or charm as a kingsguard but only as a way to slight Tywin and his father didn't want him back for being his son but for being his heir.
Even in the present he was captured and used as a pawn for an exchange. I can see why he loves Cersei because she is the only one who sees him for who he is and not what he represents. For Cersei Jamie isn't a kingsguard, a kingslayer or the heir of Casterly Rock he is just Jamie.
I believe its also the reason he respects and loves Tyrion, because Tyrion sees him as his brother and nothing else while Jamie knows how to feels to be looked at for what you represent and not who you are as a person.

that tyrell story is really funny, so much pride in a "victory" over a man who had already fought and won three battles without rest. even though that victory still didn't win the war.

Jamie Lannister is incredibly underrated. Loyal through so much until Aerys end.
