Wow... how can we be helpful? I think the first step may be to help ourselves by slowing down. Then, take a look around. Lots of folks need help. In the chance meetings of our daily lives, we probably cannot help others by fixing their problems. However, showing someone a real measure of human kindness can help someone else. Holding the door for someone... with a smile... or gesturing for someone to move ahead in the check-out line... again, with a smile... might make a difference to someone struggling just to get through the day. And let's not forget to hold the door for our own loved ones.

I’ve been basking under the teachings of John and Dallas for perhaps a year. As I sell my house five years post my husband’s passing, it’s now time to downsize. The most apparent thing is for me to give every single thing away. All of it except my clothes, Bible and photos.
There is pretty much no way I could have come to this act of faith without being steeped in the daily Word and wisdom of John and Dallas. It’s a relief and a joy to imagine.

I find not thinking of myself first makes all the difference in being useful. No matter how I’m feeling, if I stop thinking about myself and think of others first, my mindset becomes more positive and becomes less concerned about worries and anxiety.
