QUESTION FOR THE COMMENTS:
What is your peace-making advice?
Here’s How:
Today, be a peacemaker.
If you come across a situation where there is conflict - ask yourself, “How can I bring peace to this situation?”
If you’re IN a situation where there is conflict - ask yourself, “How can I go first in making peace with this person?”
Ask God for help, recognizing that he is the ultimate Peace Maker.

QUESTION FOR THE COMMENTS: What is a good peace-making tip you've received?
As a coach I would add, what do you want to do about it?
For me, I’m working on peace in my heart and that flows into my connections with others, especially my 93 year old Dad.
Remember-you have never looked in the eye of one who wasn’t created in the image of God nor died for on the cross!
“Proximity” is very helpful for bridging. I frequent the same coffee shop operated by folks of different nationalities. Over time, I've built friendships and have opportunities to show kindness and love.
“Somewhere between right and wrong there is a garden, I'll meet you there” Rumi
always be in search of the garden … it is there if you look for it.
Love that, Kim. "I'll meet you there"
Pray before you speak!! Best peacemaker tip for me as I am
Bold which must be tempered with love at times.
Oh that's a good one!
Peace making tip: Be kind just be kind
yes.
Amen!!!❤
Read the darn Sermon on the Mount! Love it!!
Thank you John. A great reminder of what I can do for the Kingdom I long for.
From Steven Covey "Seek first to understand, then be understood." Listen more, talk less. Thank you, John and team.
Such good advice.
Wow. So agree. Stephen Covey quote a winner. Two ears one mouth.
The president of a company that I worked for told me that conversation is what is needed. If people talk and listen to each other, find common ground, that is the beginning of understanding, which can lead to peace.
That's good. Wise president you got there...
This is a daily prayer of mine- America and their turning to the Lord!
Blessed are the peacemakers. We are watching history repeat its self so I want to play my part. Kindness, gentleness and self control extended to those in my circle and outside. Buy a drink for the beggar today. Pickup some garbage during your day today. We can do this. We can be better.
We are, indeed, in a pickle. You don’t have to be a believer to live out the Golden Rule. You don’t even have to know what the Golden Rule is, just be kind, love all peoples, respect differences, put yourself in someone else’s shoes and do the next right thing. America is so divided and I honestly don’t know how it will fix itself. As for me, I will serve my Lord. ❤
good morning ☀️ whew…love is so powerful. appreciating the Sermon on the Mount more and more. Thank you for your in depth research and sharing of your wisdom so that I can live righteously.
Have a great blessed day 🥰💕🍃
These lessons are meaningful to me! I love listening to them every morning
So glad to hear!
To be a peacemaker I need proximity. When confronted with conflict my personality would have me crawl into my own thoughts or retreat to my likeminded group. I find it easier just to not hear conflicting views, to not see the harm done by inequality. I speak to myself with this thought: move toward.
Really good reflection. Thanks for sharing
I was raised with a bias toward the 'social gospel' which we saw as no gospel at all. This podcast was very illuminating and helpful. I was not aware of this shift in our society, and it was a breath of fresh air and a reminder of the power of Jesus words. Thanks.
I just want to thank all of you at Becoming New for your ministry. I have been showing the Beatitude videos to a group of young adults every Thursday evening for the past 7 weeks. We view John's words and then have a discussion time with questions and sharing. It's been a rich study for me, as well as the group, as we look deeper and try to understand Jesus words for each of our lives. Thank you again! You are loved 🌹
Great lesson today!
Love what you said throughout and especially the end- “Read the darn Sermon on the Mount- America is in a pickle!”
AMEN!! And May it start with me.
Thank you thank you thank you ❤️
Amen!
Live and let live. I am hoping , with Jesus enabling , to be a person who can focus on how I can improve and to accept others as they are.
Great inspiration for living my life for the kingdom rather than for myself. Thanks I needed this today!
One of the things that I love about John and his teaching is what he finds fascinating. It is increasing my own fascination with new and big and bold ideas. Thank you John and team
To be a peacemaker, pray in preparation, be open to opportunities, and then jump in as a child of God.
Yes
Thank you, John! Bridging the gap, getting out of our comfort zone.
Thanks, John, for sharing the Sermon with us again. When there is conflict, when there is violence and folks call 9-1-1... who is sent to them? A peace officer. Now, that peace officer's job is to restore peace. He or she is a peacekeeper. However, they are not peacemakers. We have to make peace with others. No one else can do that for us. Living the Golden Rule certainly is a step in that direction, and loving ALL neighbors as ourselves is key to living as children of God.
Good call-out!
Ohhh, I have never heard that hymn, but I wish for ease, sometimes, lol. But of course, I would never be really happy just sitting around, ha ha! 😊❤
I like what Stephen Covey said -- "Seek first to understand then to be understood."
Amen and amen!
This was eye opening! Thank you, John and team! You have provided some solid peacemaking tips. I would add that the art of peacemaking is knowing when to mind your own business and when to mind someone else's.
Ask more questions and really listen to the answers - it really isn't necessary to share my opinion very often.
Thanks John!
Great lesson!
Seems I am constantly struggling in my heart with where to spend my time. We own a business & I am continuously swamped - seems to take up most of my day. Yet I have a neighbor around the corner who is on hospice who I have befriended - and I never seem to have enough time or energy to check in on her like I feel I should. This creates conflict & guilt in me. The work has to be done ..but my neighbor might need me more. Lord help me find the time to do what's needed everywhere!
We are in a pickle, sure would be nice if we all could share a little more agape! Maybe one action at a time would be a good place to start. Thanks
Love it !
Thanks John! I'm gonna read the darn thing. Look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks in OK.
Also - a wonderful book: Bridges not Walls is so good
Thank you, John!!
Thank you, so inspiring & encouraging.
Say hello to my neighbors and reach out to them.🥰
Listen to other's perspectives with an open mind and heart. Don't judge. Realize we all come from different backgrounds, environments, and situations. Try to learn from others.
Amen.
Be curious. Really listen and get to know someone else’s perspective.
yes, love that
Good day Sir,
Proverbs 24:11: "Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. (NIV)
We need to help the people of Gaza.
They are hungry, homeless in winter, under siege, under US bombs, every 8 minutes a child is dead.
UN says they are going to starve. Those are the Z group who influence the media and the governments.
No!!!
Amen!
