    The VS is my main racket now. I came from an aero but the lack control and very long balls were upsetting me. The first time I played with the VS I immediately thought “thats the one!!!”
    My backhand is one handed and I feel very precise with it. Not Pro Staff precise but almost there.

    Very helpful I have Extreme Tour and considering as my preferred racquet over Speeds and Ezone and TF40 but AeroVS has come into my view as I realise like you I need easy spin on my topspin serve which gives me most success in winning points as compared to a flatter first serve which usually gets hammered back at me also decided topspin forehand is the way to go rather than flatter hit. So I will look to get a second hand one or demo if available. Thanks for video just in tune with my thinking this week!

    Couldn’t get any power with the Tour Extreme with Cyclone at 48/46, my usual setup on my Ezone 98. Tried Alu Rough in mains at 40 and Tourna Black Zone at 38 in crosses on the Extreme Tour, and the racket is totally transformed. Now I can hit deep and with spin, and it is much more comfortable on the arm. Amazing how much nicer it is with this setup. I was about to give the racket away.

    Friend, I am quite disappointed with my extreme tour, it turns out that despite the light weight I find that the swing speed is low, it is difficult for me to squeeze power out of this racket, I added six grams of lead at 12 o'clock and changed the grip of factory for one of 10 grams, even so it is difficult for me to accelerate and transfer the air. To achieve that, would it be good to counteract with a gram in the grip? Even my custom prestige auxetic tour with six grams at 12 o'clock feels faster. Please help. Interesting. I'm a VCore 95 user with an eastern/semi-western forehand and a one-handed backhand, so I hit a fairly flat backhand and moderate-spin forehand. I've demoed the Extreme Tour but thought it was too launchy... perhaps due to my stroke mechanics, perhaps due to the demo string (6 months old and probably too low tension = rocket launcher). Curious: do you have a one or two-handed backhand, and how have you found the Extreme Tour for that shot? Thanks!

    • @gregiffer

      @@outcometechnology I have a two handed backhand and put some topspin on it too. Like the backhand more on the extreme tour as I feel like there’s a little bit more free power than the 95. I also feel like the launch angle of the extreme tour is higher than the 95 (which I prefer) .

Without seeing you playing will be hard for everyone to help you improve your game. I would suggest to talk to a tennis coach you recognize quality, make a couple of sessions so he can see in more detail what needs to be done in order to improve.

Do you think it would be worth while adding weight to the MP to get it close to the Pro or is the MP a little to different to make it a pro that is slightly less weight (like making it a 310 instead of the pro at 315?

      In general any tennis rackets on the heavier side like tour or pro versions will offer you better stability and more plow tru. Starting from here you can customize your racket depending what you're looking for in your type of playing. My self I'm a base liner and I like power and spin type of rackets. Very important to keep in mind,strings can affect your game drastically. Extreme tour is a very good platform racket to be customized by your own specs. The VS tour felt pretty good in stock version to me. With a little customizing you can make it a deadly weapon. In the end don't forget strings and tension makes a big difference in playability!!!

    Also how would you compare the pure drive with the new iga technifibre.

    • @sjjapp
      @sjjapp 3 года назад

      No idea re the pure control 95. Guessing something like the Dunlop cx 200, the 95 version, would be somewhat within range.
      Re the pure drive and the Trebound 298 Iga racket, I'd say if you like one you'll probably like the other, especially if matched spec wise to whatever it is you like. I actually switched from the pure drive to the Trebound 298 Iga racket recently. Note I have my own personal specs so I've never tried the Iga racket in stock form. But for me it required very little adjustment. The Iga racket is basically a pure drive Vs but more controlled/dialed in, so I feel if you like one you need to test the other. The pure aero Vs will be within a similar range as well, but I haven't personally tried it yet but hope to very soon.
      I'm saying that I think you can play the same tennis with the pure drive and the iga racket, but it comes down to which variation of the same formula suits you most. Players who don't play with a ton of spin will prefer the Iga by a margin though I'd say on average, but if you play with a lot of rpms it might be a close call. The Iga racket feels a little softer at impact. More boom with the pure drive. Both great for serves, slices, and putting the ball away and/or loading the ball with spin. The Iga racket gives me more confidence playing closer to the lines of course. The thinner/smaller head size Iga racket whips around faster even at the same spec, which is a real treat on the run and when short on time in a rally.

    Comparing the power of the Pure Drive vs Pure Aero VS, is it similar? How is your perception ? Thanks in advance!

    • @sjjapp
      @sjjapp 2 года назад

      Pure drive has more spin potential, and if you have modern topspin baseliner swing mechanics that topspin may act against the end result if we're talking about power 'through the court'. The pure aero Vs is a more powerful attackers weapon for modern topspin players in my opinion, but that doesn't mean it's better. They're just different. The pure drive with enough topspin hits a safer heavier shot but you get more directional control, precision, and through court power with the Aero vs, lending itself to more risk/regard play than the pure drive. The aero Vs more versatile re styles of play it could suit past a certain level. I think spin is near fundamental to control a pure drive at advanced levels but with the aero Vs you have more options, ie, flatten it out with control and play with more variety.
      If we're strictly limiting it to power difference, like energy coming from racket, theres definitely a jump with the pure drive but I'd say the pure aero Vs still has got some good juice. Still has that Babolat 'destroy the ball' (and possibly 'destroy your elbow' if you're sensitive to injury from stiff rackets) thing going on.

    • @sjjapp
      @sjjapp 2 года назад

      Customise however you want. This is all personal and you will need to find your own spec ideally. I'll give you mine though as an example. I'm only testing it at moment as a potential switch but very impressive frame at moment.
      Ive added 1.6g of bluetac inside handle at handle base and 4.4g of lead at 9:30 and 2:30. Keep in mind quality control sucks. I added this weight after determining the individual specs of mine (and it was overspec). Brought the swing weight to 338. Super good. This setup basically increases spin potential and consistency with my swing style and allows me to swing bigger with more confidence, as well as hit a heavier ball with the decent swing weight. Despite the light weight it feels very stable with my single hander because of the swing weight and the extra stability it provides.

    I switched from VS Tour to VCORE 95. Loved the forehand, had a very heavy spin, but (single handed) backhand couldn't get it under control. Also, slice backhand just wasn't working. In general, loved the power of the VS Tour, but couldn't get full control over the stick. Too much power

      Hi Enzo, all good, just got back from Rome. I would look into Solinco Hyper-G Soft, TopSpin Cyber Flash, Volkl Cyclone Tour or Wilson Revolve Spin. Go for a lower tension for better comfort.

      Great vid thx! Like what I hear about Extreme Tour, and would like your thoughts on how it compares to Yonex Ezone 98 (which I like and I think is less whippy than Vcore 98 for example (more touch and a bit more controlled power, but less spin).

    I contemplated switching to the Extreme tour because of how good it is on the one handed bh but it really folded up when I took a big flat cut on the fh side.

    What is the comfort of the Pure Aero VS like?

      It is a very hollow feeling racquet. Not terribly stiff though, but not great in the feel department. I played with this racquet for about a year and my arm got used to it. I also had a lead in the 3 &9 position and used a leather grip plus overfrip.

      @@timothybaker6596 thanks for your response :) Would you say the cortex technology helps with the dampening of vibrations? And how open is the string pattern? Would you say it has a very high launch angle or is it fairly controlled? Thanks again

      @@timothybaker6596 FYI, I am currently using the babolat pure strike 18x20 1st gen which I really like because it gives me loads of control which I need for my game. I am looking for a racket that has a similar amount of control as my current racket but just gives a bit more spin, and I am hoping that the pure aero VS is the one, because I have played with an aero pro drive in the past and I really love the aeromodular beam.

    Another great video... I'm not sure if you've tried Yonex VCore SV 98, looks quite similar to these rackets. It's a 98 sq inch, 16x20 string pattern. I keep going back to the SV 98 because of the backhand. I also got a one-handed and it just doesn't feel right/natural and takes a long time to adjust.

    The aero VS is basically the halloween candy corn of 98s- its 100% mediocre in every regard.
    The ET 98 outclasses it in all respects, but then again, all yonex 98s do as well.
