In my last video, we laid down the entire kitchen floor and made all the cuts to the tile only to find out something went a bit wrong on the last day. I also headed to the rose bowl flea & a hand painted wallpaper showroom called Gracie to grab some inspo for the home!

If you buy books and plan on removing the dust jackets when you style shelving, save the dust jackets! If you decide at a later date to sell the books, the value will be higher if the book has its dust jacket. Also, fine art books tend to hold their value better than other titles

That wallpaper from Gracie's was breathtaking. I went on their website to drool. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment now, but I used to have a 1923 craftsman home, including a formal dining room. I would have spent thousands on some of this wallpaper if I had seen it back then. Your home is beautiful, love watching designing it.
Drew, you handled the tile setback like a champ! Also, when Justin said he found the perfect table, but they won’t message him back I felt it in my core. 😂 So sad when we find the perfect piece, but can’t get a response 😭😭

Ah, the joys of home improvement! The more you do it the more you’ll learn. My husband and I are now too old for this kind of thing but the satisfaction of a perfect home created by us is priceless!

So happy the tile correction was easier than most! Someone told me years ago to always get a "tile man" because they are worth the money. I believe you are "The Exception To The Rule!" I tiled a bathroom once and it was so pathetic I don't want to ever talk about it - lol. You are truly the hardest working design renovator I've ever seen! Please remember to use those knee pads whether or not your knees hurt - you'll thank me one day - seriously! Best of everything to you, Doll 💖

@@lonefox It can be time consuming for sure - I guess that is why the pros can charge what they do! I know you're glad that wrong mortar came up easier and you didn't have to bust it out and start over with every one of those stones. You did a great job - very impressive!

I kinda think Justin is his employee, but I like the sentiment in your post.
The little browny cups are ment for a kind of wine sweet and thick, (called "olorosos") like Sherry wine, and for other kind of white, young and dry wines called "manzanilla" and "fino". Most of them are typical from a particular part of Spain (Andalucía). Here, those cups are called "catavinos" (the translation would be something like wine-testers 😂)

All the beautiful pottery was really big in the 80’s. I have a great collection which I didn’t want to get rid of, so I stored it all away when the trends changed. I’m glad I kept them because they are back on trend again! Just shows you!

I'm a potter and I'm always so interested in the things you pick up. I send so much stuff that I make to the thrift store thinking that it's not good enough to keep but then I see you picking stuff up that is so irregular and interesting, I'm thinking twice about stuff that I give away to the thrift stores.
When I find a handmade piece at the thrift store- it’s considered a GEM to me! 🤩 I bet yours are just that!

I so enjoy the flea market vlogs. The tiling looks amazing. Your positive response when you mess up is so encouraging to me. Not everything goes according to plan but if you look at it as a learning experience and go on and do something else (flea marketing!!!) it’s all good and positive. Sorry to hear that you have trouble with the tiles and the mortar. But try to see it positive, when you're done with the house, you will have learnt sooo much and you can laugh about your problems you had when you started. Seeing your videos of going to the markets reminds me of when I was younger going to the flea markets with my parents. They used to collect antiques, mainly glass dinner sets (ruby red antique and another one) and my dad was very into old oil lamps and vintage glass light fixtures like old Tiffany that looked like stained glass. They got other random antiques too. I loved to go and get steamed hot dogs from the food cart when we went and walk around looking at all the stuff.
Drew I just wanted to say that you’re an inspiration and I hope you continue to be happy and successful. I found your journey renovating your new house to be very real. We recently built our dream home and I tell you it’s a lot of back and forth. A lot of errors that needed to be redone. You’re doing all of this mostly on your own which is so fascinating and incredible. Wishing you the best. 💜💜

I also love Studio pottery! It’s one of my favorite things to thrift for. I often use them as pots for my plants! It gives a uniqueness to my home that you can’t buy from the box store😊 I’m excited you are going to be offering some of your finds on your online store!
