Awesome video, I have exactly the same model and my EGR was in the same shocking state as your's. Started this morning just after 9, done a dusted before 10!!! Less than an hour and it drives much better now. Thank you
Great video man, so smooth and nicely explained. Not to much talking you go straight to the point. I cleaned it with wd40, mine was not in bad shape as yours but I thought it will be even worse. First try ever and did it all thanks too you. Can I manualy open and close it, how much it should open in milimeters. (Y)
Click on this video because it said Audio 2.0TDI but that engine is not the one I have...mine is 2011 2.0 TDI. Great video though and I think I need an electric ratchet now..
I removed the egr and put a race pipe in lue of it on my 01 alh tdi. So far no issues or check engine lights. Only thing I’ve noticed is the rough shut off because of the absence of the anti shutter valve.
@south wales rider I would say yes, and also a more modest and reliable set up if you tune , you won’t have to worry about the factor of a slow accumulation of soot buildup in your intake. Definitely worth cleaning your intake out and installing a race pipe. I think it was only like 15 $ and it had a optional output for a boost gauge
Hi mate, do you know if the Audi A5 EGR valance in the same place? I’m having issues with my a5 running too lean. The warning light says air leak but all the breather and air intake manifold have all been replaced with brand new parts by the garage but It’s still running too lean. Wondering if the EGR valve is the problem.
Great job - the right tools make a difference eh!? Can't believe the build-up! I have a 2009 Passat CC 2.0TDI - will be removing the ASV valve for cleaning (at the front of the engine). I'm assuming the EGR is at the back of the engine after the MAF?
Such a good video!!! 😍I followed this step by step on the exact same model turns out this isn't problem but it's a problem ruled out wish you could do more vids on same model that cranks over but won't start as i am stuck any suggestions on injectors as car is showing no faults thanks
Cleaned my egr as shown, appears it is still malfunctioning.. Got a quote from Audi to purchase new EGR valve for $1500, that seems excessive.. What other options could I pursue?
Hahaha mate, you should see the newer CR TDI engines where and how the EGR is located. Piece of cake on this video. No they didn't acknowledge the issue with the EGRs.
if EGR pipe goin behind engine so yes. there is one more 10mm bolt. i was taking mine as well. hard to remowe coz oil metal pipe is on the way and not possible to remove egr pipe untill you unscrew that metal oil pipe...
wtf i had a frd just replace a faulty egr in his audi. it was just like your's dirty as hell. should have just clean and give a try. bloody egr cost 1800$. i have been scam. audi do give lots of problem after 4yrs of driving.
Electric ratchet is so useful, never thought I needed it until I got one
This is the best step by step video I've ever watched push this this will go far
Thank you so much bro... exactly the same thing ... thought something like my turbo was gone... Cleaned it and now all good and driving fine

Excellent
Mine was exactly the same and i cleaned it out with WD 40 now its ok. Thanks a lot bro.
Just brought a 2005 audi a4 avant s line with a egr failure and I'm hoping this will fix it. Wish me luck
Top man as always
top video clear and precise nice one bro!
this guy has a nice tutorial voice
Awesome video really clear, dead easy to follow
Need to see a review of the ratchet, looks decent!
Need more videos mate
Very good way of explaining everything made it look easy
Glad you liked it

Glad the video helped. You can manually open and close it with a vacuum pump

I don't know why i watched this lol I have a 1.8t nice vid
Brown Magik Its good and knowledgeable experience to have
It’s pretty easy on a transversely mounted engine on the golf or Jetta you have to remove the intake off I believe the EGR hits the firewall

Hi great video tried this at mine and tried push it Open but it only opens a couple millimeters how far should the egr open on this engine?

Hi I’ve just been told I need to drain the coolant to carry out replacing the valve is this correct?
Just blank it, so much better for the engine
Rjfb 97 I think that is the best idea to be honest

How do you delete egr on this engine, is it doable? Thanks
I have got similar model which is running so poorly almost as if it is misfiring and rattling too. Could it be EGR? Or sth else?
Help is appreciated

Is it the same procedure on a 3.0 tdi 2011?
Would a bad egr cause the car to go in limp mode and have no boost ?
Yep you will lose power
Can you do a video on how to remove the intake and clean it?
I will try to do one when I have a suitable car
What is the tool used?
Did you ever do the review n the tool? What’s the name of it
Isn`t this this part of the MOT? I thought it`s an instant failure from now if the EGR is removed or blanked?
Stefan Oprica my mg zt pasees mot with no egr and a decat they don't even do emissions tests just a visual smoke check
Stick engine cover back on they won't see it and they not bothered
Can we replace it for audi a5 2.0 tdi 2012 model ? My mechanic says we can not because its electric something. Somebody confirm.
Anyone know where the egr on a audo a5 2013 is? B8.5 i think

I’m about to get this project started. I noticed your comment, seems like you are implying that the CR TDI’s not as easy.
Is this the same as a 2015 vw golf tdi?
nope way worse on the golf 1600tdi
Wow this looks nothing like a Jetta!
hey bro, my intake hose is fking stuck i cant take it off ;/
are there any additional screws somewhere?
if EGR pipe goin behind engine so yes. there is one more 10mm bolt. i was taking mine as well. hard to remowe coz oil metal pipe is on the way and not possible to remove egr pipe untill you unscrew that metal oil pipe...
I have audi a4 avant b7 2.0 tdi 2004.. So how to make stututu noise?
Get a Nissan Skyline....lol
Not all A4 cars have the same set up as this car
Yes this is a BPW 2.0 TDI Engine
Why not clean it first?
Contact me if you want to turn it off and add more hp.

What electric ratchet was it? Think it's time to invest
Yes I will post you a link
I support what you do but "a egr" and "a audi"? Really..?
AceCZF696 What do you mean?
