Why everyone on the Left HATES Destiny

  • Destiny reacts to debates with other leftist content creators frequently, and some of Destiny’s craziest and best debate and livestream moments have caused many leftist streamers such as Hasan Piker and Vaush to hate him. But why do people hate Destiny?
Many have tried to explain why Vaush hates Destiny or why Hasan hates Destiny, but simply watching a video where Vaush calls out Destiny or a Vaush vs Destiny debate is not likely to answer the question. There are several instances where streamer Destiny debates Hasanabi or other leftist streamers but viewing these can only give a surface level understanding of the Destiny vs Hasan drama. There are four fundamental reasons why Destiny is hated by the left.
One reason people hate Destiny is because of his association with controversial right wing figures like Lauren Southern or Sneako. Destiny was also heavily criticized for his opinions concerning Kyle Rittenhouse. But there is more to it than that.
Stephen Bonnell II, better known as Destiny, is a former Twitch streamer and current RUclips streamer known for his political content and debates. Destiny is hated by most other popular leftist streamers, and this is why.

It's also the only possible choice that that has no positive impact. I don't care how absurdly optimistic someone is, there is never going to be a time where bad behavior is eradicated. Racism, drug use, fraud, violence etc.... these things will always exist.
Now, if these angry critics were genuinely interested in solving a problem, they would have to admit that we would need to convert people. Isolating racists, criminals and addicts is only going to force those people together and galvanize their beliefs/behavior. But, if they did want those people to change, they probably know that it would require engaging with them.
I always felt like being Progressive meant that you should try to be tolerant and encourage positive beliefs and behavior. This lust for punishment is very regressive if you ask me.

He was saying it as a knock on there masculinity (it was meant to be that way because he doesn't refer to the behavior of Jackson in any way when responding to haz, when confronted about why he refused to shake Jackson's hand. But was willing to spend the day with haz joking around. Haz even mentioned that too. He even makes that same jab at haz in a later debate. Haz even says next time I see you it won't be so nice.) But this is the same guy who will throw ad homonyms at someone he's screaming at as fast as he can before he leaves the call like 2 minutes later after he rage quits. The funny thing about that too is it's not like the other person is always matching his level of unhinged angry ad homonym throwing tirades some of them think they can carrying on a reasonable discussion after that with a calm voice as if destiny is going to take the conversation seriously again or as if he isn't going to rage quit like right after that. I don't mean to throw all his dirty laundry out there as if he's absolutely terrible but from what I've seen him say and do tells me he isn't consistent with his rhetoric or actions.

I know I'm late but let me explain more. Yeah its weird when destiny debates or invites questionable far right people but it should noted as said in the video that he never agrees with their extremist points of views. I mean not to long ago Hasan interviewed a houthi terrorist and what makes it different was that Hasan tried to be friends with him and he even called him Luffy. As for rittehnhouse you have to remember that case was so politicized that even if you know law you will to be labeled as a far right by most people on the left it was crazy back then. I should note Destiny is more of a neoliberal I think but you have to also remember left wing is more general in terms of types. Destiny is mostly hated by people in the far left and woke ideolegy. Also I find it ironic when some leftist streamers criticized Destiny for using wikepedia but many like Hasan get their information from Twitter which is the most biased place on the internet.

Destiny is an odd one for me. As an older person on Twitch and RUclips I sort of had a difficult time finding a streamer who I could learn from, but also relate to. I watched Hasan for about a year, but for various reasons, I stopped somewhere before the pandemic.
Instead of becoming a cringe Hasan hate watcher, I thought the next best thing would be to watch Destiny. Didn't know much about him other than s past Hasan relationship. After checking out some of his debates on RUclips, he seemed to be a more nuanced Hasan, ideology wise. Pretty much agreed with him at the same rate as Hasan, but Destiny had much more nuanced and complex topics and conversations and welcomed a debate or conversation with literally anyone. I really respected that.
But I must've joined right before one of the worst arcs ever. Red pill. lol And look, Destiny is going to look sane next to most red pillers by default, but that besides the point. I am an emotional person, and I value that trait in people I respect or respect. Destiny has to be the most unemotional person I have ever came across on the platform. lol And that lack of emotion really giveshim lack of perspective. To where he has a lot of off base and tone deaf takes when it comes to relationships and how he treats his. He is very transactional and I find it so offputting and toxic. To each other own, but as someone only a year older, I just can't relate to him on an emotional level. And logic can only get you so far, especially with topics in which you have to have emotional maturity to understand the nuances. It gives him a lot of blind spots that he can't eben consider a lot of imes. He is allowed to live his life how he pleases, but damn its anything but normal or healthy, for so many various reasons I won't ramble off. Just seems like he is forever stuck in his young edgelord, hyper contarian ways. lol
I will end this mini novel by saying that when he really wants to be, he has the rare ability to be the biggest political influencer on this platform, and that will always be a positive. I still watch a panel or debate with him on it. I respect that he isn't afraid of having tough conversations. It's definitely where he separates himself from all other content creators. But with the way he acts its difficult to recomend him to people I know, especially my age. Which is ironically Destiny's age. lol

    • @iandecent

I'm around the same age too, and I feel like Destiny is the only debate streamer that resembles anything close to reasonable. But I don't think Destiny is necessarily unemotional. Pretty good video. As someone from the middle east it is excruciatingly painful to listen to the average leftist ideas online until I found a destiny clip during the trump election. Not to suck him off but, unlike the bots on the left he arrives at his positions independently. He states his reasoning so he can be argued out of them. And most importantly, he is entertaining to watch.

One of the most egregious things was whenever he would recieve criticism from a leftie he would automatically assume you're a hate watcher or in bad faith, or telling him how to do his 16 hour a day exhausting job. The guy stopped learning the moment he became a react content creator, sometime around when he was getting 2-3k veiwers. He's a head in sand himbo, which is fine. Just would rather someone more serious, and more logical take up my cause. Followed destiny in the SC2 days, but not much in between, but started again about a year after the fallout. Sucks they fell out tbh, there's a world where Hasan is an honest dude trying to persuade the undecided. It's not that Hasan is afraid of upsetting his audience, he does it all the time when they're out of line, he's just afraid of nuance and going too deep on subjects he's out of his depth on.

Ok. I don't know Destiny. But the first and second reason sounds very stupid. Like being friends with someone who may have different views from you, doesn't make you agree to their beliefs. There's something political people always forget its existence, it's called **the middle ground**. And some of these stuff are just crazy leftist doesn't wanna listen to anyone that slightly disagree with them. Alright before you call me a radical rightist...I have to confess that I used to watch rightist content, and now I stopped. I'm still somewhat right leaning, but I'm not the radical 'let's commit genocide against ___' rightist...ya know.
I am aware that some radical rightist are also like this, but for some reason, I see this more often wuth leftist and this is why when I try going out of rightist content circles,I just stopped watching political content entirely.
A big question is,are these the same type of people who hates Shoeonhead? If so,I am not listening to them, their reason is immediately invalid, because shoe is the most reasonable and agreeable leftist content creator.
All in all it's just ego, echo chamber, and radicalness. And like the reason he says crazy things, I can relate to that,if I were to do a rant lifestream, there's a 99% chance I'll slip out some of my crazy thoughts. He'd be better on whatever platform he can cut parts of the video that be says crazy things out.
Also leftist doing this,is actually pushing middle ground people to the right, because they think left is insane. Stop doing this, leftist, you can do better.

My main issue with him is mostly his hyperbolic statements. It’s not like hyperbole is a problem to me, it’s more the manner and tone he does when he does it. Part of the problem is that the more egregious examples that he later has to water down seem like examples of him acting on emotion before really thinking about it. not to mention his tone when he’s being hyperbolic or joking is very similar to how he can sound when he’s angry. I also think the dude is just not a leftist, he says he is, but then proceeds to have strange, bad or borderline right-wing political beliefs. He is all over the place and sure-footed all at once. Destiny likes challenging people and then using his "logic" to "help" them understand how things "should" be. When he is challenged, or even attacked for things he says or believes that are insane, he questions it, responds with a challenge of his own or just outright mocks the other side's point-of-view in a formally condescending (or informal if its like a streamer or something) manner.

So I get the guy is an asshole when he is debating but he has shown that he thinks through the issues he talks about and you can always understand where he's coming from. An asshole yes, immoral i would say no.

@@victoryudoh4626 I didn’t say he was exactly right-winged. I said he has beliefs that are “strange, bad or BORDERLINE right-wing”. If I were to say what belief system he is I wouldn’t really be able to tell you because he really doesn’t fit neatly in any of them. If you forced me to pick I would maybe say like a centrist with a big BIG ego about it. But even that doesn’t work because he’s anything but neutral about anything, he loves having a “take” about literally everything. But yeah I would say he’s a pretty bad guy and idk why you came on here and said that, you just self-reported tbh.

Destiny doesn't really debate. What he does is pretty much steam roll and manipulate. That's why there is no third party moderater to keep "debaters" on topic.

Good video and I think Destiny has been largely unfairly maligned by the left. But I think this video isn't telling the whole truth about why Vaush won't debate Destiny.
Destiny is so full of hatred and bitterness towards Vaush that he gets way too emotional about it. There's no point debating someone who has such strong feelings towards you. Maybe once Destiny calms down there is a chance of reconciliation

Thank you for watching and commenting. From what I've seen, Vaush is more bitter and emotional toward Destiny than vice-versa (theie panel discussion on hanging chads and fascism is a good example). But I'm not gonna act like I have the full context plus I'm a Destiny fan so I'm biased.

i used to be a Destiny fan but ive become disillusioned by him the past couple of years. He seems to have become increasingly reactionary and spiteful and contradicts his own views if it means dunking on a person he hates. When he implied that neonazis and white nationalists like fuentes and southern are more moral than the leftists he had fights with, it made me realize his idea of morality is how nice someone is to him, even if that person is openly bigoted. His unhinged obsession with Hasan and Vaush also made me realize that Destiny needs therapy.

Steven has not changed much over the years aside from changes in ways he engages with people which he talks about openly. He is like the least spiteful person out there and does not care about grudges lol. Your observations are just so off. He's been open to talking to Vaush the entire time. You've been manipulated by the spiteful caricatures of him created by unhinged lefties
