Thank you for the video. I experienced severe illness and lost a considerable amount of hair. I was hestitant to use Rogain topical for women and now I feel confident to use it. Great news.
Hi Dr.Liu! I’m loving all these informative videos! Since we are on the topic of hairloss, my husband who is 29 is suffering severe hair loss particularly on his crown area. His hair is thinning out so much and this has affected his confidence. For months now, he’s been talking about going overseas to Turkey to get a hair transplant because he thinks prp isn’t worth it esp due to the severity of the balding. Are you able to make a video on different types of hair transplants available? I know many viewers will benefit from your videos! Keep up the great content, much appreciated 💖💖
Hi Dr Liu! First of all, thank you for this video. I have few questions : -For someone with androgenic alopecia (AA), when you say they have to keep using Rogain but maybe not everyday, what do you mean? Is it like 2-3 times a week or more? Will the results be as good as if they would use it everyday? -Also, if we experienced hairloss due to low ferritine and started rogain and ferritine supplementation, how do we know if the hair grow is from ferritine or rogain (and thus, if the hair will remain after we stop rogain)? -If we continue using rogain for too long without having AA, will we loss more hair when we stop? How long is too long? Finally, do you have a video showing how to best apply the product? Thank you so much
Wow i really appreciate your videos. Theyre impressively concise yet very comprehensive. I think a lot of other content creators I've seen don't quite explain the caveats of the products they mention as well as you do, especially dermatologists. Definitely subscribing and sharing this video when I'm helping others with alopecia issues!
Thank you so much for this video! I have androgenetic alopecia and I use topical liquid minoxidil for a little more than a month (I would liked to discovered it in my teens 😭) so it's too early to see benefits (also if i noticed more hair on my forehead) I have a question do you think liquid version penetrate better into the scalp than foam version or it's the same? Also do you think it’s better to put on dry scalp or on damp scalp to make minoxidil penetrate faster?
Do you mind explaining to me in layman’s terms about the anecdotal side effects of dark circles, headaches, bloating etc. Dr.dray said it could be used for eyebrows and beards. I was only using it on a spot on my scalp and the front of eyebrows and got tension headaches, water retention, and bad dark circles. Is it reversible? I hear the function of rogaine involves inhibiting collagen around the follicle and migrates systemically and causing aging in the skin...
I am currently using rogaine, I started December 3rd. I had headaches every day for the first two or so weeks almost immediately after putting it on, and some burning, but now I don't feel it anymore and don't get headaches. So it's been 26 days for me so far.
What happens if you stop minoxidil? If you stop applying minoxidil to your scalp, you'll gradually lose any hair that you've regrown as a result of the medication.
How long should shedding phase last? Would you say shedding is noticed within the first couple weeks to a month? After how many weeks/ months of use should shedding ease? Personally I’m very concerned about the shedding. I am a month into use and I have had significant shedding over the last couple weeks. Thank you. I did hear you say that shedding indicates it’s working to you.
@@franmorr1966 I have really bad experience with minoxidil tbh! The shedding makes my hair look more worse and thin than before I started using minoxidil! I used it for 8 months with no regrowth, except I see miniatured hair falling out everywhere.
You mentioned that topical minoxidil is the only proven treatment for hair loss. How about oral minoxidil? I just switched from topical to oral. Now I’m worried that the oral will not help me.
oral is how they discovered the benefits of minoxidil for hair loss so it does work but it can also cause other hair growth (like on the face or body) which may be unwanted. foam minoxidil would allow you to target the scalp but you can choose whichever vehicle you prefer!

I started today. I hope it will work. 🙏

The shedding will last around 1-2 months
@@lyching5709 Thank you. That seemed to be about how long it lasted. It was frightening.
@@franmorr1966 how is your hair now? Are they still shedding a lot?
@@lyching5709 only over the last couple of wash days have I seen a noticeable decrease in the shedding. I’m very happy about that!

I'm trying it now - my first day. I'm still not sure when I can wash my hair. I hope someone has an answer.
