Minoxidil is an effective and safe treatment for various types of hair loss (or alopecias). Available over-the-counter, it is inexpensive and easily accessible. But many people give up on it because it may make hair greasy and oily. This is particularly true for women and men with long hair.
Dr. Barusco has devised a simple and quick "hack" to apply Minoxidil to the scalp that will eliminate or minimize the greasy effect in the hair, therefore allowing its use and benefit. The technique is explained in the video.

Thank you thank you thank you so much for this! I have a love hate relationship for minoxidil mostly because of how it leaves your hair. I tried this and my hair feels just fine!!!

I applied minoxidil for the first time today. I still have hair,it's only thinning very slowly but after a few years of this,I thought I'd bite the bullet. I applied it using he technique shown here and it was easy peasy lemon squeezy! Thanks for posting this video! Alopecia sucks 😂

I've never been so frustrated with a product before. How does it spread everywhere on the scalp when applied just on specific areas, even when rubbing it in. Seems like such a small amount to be able to rub in everywhere on the scalp? Excited, not excited...

I use scalp applicator. I’m too busy. I apply within a minute all over the scalp. Then I add a hydrating serum second pass or oil & call it a day. Past 3 months I’m regrowing hair! Not sure when the “fall out” phase occurs with this medication but I plan on long term. Costco has $8 bottles & lasts month. Hope this helps you!

Hi I just started using minoxidil I bought the liquid 2% I wanted to make sure there are no immediate side effects. I may upgrade to 5%. Doing this twice a day is very inconvenient. The dropper is pretty useless so I got a thin 1 ml syringe and that is perfect to control the drops that come out. I use my thumb and index finger to pull the stem of the syringe down while holding the syringe in between middle and ring finger instead of pressing the top button, like giving a shot. This works great. Total control of drops.

Thank you for this very informative video. I wish you were my doctor. I get a rushed 2-5 minute appointment with my dermatologist and am always left with a million questions about routine, supplements, etc.

This was great! I’m just starting Minoxidil (😩) and the q-tip Application is going to be better than trying to blob the foam on with my fingers. Thank you for posting.

Thank you for this video! I just started last night with the dropper & it was running down my forehead & making the hair 2 inches from my scalp wet & greasy. Thanks again!

Seems like good info. I'm confused though about using minoxidil every other day. Everything I've come across says you have to use minoxidil 1-2 times a day. Is there research or clinical trials showing minoxidil is effective if used only every other day?

Thank you for the video. I’m about to start using this product. I bought it already but too afraid to start reading many controversies…My trichologist said it is okay to apply the product on wet hair and dry with the hairdryer, while internet says the opposite. What would you say about it?

THANK YOU! This is SOOOOO helpful! I'm just about to start this process, and it seemed a bit overwhelming. I appreciate your thorough explanation and demonstration. I'm going to mention your ideas to my dermatologist when I see her next time.
