It's so refreshing seeing people who are either half Americans or foreigners living in the USA actually being connected to their own/second or more cultures. I think most people who are not native or not fully American but live in the US, are fully stripped off their culture or culture they share with being American (it feels funny pairing the word "culture" with the US but I'll just let it be). His parents did a great job keeping him connected to his roots !

reminder: there is plenty of culture in the US (indigenous) that should not be forgotten :))

He is neither HALF American nor a foreigner living in the USA. He is a full-blooded American of French descent. He is no different than the rest of the American population, the vast majority of whom are American of foreign descent through being the children of foreigners or immigrants. I have no idea where you are getting your information from, if you have not traveled in the US or if you’ve only visited small towns but most Americans retain the heritage of their parents as well as having an American identity. Heck, there are whole sections of the US where the common language spoken is Spanish and not English. Timothee is from NYC, as am I. I can assure you that we keep our foreign cultures as an integral part of our lives in NYC.

Depends on the generation. 3rd generation folks and on tend to lose more and more of their culture, especially if they end up marrying ethnicities outside their own and moving to states with a smaller demographics of their own people.
