Well the Colombian accent itself has a natural flow. My favorite is the Venezuelan accent, which also shares the same musicality as its sister country of Colombia, but is also very breathy and airy. Another favorite is the Argentinian accent, which like Venezuela, has Italian influences that impart a flowy-ness to their dialect. For the clearest-sounding Spanish, I like to listen to Mexicans (speak much slower than most Latinos, although a bit too formal) and Peruvians (clear in their diction and enunciation).

Yes, Latin America was naturally diverse, overall, before the modern day social engineering of diversity. The Spanish and French (and Portuguese) were very tolerant of mixing DNA in a time when the English thought it was evil. Over the centuries, immigration to Latin countries has aided this diversity with Chinese, Lebanese, Russian, German, and Japanese communities. Many of our families have taken our bloodlines to the US where we are now influencing the old Anglo-Saxon order with our families' traditions, cultures, and DNA. This should never be taken for granted since the US has had a long history of rejecting nonwhites, second class whites (Irish, Italians, Slavs, etc), and especially the mixed-race (miscegenation). We have a special mission to prove that we are not lesser.

Omg! I had no idea Anya Taylor Joy was Argentinian and spoke Spanish. I’m so shocked that Alexis Bledel’s ethnicity is Mexican/Argentinian. She speaks perfect Spanish as well. My mom always tells me the story about how I told her I didn’t wanna be Latino or speak Spanish because I grew up in a white predominantly Jewish neighborhood on Long Island so she got a job that took us to Peru for almost a year when I was 13. We traveled to Argentina , Chile and Uruguay too and that experience changed my life . I came back a proud Latino . I became aware of the advantage I had for speaking Spanish . I embraced my culture and I’m the proudest Latino you’ll meet . It’s helped me with job opportunities , It’s helped me traveling and making friends in different countries , even my closest friends here in nyc are Hispanic . I don’t have kids but my brother has a son and I pay for him to take private Spanish classes so that he has the same experiences as my brother and I did .

Ale, you went to LaTam as tender American meat sans sazón, and locals straightened you up. Masculine Latin roles are super specific , they leave no ambiguity or smooth edges but like none. if you had had a myriad of friends from the start you would have had a cultural Baptism. Perhaps your parents wanted you to assimilate completely . But you need to add friends from various other ethnic backgrounds in the mix. everyone on earth is a part of a larger puzzle and we need all pieces. I cannot imagine a life without having different ethnicity around me .
During your many travels did someone give you a sobriquet ? because its a part of the Latin culture. We had a salvadoreña maid , she nicknamed me Flaco. Literally my entire family calls me Flaco or Flaquito.
