This video alone has been infinitely helpful for my process in tanning the largest hide I've ever tanned. Been at it for a few years but Im on the first full on cowhide. Your experience in this video is apparent, thank you!

I've seen small leather work, but I've never seen a large and wide leather work. Thank you.

Thank you guys for making this video. For those of us that don’t have much access to fresh hides, do you have an opinion on the ones for purchase from say Tandy or other store?

Does gauge of the metal ring matter?
Would (ruffly) 9 or10 guage, 3" wide iron strips be appropriate?

my grandpa did all his hides on plywood boards in a heated drying room, coons, beavers, deer and cows, he just nailed them up fur side down

I made these smaller rings out of the metal tred off from an old wooden wheeled wagon. I made the first one 6.5 foot diameter so I could get it through a walk-through door. Then I saw I could make it 7 foot and still get it through the door at a angle. I did this so I could put them in my pump house where they would not freeze.
