Instructions not clear: bought seventeen angle grinders
Think of all the projects ypu vould make with seventeen angle grinders!
I don't smoke, but I really want to make a tobacco pipe. The thing is that I don't want to make a simple average size pipe, I want to make one with a comically long mouthpiece and I think I'm gonna do it in the near future haha. Thank you for the tutorial ;D Cheers!
I don't smoke either! I also like the idea of making a disproportionate pipe. hope you succeed with the build! I can recommend making it from briar root or cherry wood. then use carnauba wax to make a final finish on it :)
@@HallbeamDesign Thank you for the advice. I'll keep that in mind ;D
@@HallbeamDesign Well, hello again! I just came back to tell you that I made it ;D It's 93 cm long and seems to be working, but I'll have test that with some tobacco soon haha
@@juhexek that is huuge! You are more then welcome to send pictures of it!
@@HallbeamDesign Sorry for the late answer. Sure thing! I'll send some pics to your email as soon as I can ;D
I don't know why, but I'm going to by myself a decent angle grinder. Keep up the good work.
Good for you! after my upcoming video you will be even more eager to buy one. check out my instagram and you'll get a heads up, and thank you so much!
That is a beautiful pipe! Very nice work and a very helpful video. Thank you!
thanks for watching! yes, it turned out big and nice :)
Not a smoker but enjoyed watching that process. 😁
I don't smoke either. If you liked this video, there will be a new one in a month or so. Glad you liked the video.
This was a very good example of how simple things can be. Thank you for your time.
Indeed! A lot of people dont realize that you dont need expensive tools to create nice things :)
vilken underbar svensk brytning :D
Helt rätt. Swenglish i sin renaste form :)
Fantastic job you have inspired me to try this.
Thank you for taking your time and telling me this. This is the purpose of this video, I want to show people that you dont need nice tools to create things. I wish you good luck! And if you want you could send pictures to me of your creations to my instagram (hallbeamdesign) or massage me If you have any questions :)
Great video! Now i know even I can attempt to make my own lul
More videos regarding smoking pipes are coming soon. With even simpler tools :))
@@HallbeamDesign Awesome! Thanks man
@cheekycheeseburgerbuns No worries. More info will be available on my instagram and community tab here on RUclips tomorrow :
Love this video! Never smoked a pipe but you can bet I’ll be making one here soon.
It is a really nice project to work on! I will be doing more of these videos soon. With more tips and methods :)
Beautiful 👌👍
Thank you! I will make more pipes in a video soon! :)
Design is so simple yet so beautiful. Would look even better with a striped mouthpiece in my opinion. If I can find a mouthpiece to my liking I'm going to have to try building one myself.
Very simple design indeed! The video does not show how big it is in reality. it is almost like a fist, which means it will last an extremely long time. There are alot of places to order custom mouthpieces.
In one of my next videos I will make more smokingpipes, just to show how easy they are to make, with some tips along the way :)
Good luck with your build!
I have been looking for a video like this.
Great, there will be more released soon! :)
@@HallbeamDesign great you have show more then then anyone else I've seen on RUclips keep up the good work 👍
Thank you! I will keep uploading videos :) One of my ideas is to show people that you dont need expensive tools to create nice things :)
A beautiful piece, any 'pipeman' would be proud to own. Thank you for sharing :
Thank you, in one of my upcoming videos i will return to creating a few tobaccopipes :)
Really nice and simple work on that pipe and a nice video to, you got yourself a new subscriber 👍
Thanks! It was my first video on youtube :) really informative but the voiceover was done with my iPhone, also I did not edit the sound aswell.
Soon I will upload another tobacco pipe video, with more tips om how to make them with simple tools.
Saw that you follow me on instagram too. There will be teasers there for the upcoming videos.
Thank you for the subscribtions :)
Nice, i dont even know woodworking but this was intresting
Great! I will soon release more videos like this :) but better

Seals! Love it! You make it look so easy 😁
Seals! Thank you! It is much easier that most people think. Where are you from? :)
@@HallbeamDesign I live in Georgia in the US. You?
I'm from Sweden! You are the first one to comment "seals" on this video, and i'm hosting a giveaway in my next video. I think since you are the first to comment "seals" you deserve to be included in the giveaway as i want to show appreciation for individuals watching the whole video. Is it okay for you?
@@HallbeamDesign Yes sir! Thank you.
I will reach out to you in a while, to get your postal adress. Stay tuned :)
Lol for some reason I feel I need to go buy an angle grinder. Great video. New subscriber. Hoping to make a couple pipes this winter.
Do it! Its very versatile.
Thanks for your subscribtion!
In one of my next videos i will create more and different models of smoking pipes, so i suggest you stay tuned for that one :)
Buy a anglegrinder, you deserve it!
Very nice thankyou
I will make more videos regarding the construction of smoking pipes :) Glad you enjoyed this one :)
My compliments for the job and thank you for giving me hope! I would love to make tobacco pipes by myself but I've always think it needed too much gear. can you pleaese make a list of the tools you used? like the tipes of sandpaper and so on? thank you
It is very satisfying. Here are a list of the tools you need (same things as i use in this video, these are affiliate links so if you buy anything from these links after you have clicked on them, you will support my channel. Even if you buy something else after clicking the links)

👏👏👏
Thank you!
Thanks for the great info! That is a pretty pipe.
I think I’ll go buy another angle grinder 😂
Thank you for watching this video. If you already own one, you could always buy a new attachment for it. I myself are looking towards some of the arbortech attachments :)
28,821 angle grinders sold so far, I'm getting one now!
I really hope so! It is still my favorite power tool :)
Good for you i hope you will have a lot of use for it.
Very informative, but I'm surprised you didn't char or treat the bowel in some way. Can you smoke the pipe as is?
Good question! The owner had to char it or as we say "röka in" the smoking pipe. I have seen it a few weeks ago and it looks really good on both the outside and inside. It will need some more carnauba wax though as it is hard to apply a fair amount with the anglegrinder :)
My biggest question is where do you get your briar and do you work in meerschaum?
I get my briar from janzen-pfeifen.de/
I would love to create a pipe with meerschaum, I am going to create more videos regarding smoking pipes pretty soon (a lot better than this one) Going to look into how i could get my hands on some meerschaum.
Hello, what is the name of the wood you use
the tree is called "briar root" it grows in southern europe and north africa. if you want to buy it, it is usually available for purchase on pipe making websites. i paid $26 for the bit i use in the clip.
I ordered this briar root from janzen-pfeifen.de
*SEALS* what other wood could be used to make a pipe like this
I will try to create pipes from cherry in the future. There are a lot of different speices of wood to make them from depending on different sources. A lot of people only reccomend briar root due to some woods are containing different "bad" chemicals that will release when you light the tobacco inside.
I will try to make more from briar root and cherry as i've scoured the internet.
Hope this helps :)
Could birch bee used for making a pipe?
Birch wood is alot different compared to briar. They grain is different and it is not as hard. There are pipes made from birch wood, It will probably not last for ever.
If i had a lot of birch i would definetly make some birch pipes! Good luck :)
Where can you buy a piece of briar root?
I bought mine at janzen-pfeifen.de/
There are a lot of different suppliers. Quite expensive but really worth it :)
I all of a sudden have an itch to get a new angle grinder
You will be even more hungry for one after I release my next two videos :)
Buy one! they don't take up much space and you can do a lot with them :)
Acrylic? Not using celluloid Bakelite anymore?
I think it has become more expensive to manufacture and make pipe mouthpieces out of bakelite. However, it is still available to buy in some places. Bakelite is quite retro.
@@HallbeamDesign Thank you. I will treasure that pipes my grandpa left me. Especially knowing they’re scarce now.
Yes! Few things are as cool as really old tobacco pipes.
Saw your video and the wood you used. I live in the Sanoran desert area of the U.S.A. this area is known for ironwood. Only place it grows. If you would like a piece to make a pipe with, let me know. Will send it to you, just pay the ahipping shipping. Very hard wood. Look it up. 😊
This is very interesting! I have never heard of it before, did a google search and it looks extreme durable. Thank you for the oppurtunity :)
First i will have to check If its legal to import to EU, i will reach back to you soon!
How big is a piece of ironwood?
Gubbjävel means old man, its true. Make sure to call your father gubbjävel :D
With love!
Why when people make these videos the audio sucks, WTF speak up or get a better audio device.
You are right! After this video I bought a good microphone and i edit the audio files so that the viewers get a better experience. There will be another more detailed video regarding pipe making soon (with good audio)
You also need to use wood stain based on alcohol or water, because many of wood stains are actually toxic
Yes exactly, important not to take the wrong stain on the inside of the pipe where the tobacco will burn. The finish with carnauba wax is completely safe. Carnauba wax is even found in several ice creams as an ingredient.
Thanks for the comment!
don’t need an angle grinder, i made the pipe bit wit a hack saw and a file in like 20 minutes
good work! it's a very down-to-earth way to make your own tobacco pipe. I on the other hand, prefer to use power tools. I can imagine that it must be a nice feeling to have made the pipe with your own hands :)
