I needed this. I started my fpv adventure with motorised glider, but soon enough drones appeared. Got pulled into it, no regrets, but seeing this made me realise something. Thanks
Fabulous, i wish we had this sort of gear when i was flying slope soarers on the Devils Dyke etc, this was over 30 years ago, was good fun even then but it's just like being up there flying nowadays, great fun guys thanks...
Just beautiful....really atmospheric. Great to see the two operators wearing the gear and interacting during the flight. Fantastic technology available in R/C these days.
Thanks buddy 👍 Will be coming down to the club again soon. Will be retrofitting the turbine Freewing Avanti with headtracked DJI FPV. Hope get to meet you down there.
One day Im going to have to get my dominator 3 fpv headset working for a rc glider that I have. It will be sick!! I want to have on screen display so you know if your climbing thermals or not!!
Would love an additional video of this to see the goggle over-lay to see what they see! Would love to see the gps arrow pointing back at home and how it all looks!
Great video. Love the diverse content. Gives me loads of new ideas and inspiration. Thanks. Are the guys using DJI transmitters also for aircraft control functions to match the range of the fpv system, or traditional radios ???
Thanks Ray. Diverse is right! That's what we aim for. James and Jason using Radiomaster TX16S. Legally we have to stay within visual range of a spotter so traditional 2.4Ghz transmitters are fine but for security we use the Crossfire module.
Nicely done, Is that footage from " what you see through the goggles view" or separate HD Cam footage. I want a FPV system that doesn't look like crap and interference via the goggles view. You can fly crap analog with a go pro and show in a video great footage but what good is it when your flying. Thank you for a reply..
Yes, it is. DJI FPV. You need DJI FPV Goggles v2 and a DJI Air Unit with a camera. DJI Goggles: www.droneauthority.co.uk/products/dji-fpv-digital-hd-video-system-goggles?ref=gtld_zcywgt4 DJI Air Unit: www.droneauthority.co.uk/products/caddx-air-unit-polar-starlight-digital-hd-fpv-system?_pos=2&_sid=c47d15132&_ss=r&ref=gtld_zcywgt4
It doesn't have anything to do with DJI FPV. We use an Arduino based motion tracker mounted on the side of the goggles to transmit head movement via Bluetooth to the transmitter which in turn moves the pan/tilt servos in the RC aeroplane
Nice vid and kit. I'm looking for some advice. I used to be glider pilot tons of P1 experience from numerous uk clubs, but due to medical I've had to stop. Been thinking instead of my dji mavik I'd like to do the best thing closest to 'the good old days'. So I'd want fpv, panning camera, one of you guys mentioned what I think is a vario? I.e. beeping for height increase/decrease for soaring.. what should i start with given no rc glider, but numerous drones (no fpv) and lots of real life flying?
This is the latest and best RC FPV aeroplane we've tried. Comes with the Flight Controller installed and pre-configured if you buy the "RTH" version. You could easily add DJI FPV on top on a panning servo. Link to the aeroplane is in the video description and pinned comment. ruclips.net/video/_Na5V26wc6M/видео.html
Is that an INav system, Jason is using? I've experimented with one too on a small biplane. Sadly id became overweight with all the head-tracking stuff and didn't get off the ground. Which telemetry can you get into the DJI system now? When I tried a while ago, the support for DJI was a little poor.
Yep iNav 👍🏻 iNav now supports Betaflight osd elements so any DJI osd that works in Betaflight now works in iNav. It’s not comprehensive like analogue due to the way the osd works with DJI but you can have all the critical stuff such as height, speed, climb rate, way home, distance from home, amps, volts, mah used etc etc. DJI still absolutely fail to support the fpv community given what they make and they don’t seem interested in supporting osd with 3rd party products so it’s down to iNav Dev team to find work arounds. But thankfully they are cracking ways to do it slowly. INav 3.0 will have quite a few new osd features too.
@@ChasingContours It's a glider so I don't see the need for it to have more power to go faster. It'll just use the flight battery quicker. Must be some other reason folks want more power cause it's not obvious to me.
It is frustrating it isn't an open system. I think DJI will pay the price for that in the long run. Anyone else like Fatshark who come up with a system that delivers the image quality and low latency will put their FPV system in 2nd place fairly rapidly. DJI only seem to interested in selling FPV along with one of their drones sadly.

Looks awesome guys. FPV gliding is truly a phenomenal experience when you get it right.
Sure is! Awesome fun!
Sometimes a peaceful relaxing flight is a really nice experience vs tearing about the sky.
nothing comes closer to real flying as FPV flying, thx 4 sharing
Agree. We've come a long way since doing that a few years back. How about this? ruclips.net/video/BnL3KrZGIJU/видео.html
Unwinding in DJI FPV style. So immersive!!! I dig your content guys, keep them coming!
Lots more DJI FPV projects coming Michael. You'll like them if you enjoyed this !
What a great way to unwind. I’m so jealous you got the DJI FPV. I’m thinking of getting it as a birthday present to myself. LOL
Its a no brainer. Lots more fun than line of sight flying.
Neat footage from DJI FPV. Thanks for sharing your fun experience!
Thanks for watching
That's fantastic
Very cool video. I’m just getting into this myself and loving it. Have a Bixler with DJI, Kopilot and panning ready to test. Nice one guys 👍
Have fun!

you should use the phoenix 2400.
there is much more place inside and it flys very stabil

I had multiple flyaways with my zohd kopilot, after i switched it to a matek f411 wse the plane flew 30+ flights perfectly fine

Sorry about that. Jason might offer that again in the future. I use the gimbal designed by Painless360. You'll find it on 3d thingiverse
hmm, the RC antenna is horizontal, why is this not optimal? and AU on the wing, this negates all the aerodynamics of the airframe...

Yup. ZOHD
