Flat Serve Progressions Coming Soon…

🙌🙌
What's your racket here? Wilson Shift?
Good content. In my teaching experience - 30 years back - the instruction "repeat 50 to 100 times" is what people tend to ignore 🙂.
When starting tennis without coach it took me about 6 weeks doing half an hour of such drills 2 to 3 times a week to go from a pancake serve to a correct serve that could be used reasonably stable in matches. Might go faster or take longer - just wanted to give some reference.
Yes, as a coach I like to quote my physiotherapist friend:14,000 repetitions to form a new neural, automated pathway. 100 repetitions it's months/years of work. As I look around the tennis club (,it was the same in golf)... they're not interested... just using their own, easiest, instinctive methods eg frying psn handle grips, chest facing forward serve.
The iguana in the background is the real MVP!
This is rather good. Thanks Nick.
I have a somewhat useful kick and slice but will do these progressions a couple of times a week to reinforce proper mechanics and to help dial in some more consistency
Damn I love this! Gonna do it
Great lesson Coach Nick! Thank you for posting this video my friend.
🔥
Perfect Nik
🙏
Excellent. I intend to try these. Here’s hoping as I haven’t had much success learning spin serves
💯🙏
Lovely progressions❤
Thank you Nikola. Yeah, it is very hard to resist rotating into the contact😢. Toughest thing for me.
🙏
For me this is one of the most important video you Nick did, mostly bc I need to be better on the serve. My flat serve is quite good, but the kick and slice serve should be better!
Thanks a lot for your work! 👌🙌👍❤
💯🙌
Thanks Nick, great explanations
🙏
thankyou, excellent imformation and coaching
🙏
Great lesson
🙏
Great video nick! Do you recommend doing both kick and slice in the same training session or separating them into their own sessions. I was curious if doing both in the same session would be too much wear on the body at the recommended volume of repetitions.
Good question, prob better to split them up in two separate sessions
Thank you very much for the valuable video. I have an slight issue with my kick serve which all of them land on the service line. Fortunately I have a very good 2nd serve in percentage but I can't land my kick serves inside the box. All of them land on the service line. What am I doing wrong? If they were landing on the side service line then I'm happy but mine are landing on the far service line by the no man's land box. Thank you.
Could be related to the toss

Vielen Dank für das super Video, selbst für mich als Coach sehr sehr wertvoll.!! Ich weiss du spricht sehr gut deutsch deshalb mein Kommentar auf deutsch..
Super gutes Video
Danke 🙏
Is that racket a PT57A? 16x19 could also just be a Head Radical
Nick, which racquet are you using?
Looks like a Wilson Shift
@@KrishnaKanchibhatta Judging by the shape it looks like a Wilson but now that you say it…
Pretty sure it is a painted pure drive
White racquet reveal coming soon…
@@IntuitiveTennis While you’re at it also throw in a string reveal. 😎 They produce an almost old-fashioned ping.
I'm struggling to serve using pronation...
When I try to use it, I throw the ball way over the service area.
Is there a video that shows "when" you need to start pronation? Or even some exercises to try to make it better?
If you focus on the proper racket drop and lead on edge, then contact the ball square on, you will naturally pronate. You can't time or orchestrate the pronation: it's a necessary act to go from edge to square and it happens so fast that you can't focus on its execution or timing. I'm regurgitating what Nik has been teaching us, so I leave it to him to confirm or correct my rendition.
I think what was missed on slice was that the face of racquet is angled a bit. Some might think it’s parallel to baseline when rotating the shoulders
Also id like to know your thoughts on how Patrick M always says swing path on slice is towards the T with angled racquet. Perhaps you are doing a slice variation?
