Hell yeah. We can only hope .380 gets cheaper to shoot, and more rounds become available because it still gets out priced by 9mm and it’s quite annoying.
That's my main reason I've stuck with 9mm. 9mm recoil is easy to handle with after a couple times of practice, so why would we pay more money for slightly less power?

Decades ago, Browning imported the Cheetah as the .380 BDL. Such a smooth little pistol that absolutely reeks of quality. Fit and finish are top notch and whether your hands are S - XL, it fits perfectly.
The Beretta 84f was my first ever carry gun, I inherited it from my dad, and the only holster I could find for it was a nylon universal IWB holster that fit the gun pretty snug. I'm fascinated to see the gun get a second breath of life pumped into it and look forward to seeing more of it.
This same pistol, essentially, used to be sold with wood grip panels as the Browning BDA380. It was a hella nice little pistol and accurate as the day is long. I carried one in a shoulder holster as a backup for several years. I once delivered a head shot to a rattlesnake at 25 yards - the first and only shot I fired at it. Fired a round at the head of nail at 10 yards that was sticking out of a heavy beam at a broken down mine site and punched it solidly - drove that nail into the beam so far that it could barely be seen. Don't know why I ever let that BDA380 go, but I've often wished I hadn't. Nice review!
Too bad that all of the zoomers, and younger millennials will bully manufacturers into not doing it anymore because they're not exactly like all the 350 dollar 9mm striker plastic they already own.
Your video on the original cheetah is what convinced me to get one. Don't think I'll be buying the new one but I'm happy it's back so that other people don't have to look as hard as I did to get one. Though if they'd make 32 acp barrels that'd be great and I'd probably pick one of those up
You could've mentioned the M1911 style safety and skipped the rest of the specs, yet I'd still be sold on the 80X. That slide mounted safety/decocker I CONSTANTLY have to train my big man hands not to bump.
I'm thrilled to see the Cheetah back! I too would've liked to have seen a smooth dust cover, no-rail model, and a rounded trigger guard would've been nice. Here's hoping an INOX model is in the pipeline too, and I look forward to seeing the ShotShow follow up on it!
I LOVE my DA/SA guns...wish more carry guns would come out with decockers and/or just be DA/SA...I know some people complain about the trigger pull, but it's not hard to overcome that with a little practice.

After you fire the weapon the first time and the slide ejects and loads another round the weapon is now in “single action mode,” now the trigger is back to about four pounds. For me this is about as safe as you can be while carrying a loaded weapon, Just my opinion. By the way I carry everyday and have for years. I prefer the look of a pristine, original 84, but I've never found one n that condition, so I'll gladly "settle" for the 80x. That's the only gun that would ever drive me back to a .380 caliber.
I acquired both the surplus 84BB and 85BB last year thanks to your videos. I prefer the 85 (single stack) because of my smaller hands. I'll definitely put this pistol at the top of my wishlist.
LOK Grips makes slim grips for Beretta, including the 84. If the standard size is close, that may be just the difference to make the double stack feel right for you.
I'm super pumped! I too love the 84. Fun Fact: that is the gun Trinity used in the Matrix because the 92 made her hands look small and killed the whole "super hero" vibe
On the hunt for an 84BB since that original video and they're a bit hard to come by at the time of my post, so I'm very excited to see the modernized 80X!
I would love to see one of these in .30SC. I’ve finally started seeing .30SC at my local academy for just a smidge more than 9mm. It seems like it would be the perfect caliber for something like this.
This is one of the most exciting new guns to me too I have been looking into a security 380 big ruger fan but this might take the cake for me right now.
I remember some gun guy telling us that its better to have a flashlight separate from the gun and made really good points. Might be why less than 1/3 people carry with a light.
Having a separate flashlight lets you see what's going on before deciding to point your loaded weapon at someone looking for there keys between parked cars or whatever. If it's dark, my flashlight will be out already but not necessarily my concealed carry.
I have two , one in 380 one in 32. Awesome. They need to come out with the 87 in 22lr for unlimited range practice. Talk to them next chance you get. I am looking for an 87 prices are astronomical due to low production. I am excited.
I have a Chetta in 32. One of my favorites for sure. My 92 is my go to war sidearm. I’m looking forward to this new 380 . Maybe my new carry gun . That is to be determined
I LOVE .32 ACP. It's such a great round to teach new shooters on...light recoil, but more than a .22lr, and the slide is harder to rack than a .22lr, so it gives them more of a feel, but it is so darn pleasant to shoot, it doesn't turn anyone off to shooting. It's also not overly loud, since it's generally subsonic.
I have an 85b. It’s beautifully made, flawless performance, fantastic design, and carried cocked and locked. I don’t have any use for a rail. Most of my pistols have them, and I wish none of them did. But, nonetheless, I will get a few of them for my daughters. They all love the 85, but I only have 1 of them and 3 daughters! This solves a major problem for me. Plus, this maybe even better for them. Thanks for the video.
Beretta is already listing the 80x on their website. $799 for the black and $999 for the bronze. I find it a little pricing for what boils down to a .380 still. I own a 84f and love it, was hoping to get one of these new ones but price may hold me back
It would be fantastic if Beretta would offer a tip-up barrel feature, like the old Model 86, to allow those with hand strength issues to load the first round. I also hope Beretta eventually offers a SA cocked & locked version like the old Model 84 (competition for the S&W CSX).
I got a brand new 84FS at Adventure Outdoors inSmyrna GA around 9 years ago. Theyare a ful line Beretta dealer and they said they had purchased a ton fo them from Beretta the last time they were available for US markets and still had a handful left at that time NIB. Beautiful perfect handgun. Love the 13+1 and the frame mounted safety. One thing I do wish though, is everyone does 380 ammo tests on 3 inch barrel micro guns. We need an ammo test video on 4 inch barrels! The longer barrel = highervelocity and rounds will perform differently at teh higher velocity. Maybe TFB will do an ammo test on the 80 series???
Wow that is fantastic news! I absolutely love the 80 series, and I cannot wait for this to be available. Thank you for bringing us this and other news, especially Beretta news!
I’m very excited for this to come to market. I have been looking for a cheetah so this is perfect! Love DA/SA guns! I have been moving away from strikers for more DA/SA guns for AIWB carry. Thanks for the early preview James and looking forward to more shot show reveals this week!
I have the 84BB with underwood ammo and I feel comfortable with my wife having it for her personal defense gun. She is recoil sensitive and shooting those light subcompact 9mms were not comfortable shooting, thus when she did shoot, she flinched. I am a little leary about paying those premium prices when I bought my 92x for $600-700 and with the LTT upgrades and Inox barrel, the 92X was a little over $1000-1200.
I carry the 84f and I believe it's the best gun to carry. Very reliable never had a malfunction even with steel cased ammo. Very underated and accurate. Can't wait to upgrade to the new one thanks for the updates.
I agree completely in the 'carry gun light' thing, James. I like my EDC light separate from my EDC gun (less weight & I can use the light by itself) and I like my EDC gun dustcover smooth (less sharp edges) for deep concealment
@@rangersmith4652 You're getting ready to go out, and you wanna show people how devoted you are to you the cause. Do you wear the Glock or Beretta shirt?
Showed this to a few friends who are old lovers of the 80-series. They like everything but the Picatinny rail, and hope to see a version without it in the near future.
James, You Beretta Loving Maniac, You! This looks interesting, don't know if people will want to carry a .380 that is the same size as a 9mm. But then again, I have a Beretta Model 81, so who am I to talk. Great video, good luck this week at Shot Show. Stay healthy. Ciao!
First. it is made from metal. Second, it does not suck. Third, decent amount of ammo. Years ago, I had a Cheta, but due to some reason, I thought I did not need it and sold it. Dumb. When this gun becomes available, I want to get one. My wife will probably want it and take it, so no real loss there if I had to buy two! Thanks James, for covering guns everyone and his brother sidestep. Stay frosty everyone.
As someone who loves his 92x and has been dreaming of a little brother, but not totally taken with the centurion, this seems perfect. I'm fine with carrying a 380, and God I love the thought of a small, glassy smooth action Beretta I can almost pocket carry. Take my money.
I had an older 84 and loved it… right up until .380 became popular again and ammo became expensive. Managed to use it as a trade in for a Sig… needless to say I’d carry one again as its a sleek gun.
The 84f can be carried cocked and locked or if you push the saftey all the way up it works as a decocker so you can carry saftey off and double action for the first pull. Or hammer down, saftey on if you wish.
I carry my model 81 with the hammer down and safety on around the house, hammer down and safety off everywhere else. I wish mine had the de-cocker. I think I'll get the 80X when it comes out.
Proper updates, looks great, better yet seems dependable and accurate, I do hope they offer it with or without the accessory rail, but like you said, not a deal breaker.. I'll take mine in black!
Super carry is probably way too hot for it. Too bad super carry is trying to compete with 9, would stand a much better chance if they shortened it some and tried replacing .380
Cool video. Agree on the light rail, looks better without. Disagree on best carry gun from that era. Carried back then, and my go to was the S&W 3913. A lot of my friends carried this Beretta or the Browning BDA and were very happy with them. Interesting that in todays market Beretta brought this back.

Great looking weapon...only concern is....following the 92 series....does it have the plastic trigger along with polymer op-rod
Exactly what my first question was!!!!!!!! I need to know!
And, will the sights be compatible with the earlier guns?
My 85BB sees a lot of action. Love it.
It would be fantastic if Beretta would offer a tip-up barrel feature, like the old Model 86, to allow those with hand strength issues to load the first round. I also hope Beretta eventually offers a SA cocked & locked version like the old Model 84 (competition for the S&W CSX).
I wish the Px4 platform would get some love.
Love it, just wish it had the tip up barrel.
Yes! Like the old Model 86.
@@jeffreybrooks8643 maybe if this sells good, they will make a tip up version.
Gratzi! Can't wait for these to hit the market.
Do u know if they r gonna make it in 22lr?
That would be great. Cheap trainer with mossad legacy.
TFB TV's Beretta 84BB review is my all-time favorite RUclips gun review, and it's what got me watching the channel regularly.
Love TFBTV, really want a cheetah only because of Heat 😂
I’m very excited for this to come to market. I have been looking for a cheetah so this is perfect! Love DA/SA guns! I have been moving away from strikers for more DA/SA guns for AIWB carry. Thanks for the early preview James and looking forward to more shot show reveals this week!
Don’t get your gun confiscated this time at the hotel!
Would love to get one of these in .32 ACP with a 16 round mag.
Can’t go wrong with Beretta! The new APX 1 is great and now this, what else? Love Shot Show reveals!!
Its boring though. It looks just like a PDP. The original APX looks more Beretta.
@@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz who gives a shit? It's a great gun.
Still love my 92x compact. No need to drop to a weaker caliber. Great review
I carry the 84f and I believe it's the best gun to carry. Very reliable never had a malfunction even with steel cased ammo. Very underated and accurate. Can't wait to upgrade to the new one thanks for the updates.
Would LOVE to see an 80X with an 86 style tip up barrel. Probably too much to hope for.
I agree completely in the 'carry gun light' thing, James. I like my EDC light separate from my EDC gun (less weight & I can use the light by itself) and I like my EDC gun dustcover smooth (less sharp edges) for deep concealment
James can't decide if he's a Glock or Beretta fan.
A person can be both.
@@rangersmith4652 You're getting ready to go out, and you wanna show people how devoted you are to you the cause.
Do you wear the Glock or Beretta shirt?
@@WaterZer0 I don't wear firearm company logos at all.
Love my Beretta model 81. LOK makes a great set of grips for them.
its cool but i feel like its 15 years too late
Beretta just now entering the 21st century. In 20 years, they'll release a micro 9.
God yes! I was just telling someone that Beretta needs to bring back the Cheetah! Bigger-sized .380s are the best shooting guns in my opinion
I'm gonna be one of those guys, I wish they made this in 9mm. It's just so much more affordable than .380.
100%, it's the size of a 9mm anyways...
Not enough mass in the 80-series slide for a blowback 9mm.
@@Tom-cp6yj .380 is the same diameter as 9mm but it's shorter, hence the nickname "9mm short" given to .380 ammo.
Nice! I have 81 in 32acp 85 380, and CZ83 380. Let's see if CZ willreissue 83? Also 30 carry. Lots of great stuff coming out.
Stoked for this! I've always loved the Cheetahs. Can't wait to scoop one up.
my father owned one, it was the first handgun I shot and I always loved how compact it was.
Ciao!
Your beretta cheetah video is one of my favorites from the channel, and I cannot wait for this gun and your coverage of shot show.
This gun looks total quality and is beautiful with some nice features. Can’t wait till they start shipping to the US. Will buy one very soon
First. it is made from metal.
This is a very exciting announcement and I'm anxious to get all of the future details and release dates. Thank you James!!!
I have a original 84BB. I’ve owned it since 1992. It is a great firearm and it’s very accurate.
I went to the range with my 84bb yesterday.
Such a great little pistol.
I’m more interested in the 92XI myself, but I love they’re bringing this back. If .380 was cheaper I’d consider it
Yep, I need this. I don't even like 9x17, but I will make an exception for this!
I have an 81BB (the .32 counterpart to the 84) and it's one of the best guns I own.
As someone who loves his 92x and has been dreaming of a little brother, but not totally taken with the centurion, this seems perfect. I'm fine with carrying a 380, and God I love the thought of a small, glassy smooth action Beretta I can almost pocket carry.
Take my money.
Beretta is doing a great thing here by modernizing successful designs: 92, 80, these are great designs that only get better with modern touches.
I had an older 84 and loved it… right up until .380 became popular again and ammo became expensive. Managed to use it as a trade in for a Sig… needless to say I’d carry one again as its a sleek gun.
Great video and Beretta makes a great semiautomatic pistol and have a bunch of great models for conceal and carry
I like Beretta a lot, so I'm glad to see a channel take their products seriously.
I’ve wanted a cheetah for a long time. After seeing this, I’ve got the “gots-to-have-its”!!!!! Thanks for the vid!!!!
Proper updates, looks great, better yet seems dependable and accurate, I do hope they offer it with or without the accessory rail, but like you said, not a deal breaker..
I'll take mine in black!
The 80x seems like a perfect candidate for 30 Super Carry
Super carry is probably way too hot for it. Too bad super carry is trying to compete with 9, would stand a much better chance if they shortened it some and tried replacing .380
I never really considered .380 before your original video, and now I'm downright intrigued.
I have an 84bb that I absolutely love. I'm excited to get this new model.
I loved the cheetah from the 80s and 90s. I wish I had my late grandfather’s in my possession. I’m not passing this one up when I run across it
I love the 92 series. This is just the little baby brother I need to add to my collection.
Cool video. Agree on the light rail, looks better without. Disagree on best carry gun from that era. Carried back then, and my go to was the S&W 3913. A lot of my friends carried this Beretta or the Browning BDA and were very happy with them. Interesting that in todays market Beretta brought this back.
