I cannot agree more. The PX4 is a phenominal piece of machinery. It is everything I want in a defensive pistol. It is soft shooting, reliable, accurate, almost indestructable, easy to carry, and that all applies to the full size as well as the compact. Ernest's 50,000 round test of that one gun, by one person, in one year sold me on it and my experience with it has been excellent.
When I first went into LE in 2008, we carried a PX4 in .40 cal. I fell in love with it then and made me a Beretta guy for life. I now carry the PX4 Compact Carry and in my opinion, it's the most underrated pistol EVER, not just for 2023.
@@nonopopo1985 lol I remember almost falling into the .40 hype. Almost got a S&W 4006 for $400 (kicking myself for not getting it). Fresno PD (home city) switched to the G45 from the .40 Storm in 2020. Miracle they held onto it for that long.
My father had the PX4 full sized in 9mm. When he passed, I got it and shot it frequently as part of some sort of therapy. I got used to it and shot well with it quickly. About 7 months later I picked up the Compact Carry for my carry gun and I have absolutely no regrets.
I bought a PX4 last year and never once regretted it. It's one if the softest shooting 9mm pistols I've ever fired. It's super comfortable. It's also just good looking in my opinion. Classic Italian styling with the modern touch. Fires like a laser beam and I'll proudly shoot my PX4 until the day I die. When I was in the Army and we shot M9's, if someone had offered to trade in my M9 for the PX4 I would have done it in a heartbeat.
What size? Softer than full size USP 9mm? For me that was softest. I rented a few and that was my fav. Didn’t had fun with the stock m9, so dismissed beretta. Wish locals had px4.
One could argue the Cougar was an attempt at evolving the 92s design that didn't stick and the PX4 Storm a second attempt to bring the cougar into the 21st century, where lightweight polymer guns dominated the market. But the people in markets, despite what many economists want to tell you, aren't rational actors. They are guided by a complex webs of factors that are rarely predicatble. In this case, the Beretta 92 and M9 were US army service weapons, which is always a huge boost, had become icons in pop culture and had earned a reputation to be proven, reliable, sturdy and accurate. Hard to go up against that. On the other hand, when Glock came into the market, nobody took them serious, until that unassuming looking, spartanic plastic block had outrun the market competitors.
I used to sell new PX4's back in 2011-2014 when I worked at an indoor range on sale for around $400 and hardly anyone would buy them because it wasn't a Glock. A frequent regular customer who was a detective would come in once a week to shoot a used PX4 in 40 cal that I sold to him and he couldn't believe how soft it shot. This guy had every high end gun and swore by his used $300 PX4 Storm. Definitely an underrated gun and I have loved mine since 2012. Great video.
I skipped a lot of "good guns" because of factors like lack of oem or aftermarket parts/support and accessories (holsters, compatible optics, lights, mags etc). A detective that can carry OWB or on a vest/shoulder has less issues carrying than someone like me, that has to keep it concealed. For me the IWI Masada was the best ergonomics and a great quality/price piece, but I skipped it due to all the reasons above. Couldn't even get oem spares for it.
This is a great video. I appreciate you brining something to us other than another Glock. Interviewing true experts with solid opinions based on their own personal testing. Fantastic. Thank you. I've been contemplating DA/SA as primary carry for a long time.
Having lived in California where there are only about six pistols that can be bought - legally - the PX4 was one. It was a good handgun out of the box. But a couple years later I sent it to Ernest to do his magic. When it returned, with new springs, new trigger, better mag release, better sights and more ergo everything, it was fantastic. Every friend who tried it agreed. I have been shooting the PX4 for more than 10 years. Don't know how many rounds, certainly a few thousand, and have never had a stoppage or malfunction. It is solid, reliable and fun to shoot.
It’s unfortunate (not to mention unconstitutional) that the PX4 Compact isn’t on the handgun “roster” in CA. I have the full size, but would buy the Compact and Langdonize it immediately.
@@KonaLife I myself would have gotten one if I could get the compact as well. The closest thing to this gun was the USP Compact, which around a year ago got knocked off the roster.
I stumbled on my PX4 Storm when I was looking to buy my first pistol at Cabela's here in Canada. I didn't entirely know what I was getting in to but boy did I luck out! I have since changed mine to the "G" model exactly as Mr. Langdon described. With no gun smithing experience, I did that myself (with some help from RUclips). Now that I've been shooting for six years, ha e a collection of pistols and I'm proficient with them, I am still so in love with it. It's my most accurate pistol. The only thing it needs is a red dot mount. And maybe some money to send it to Mr. Langdon to take care of that for me. Thanks for the validation, James!!!!
After I sold my PX4 storm full size I missed it so much. Couple years later I saw the LTT Compact Carry PX4 storm coming out and ordered one and is never leaving my stock. One of the best!
First pistol I ever bought, at the age of 55, was the PX4 full size. I have 2 of them with several thousand rounds through them. Completely reliable, easy to shoot and good looking. I do have the SC too but it's kind of a different beast! ;-) My next will be a compact model, maybe I can afford an LTT version!
Old Beretta guy here… Wilson 92, 92x compact old 84, 85, 70. I like Beretta and carry one every day, as does my bride of 40 years. A friend had 1000 rounds of .40 and just gave it to me to be rid of it. Hell I went out and bought a PX4 compact in .40 for fun. Absolutely astounded me how shootable it was out of the box. My wife had never shot it. I handed it to her and set up a 5 circle target in our field. She drilled all 5, handed it back and said…” that shoots really nice.” It is truly truly underrated. It would be my go to any day.
I have immense respect for Langdon. Back in 2016 I was looking to replace my striker fired pistol and started reading Langdon’s posts and watching his videos about DA/SA pistols for concealed carry. His logic was iron clad. I had just moved to a state where I had to shoot a qualification for my handgun permit so I qualified with a Px4 range gun. I literally put every bullet in the X on a B-52 at 15 yards. I was sold. I bought a Px4 and carried it for 3 years. All the things Langdon says in the video are true…except for the reliability. I had to send the pistol back to Beretta twice and then it started having unexplained malfunctions. I tried everything to remedy the problem but just gave up on it. I wish I’d had a better experience with the gun because it really is a shooter.
Okay this might be one of my favorite videos. The way Ernest is delivering the information that translates to other firearms/shooting is amazing. I’m always looking for new ways to discuss/describe things for work.
Just bought a PX4 a few months ago. First time I shot it I was amazed at how accurate it was and how great it felt to shoot. Sure, at first cleaning it was a hassle trying to fit the spring in during reassembly. But after some practice, the process was as smooth as butter.
The PX4 never really mattered to me until Ernest started posting videos about them. I’m a big 92 fan, but when it comes to polymer guns, I’ve been into the CZ P07 & P09 for years and really like them. However, videos like this keep making my interest in the PX4 increase.
I got wise to the px4 by playing Splinter cell blacklist , it had such an interesting silhouette similar to a fused beretta cougar and Ruger 94. The only legit complaint on these guns is the lack of texture on the sides. Stimple/talon grip does wonders . The full size and the compact are fantastic stock guns. The LTT upgrades make it arguably the greatest hammer fired duty gun ever made
The LTT PX4 Storm Compact Carry is the greatest pistol I have ever shot. Having firsthand experience, I can vouch for pretty much every single thing mentioned in this video. It's a truly phenomenal firearm, and it's sad it isn't getting more love in the US. The two biggest things for me was the remarkably soft recoil, and the dead-on-balls accuracy. It practically turns an "OK" shooter into a great shooter.
1. Is the price. Last I checked they wanted like 1200$ I think for it. 2. Is the fact you can't buy it in person anywhere. You have to know someone that has one to even handle it and then if you want one you have to either buy it online or send your in. A lot of people don't want to mess with online firearm buying or sending it in. If they worked with Beretta and produced a factory pistol with the same specs and dropped the price to 700$. I think it would become a lot more popular. But nowadays there's not many people that want to carry a pistol that big anymore.
My first gun was a PX4, purchased at a gun show because the guy talked me into it over a 92fs (because he could never sell it) and 16 years later I have zero regrets, they are amazing guns.
I 100% agree. My loaded LTT PX4 CC is the best 9mm in my collection and I never leave home without it. Even a base model from Beretta will get the job done and they’re affordable. If you don’t have one, get one.
I bought my PX4 over a decade ago. And even before I got the Langdon tactical trigger work literally EVERYONE who's fired it loves it immediately. I added a silicone grip because I have huge hands and it literally melts into your palm like its an extension of you. 3 of my buddies now have Px4s and its hands down one of the best shooting pistols Ive ever held, let alone owned. I cant wait for Beretta to make a low bore version like the Laugo Alien someday. An "Alien Storm" would be a mythical creature indeed.
The px4 storm was definitely ahead of its time and just keeps improving with companies like Langdon. I can say that this gun is in my list and specifically one customized by Langdon. Great video TFB and as always James is a fantastic interviewer.
Fantastic (and unexpected) video. I bought my first PX4 in April 2021. I now have 6. 3-9mm's, 2-40's, and a 45. True love. Well done and a huge thanks for those of us that already knew the awesomeness of this gun.
I got a used px4 for a steal when I wanted to get a .40 cal to expand my ammunition coverage (preparing for the next shortage, remember 2020?). The rotating barrel takes a lot of the pop out of 40 and it is super durable and accurate gun. Also no problems with it ever. Great choice.
I had the full size .40 and the recoil was about the same as my Sig 2022 9mm. Wish I didn’t have to sell it, but it was hard times and I had to pay the bills. I’ll get another one soon. If I can find a used one in good condition for a good price I’ll jump on it. I’d like to have the full size again and a compact.
Grand power p11 is I would not say subcompact put close as I have found with rotating barrel. I believe they have decoker variant. One I have has ambi thumb safety . Shoots good machining is top notch.
James, thank you so much for this video. I've owned the PX4-9 for quite a few years (as well as the sibling CX4-9 carbine!) so I agree on your "underrated" classification. I find it hard to get back(!) when someone on the range wants to try it out, too. As a Beretta fan boy, I also appreciated your tour of the factory a few months back. Good to see/hear you and Ernest give this series it's well-deserved kudos. I own the 92D, M9-22, Tomcat-32 also. Thanks!
I bought my PX4 full sized while i lived in California. Handled a bunch of pistols at my local shop and it was the one that felt best in my hand. I've never regretted it. Since i left that state I've bought a number of other pistols, but i still love the Storm. Great gun.
I think if they were able to release a version in 10mm it would get a lot of new attention in the US. New 10mm releases seem to be getting a lot of coverage recently. Right now, the only DA/SA handguns that I'm aware of are from Tanfoglio/EAA and SIG starting at around $1000 to $1400 respectively. If Beretta could offer that platform for under $1000, I think they would dominate that sector, and I would have to start saving up.
@@arconreef I think it could. Look up the Grand Power P40L 10mm, uses a very similar rotating barrel design. I found a post where a guy was going to give converting his .40 PX4 to 10mm a try but not sure how far he got. Unrelated, but I remember Eric and Barry converted a .40 Hi Point to 10mm over a decade ago and it ran like a champ.
The Px4 Storm is a phenomenal pistol. Bruce Willis used one in Live Free or Die Hard, Jill Valentine had one in Resident Evil 5, Leonardo diCaprio used one in Inception, and Aiden Pearce used one in Watch Dogs. It's a real mystery why the Px4 never caught on in the US.
@@PatriotPaulUSA Sincerely no offense Paul, but obviously. I think the point is that media exposure, via film, or direct advertising, and everything in between, is what captures consumer attention. Which is why it’s interesting that the PX4 hasn’t caught on. For instance, I’m guessing my initial interest in handguns came from Diehard. I know that’s fake, but I still wanted John McClane’s gun.
@@weirdshibainuPeople who shoot it for the first time love the way it shoots. But aesthetics matter too, and most folks think it’s just ugly. Subjectively, I think it looks great, save for that grip, which looks as bad as it feels.
As a gun guru and instructor, if Ernest says it, I believe it. As a retired LEO who drank the stiker fired cool-aid, I love what he has to say about the reliability of the DA system. (My EDC is a CZ PCR so.....) Thank you TFB for the video and the hit to my pocketbook.
These type of videos are the ones I’m always looking forward to. Good job James! Personally I own the fully specked LTT PX4 Carry and the Ernest Langdon PX4 Black Compact and man! I love what these guys do on these guns. If you ever own a Beretta go with the LTT mods. Their voodoo will haunt you.
I love our PX4s -- 2 9mm and 1 .40 -- easily my overall favorite handgun of all time. The Conceal Carry PX4 model is my go-to unless I really need to go small. The PX4 is such a joy to shoot.
how would you compare it to the full as a carry? To my understanding a 10 round full will weigh less than a 15 round compact and the barrel is only 3/4" longer. the weight difference is about 3 rounds of 9mm i wanted the Compact but those wont be stocked until next year.
@@Oblivionsurveyor, The PX4s are just kinda chunky. My PX4cc (Compact Carry) is smaller than my Hellcat RDP (my alternate EDC) in almost every way except width, but the PX4cc feels bigger and prints more readily. I say that to lead into that the fullsize PX4 will feel even bigger. The biggest issue with carrying the full size though is the decocker/safety wings. On the PX4cc they are trim and "stealthy" decocker only, designed for carry. On the full size they are pointy and not comfortable against your skin at all, and they are a combination decocker/safety. You absolutely can carry a full size, some people do, but most people swear -- myself included -- that the PX4cc has a better trigger and is generally more accurate than the full size. Having both, I'd personally not want to carry the full size IWB, but OWB it would be fine so long as you are either ok to open carry or have sufficient clothing to cover it. Just my humble opinion, I haven't met a PX4 I didn't like, but having access to a range of them I'd stand by that the Compact Carry (not the regular compact) is the only one I'd recommend for conceal carry, then the compact would be #2, and the full size would be #3. To save on weight I'd recommend Liberty Ultra Lights as ammo -- they are super fast +p 9mm (2000+ fps) and only 50gr per round, which adds up to a noticeably lighter magazine when loaded up with a full 15rd. Just my thoughts based solely on my own experience. I love the PX4cc, easily the best handgun I've ever used.
It’s a hidden gem. I had to replace the guide rod to the metal one after like 800rds. It was user error, shooting NATO rounds which caused the guide rod break. I replaced it and it’s actually recommended to switch the guide rod if you are shooting higher pressure rounds like the NATO 9mm.
About time this gun got some more recognition. I tried to sell these when I worked in a store and couldn’t. Uncle Nutnfancy is the only cat I remember give it it’s due
Fact. I’ve got several, including full size and two compact carry. All have Langdon parts or are direct from Langdon. Easily my favorite DA/SA gun. And it’s not particularly close. They carry well and shoot well. Only complaint is the lack of holsters for RDO models. I’d also note that they like to be run wet; they’re not Glocks and require a fair amount of lube on certain parts. Most criminally underrated guns out there.
You can get something from PHLster if you run a light on the rail, which I do. The top of the holster comes to the back of the ejection port, so even if you run your red dot a bit forward it will still fit.
I loved everything about this pistol that I could find on paper 10 years ago. To me, the trigger (DA/SA) needed refinement. For my first pistol purchase, it just felt like a layup. The market - The aftermarket support of others. Holsters, dots, lights, sights, mags, ect. I had to go with the known and supported rather than the info and design that made more sense. Today, she's the one that got away. I should call her.
I enjoy mine in the subcompact form 9mm. After carrying the m9 for 20yrs in service. I found the conversion to the controls was really easy ( really the same )and I enjoy the functionality
I have a tuned up PX4 and it’s very underrated in that capacity. The CZ Shadow rightly gets a lot of praise there, but the DA on my souped up storm is crazy smooth. The SA on a modified shadow is maybe slightly better
The Px4 is an awsome DA/SA pistol, and seeing Ernest run it to its full potential is really cool. I think the popularity it has now in the US is all due to LTT.
I used to have a SC in 9mm and found it more accurate than most any other full or medium sized striker fired handguns I have fired. Still have a Stoeger Cougar which is basically a close model from old Beretta Cougar design. Now this makes me want another Compact
I've never pictured carrying it, but I've wanted an LTT full-size for a while now. I ended up with a CZ SP-01 because I got a screaming deal but the PX4 is still on my list.
This video was a nice surprise! I’ve been carrying the compact 9mm as a daily carry since 2014. I absolutely love this gun. Easy to shoot, easy to break down and clean and very easy to carry due to size. I’ve put a few thousand rounds through it and have never had any mechanical issues. Agree 100% on hammer vs striker fired. This the flattest shooting pistol of the 5 I own. Only thing it needs is a red dot…
I love my PX4! Fantastic gun. Never had a single issue through many thousands of rounds. The PX4 Compact is one of my favorite-looking modern handguns. Definitely switch the dog-ear safety/decockers for the low-profile decocker-only levers, though.
I picked up a PX4 storm, never fired a round thru it and Passed my shooting test for my carry license. Then a few months later traded it for motorcycle. LOL I bought another 4 months ago used and love it!
I have three problems with the PX4 storm compact as an iwb option. The width, the width, and the width. It is a beautiful weapon in every other category. I wish the firearms industry would embrace the idea of creating a SA/DA pistol with the dimensions of something like the Springfield Hellcat Pro. If it’s possible from an engineering standpoint.
With the stealth levers installed, it comes down to 1.2 which is comparable to a Glock 19. I left the ambi slide stop on and I still carry it aiwb daily.
First handgun purchase, back in 2005 or so.. Paid $550 for a full sized .40, in 2006 dollars, as a catch and release piece from a fed. Fast forward to 2021. Found a 45 for $450, and nabbed it, as I had tried out lots of other platforms since that day, and despite experiences with 1911s, Sig hammer-fired, Springfields, Glocks, and HKs, I ended up circling back to that very first selection I made, as a brand new shooter. Got the full spread of the caliber family by now, and would be confident to carry any one of them into a contested situation. I love to see the PX4 getting it's due attention, and really appreciate the work that James and co have done to raise awareness to this little gem. Conversely, I'm cussing them under my breath, for the way those efforts have driven the price of this platform up, up, and up.
I picked one up as a LEO trade in (.40s&w) and the only "problem" with it is the grip being too smooth. It's truly a fantastic gun and can be had for under $400 used even in this economy
love it. first handgun I bought for myself and I love how smooth it is in .40. Half of my problem was that I was falling back on training based off of a glock rather than the Px4 in my hand so I was anticipating recoil that was never coming. Shot smooth and ridiculously accurate considering it's been years since I went to a range.
I have the px4 LTT compact and it's just phenomenal. The reset is sick on this thing and I can shoot it very good. It's definitely my most carried pistol
Crazy man. I went back and watched both of your Beretta Interviews a few days back when both CEO/COO came to the same conclusion on the PX4 and then this excellent video with Mr. Langdon pops into my feed. I love the full size and the LTT compact carry. Actually made me more of a Beretta Fan and of DA/SA. Great stuff James. Looking forward to shooting at the Neutral Ground in the near future.
I love hearing "It's so fat! I can't coneal that!" from people who will essentially go on to EDC a gun AIWB with a aftermarket magwell and +2 basepads, and an X-300.
I am just so confused how everyone went nuts for a Glock 43X that is 1.1” thick. The Sig P239 is 1.18” thick, is the same exact size and has been around since the 90’s.
The PX4 is so good I would carry it stock. The ease with which the trigger can be pulled while keeping the sights aligned is wild to me because the stock double action is heavy (I am used to the Langdon Beretta 92 trigger pull). I was getting groups with PX4 iron sights slightly smaller than groups with FN509 with a dot. Without the dot the iron sights are blurry and the target is blurry, but I just put the small blur into the large blur and voila nice tight groups, up to 7 yards. 10 yards not so much, but that is the potential for the gun.
Carried this pistol, the Ernest Langdon compact carry for almost 10 years. 2 weeks ago I sold it to my friend because it was time for me to get something new. Sold it to her because I trust it to work if she needs it to!
I have been a fan of the PX4 for a couple years now. To the point where I now consider it the standard by which all other pistols are measured. The PX4 Compact is truly the Goldilocks Gun for me...I have not found any other pistol that offers so much and ticks nearly all of the boxes. The polymer grip is perhaps the only "unchecked box". I own 2 compacts now and am considering trading some of my other guns in the safe for another PX4. Oh, and Ernest Langdon rocks!
I watched one LTT video and was hooked about a year ago. I purchased an LTT PX4 compact carry with all of the options and coatings except the optic cut. Now, I want each of my family members to have one as well. Great video…simply reinforces my reasoning for purchasing my first PX4!
I agree the PX4 Storm is the most under rated gun. I have 2 Full size PX4'S. 1 was LTT'D and the other is stock. I would love to get the PX4 Compact but can't because I live in the Communist State of California. KEEP ON ROCKING Langdon Tactical
As a 92 fan I put off buying my PX4C far too long. It's a great shooter. I do wish the pistol had been designed around the 9mm cartridge. Being a little thinner would ease concealability a bit.
My first even pistol, and ccw was a PX4 Storm Subcompact. At the time back in like 2012 or 13, it really met everything I wanted. The safety/decocker, 13+1, small but soft shooting. It really was the perfect carry back then for a new shooter. I put thousands of rounds through my PX4, and I cannot for the life of me remember a single malfunction. I had it for about 10+ years, but it retired to my safe as the micro compact market exploded. I moved on to a P365 and really never looked back. I recently sold it because I hadn't fired it in a long time and didn't see a reason for it to keep taking up room in my safe. The only thing that PX4 needed was talon grips, because the texture was not enough on it's own and it would get slippery. I miss it sometimes, but I bet if I bought another it would just sit in the safe.
I was an early adapter of the PX4, my first being the full size followed by the subcompact version. But my favorite is hands down the Compact. After watching this video I hope it sparks some interest in this really good Beretta.
People like to downvote the subbie because it's a tilt barrel, but it's a great sub and I hate subs. Beretta couldn't fit the rotating action in there so they just quietly made the most shootable 3 inch tilt action on the market, especially if you don't have small hands
I got the Compact Carry as an early 40th birthday present for myself. After I had just got the APX A1 Full Size as an early Christmas present for myself. I put the Talons on it. Then ordered the 92FS decocker for it. Got that installed. It is GOOD TO GO and I can't wait to carry it regularly.
Looking forward to see what he's doing with that trigger job for the PX4. I wouldn't get abother 92 trigger job without a match hammer. Interviews like this are what set TFB TV apart.
Back in the 2000s, I had the intention of buying a PX4 and a CX4. I already owned the Beretta Cougar, so I was already familiar with the rotating cam locking barrel. I think my hesitation came because of the thumb safety. I was still carrying a 1911 the most at that time, and I just couldn't get used to Beretta's style of actuating the thumb safety.
After my 4yrs in the Corps and carrying a 92f, my 1st gun purchase was a px4 subcompact. Super accurate and reliable. 20yrs later and 30ish pistols later it's still my most accurate go to.
Before the PX4 beretta had the 8000 series or cougar that they later had Stoeger make them. it was an alloy frame and same rotating barrel design. it was one of the softest shooting guns i have ever fired that was not insanely heavy. I dont know why that never got more attention. the PX4 is amazing. I have never had an issue with the Berettas i have owned.
100% The compact model has been my carry gun for years. It is fantastic in every way. Crazy accurate, soft shooting, dead reliable, and a really good instinctive point shooter.
I understand- Underrated- but LTT has made three for me, a full size w/irons, a compact w/irons and a compact with a dot. Hands down, the best pistols for carry (compact) and bedside (full-size w/light) guns out there. Used that irons compact in a LTT class in 2019- ran as good as and “big” gun in class. You want a DA pistol, ask LTT to build for you, get a full house gun, NP3, short reset trigger bar, shoot the works on one and don’t look back- amazing stuff. Thanks for the interviews James, really well done.
I bought my px4 .45acp in 2009. It was the 2nd gun I ever bought. Everyone else was buying striker fires. I personally think it has a modern sexy look and comes with some great features. It's a durable and reliable gun after 14 years of ownership.
The second handgun I purchased when I was 21 years old was a Beretta m/8000 cougar. Back in 2005 it was just after the AWB sunset and I was so excited to have 15rd mags. Excellent lil pistol. Wish I’d have kept it. Now I’ve been enjoying the Grandpower P40 with the same rotating lock up action. I highly recommend it
Been my only pistol since 2008. I get strange looks when I go to the range because it’s not a striker fire pistol and it’s unconventional looking with the angles on the slide. I love it.
I picked up a PX4 for 400$ used. I took it to a gun shoot with a bunch of buddy's and even with them shooting 10k worth of firearms 911s , Glocks, SIGS, EVERYTHING no one could believe how great EVERYONE could shoot with this pistol. 9/10 shots at 30 yards were spot on. The amount of recoil keeps it on target so easy to shoot it surprises people with a smile.

Sorry about your father.
@@GTFBITK Much appreciated.
What one do u like best ?
@@totljag1 I like shooting the compact carry more.
Condolences to your father.
These were 400 new about until half a year into the pandemic.
@@jnewguyin not at the store I worked at lol! Still an underrated gun. Wasn't Glock trying to go to a rotating barrel with their next gen?
My favorite thing about Glock fanboys is that they increase demand for dumb shit instead of quality firearms. Thank God for Glock fanboys.
@@Cpt_JohnRackham You're welcome.
Sounds like you turned it into a Kimber. just kidding …always loved this under rated design. Semper Fi🇺🇸
If it needed all that, it sure as hell wasn't much good to begin with.
The manufacturer should have made it right when they built it.
@@richardswann5300 Ernest smoothed out the trigger and improved the take-up and reset. The reliability was built in by Beretta.
She drilled all 5, handed it back and said…” that shoots really nice.”
It is truly truly underrated. It would be my go to any day.
They're not wrong. Woefully underrated. Fantastic performance and has space gun vibes.
Its ugly as sin but I have an affinityfor ugly guns. I love berettas and its the 1 I am missing.
Go try one out. You won't regret it.
You definitely need to at least shoot one. I’m pretty sure you’ll like it and will buy one.
I really liked shooting the PX4 but it still didn’t beat my P-07 in my eyes
@@zacharyhoman3597 I understand. The P-07 is a great gun! But personally I like the PX4 a little better. But I could go with either one.
P-07 is my jam
Many are burned out on buying Just because of a label. I've had some Named Excellence that was Junk with a high price.
What do you think about the grip shape tho? I have medium sized hands & it just feels so odd to me.
But nowadays there's not many people that want to carry a pistol that big anymore.
i got my Storm Compact Carry a couple of years ago, used. $699.99. Best handgun I own. Ernest Langdon is a wizard.
@@brandens7615 The PX4 Compact Carry is a factory Beretta pistol and costs about 800.
My first gun was a PX4, purchased at a gun show because the guy talked me into it over a 92fs (because he could never sell it) and 16 years later I have zero regrets, they are amazing guns.
I've always thought PX4 is really cool, thanks for covering it. Your videos are great!
Soon as I saw the title I said this has to be the Px4 storm. Love the gun!
PX4 looks like a great design to me. Love hammer fired double action semi-auto pistol models. Beretta PX4 is really under appreciated.
I’m so glad you took the time to produce this. THANK YOU.
PX4 compacts can be converted to 9mm with a simple barrel/mag swap, fyi. Unsure about the fullsize.
@@eaglesbladescan 9mm compacts be converted to 40 also? Or only 40 to 9?
@@eddiepetersen9807 mine was a 40 - probably? Barrel and extractor are the only different parts
Yep. I fell in love with a Storm Compact .45 in 2010. That just doesn't have the *snap* the Storm tempers in .40, but it is a heck of a shooter!
I was agnostic to the PX4 Storm until I shot it. OMG!! What a great shooting gun and is now one of my most carried. Great gun.
I've always liked the Beretta Storm pistol line. I just wish the subcompact had the rotating barrel lockup like the compact and full size.
The rotating barrel design would not stand up to the recoil of 10mm.
@@arconreefIt handles .40 S&W just fine. 10mm should be fine.
@@Cpt_JohnRackham .40 s&w has half the muzzle energy of hot 10mm.

Jill Valentine using it in RE5 was pretty much the reason I ended up buying one, zero regrets!
As great as the gun might be, movies are not real life you know? It is very well paid people, "play acting". 😊
I think it just appears too chunky. I like the PX4 and see them at my dealers all the time for great prices.
@@weirdshibainuPeople who shoot it for the first time love the way it shoots. But aesthetics matter too, and most folks think it’s just ugly. Subjectively, I think it looks great, save for that grip, which looks as bad as it feels.
I wish Beretta would release the PX4 in 10mm. That recoil reduction would be awesome on a really chunky round like 10mm.
My family loves the PX4s. We have a couple and bought a matching CX4 that shares the magazines! Thanks for sharing this!
To my understanding
a 10 round full will weigh less than a 15 round compact and the barrel is only 3/4" longer. the weight difference is about 3 rounds of 9mm i wanted the Compact but those wont be stocked until next year.
That's not user error at all, especially if a replacement is recommended. They should ship them wit a metal guide rod.
@@gunut4FMJ it’s user error on my part. I agree that they should have just came with the metal guide rod from the factory.
Thanks for the tip!
You can get something from PHLster if you run a light on the rail, which I do. The top of the holster comes to the back of the ejection port, so even if you run your red dot a bit forward it will still fit.
Had a PX4 about 10-12 years ago. Sold it and haven’t thought about it since, until now. Still don’t miss it!
I own one and it’s an outstanding pistol. I carry it everyday
Love Da/Sa pistols. Hopefully when the new CZ drops this month it is a Micro 1.5 stack Da/Sa carry pistol!!!!
I love CZ pistols. Can you tell me what website can I read about that? I've been wanting CZ to make a micro DA/SA for years that would be awesome.
James on TFBTV said they are dropping a new pistol this June. The Da/Sa is purely my wish.
Is there any leaked photos or articles out there, I still like my rami?
I have not seen any leaked photos.
Because of both of you, I bought the 9mm PX4 and installed a Langdon trigger group, love the DA/SA my Glock 19 is now my safe gun. Thanks
I have never had an issue shooting double action. It’s all training 🙌🏼
The Px4 is an awsome DA/SA pistol, and seeing Ernest run it to its full potential is really cool. I think the popularity it has now in the US is all due to LTT.

I've never pictured carrying it, but I've wanted an LTT full-size for a while now. I ended up with a CZ SP-01 because I got a screaming deal but the PX4 is still on my list.
P01 on sale is always the play. Always

Hell yes
Durability and reliability vs slim dimensions... get a better holster.
With the stealth levers installed, it comes down to 1.2 which is comparable to a Glock 19. I left the ambi slide stop on and I still carry it aiwb daily.
That would be fuckin sick brah
The XD-e exists. The PX4 Compact is still better. Believe me, I have owned both. Have you looked at the PX4 subcompact model?
My 73rd Birthday is in 3 weeks. An LTT PX4 would be very nice!
PX4 full size was my first firearm. It has LTT trigger parts, shoots like a dream and has never had a malfunction.
I do think you single handily saved the PX4. Every measurement says 1.4 to 1.5” wide. You measured 1.2”. HUGE DIFFERENCE THERE
The fact that it's a chonky boy is what turned me off from it. It would just print way too much on my frame.

I do like the px4. I would say another underrated gun is the hk p2000. I love that gun
I've carried the Px4 Compact stock for 3 years. Just sent mine off to Langdon to get the magic touch.
@@Cpt_JohnRackham You are going to love it.
I’ve purchased a few 92’s & PX4’s from LTT over the years. Great guns and Ernest is such a class act dude.

92 rocks
Love my PX4 Storm compact. I bought it a few years ago after I got my CX4 Storm, which I also really enjoy.
The PX4 is the evolution of the 8000-series pistols, which I love. That is where the rotating barrel concept began.
I love it. Will look into it.
I'm just waiting for the 365XL sized DA/SA pistol
I think there are a lot of us waiting for that. Who will be first to put one out?
Just get the Canik DA pistol👍🏻
@@melissasmess2773 we need a subcompact...Hammer fired.
100% The compact model has been my carry gun for years. It is fantastic in every way. Crazy accurate, soft shooting, dead reliable, and a really good instinctive point shooter.
I always wanted the compact PX4, but then James did that Langdon Tactical PX4 video and I now need it.
I needed some James this morning, thank you... dad?
I been telling people for years that hardcore sf people use px4 in their kit a lot of times
I highly recommend it
My first handgun was a full size PX4 9mm. I still carry it on occasion, it is a great gun.
I have the PX4 Storm Compact with the Langdon Tactical trigger kit and it’s an amazing setup, huge fan
The thumb on the hammer thing is something I've said ever since I started carrying. Glad to hear a pro echo my thought process
