Something that i wish we got was a court scene. Depending on your choices your sentence could be at the least community services or at the most life in prison, but nope. If you surrender they give you 15 years no matter what.
Yeah. I thought so too. But instead of doing simple fucking forensics and actually realize that Sean didn't kill the officer, they just set him up with a 15 year undeserved punishment which makes my choices throughout the game worthless.
Yeah, but they even talked about how they’d be out of jobs "as soon as it’ll be legal" so it’s written as if weed was still illegal in California in 2016, which it wasn’t.
I just don't understand why the franchise hates Joyce so much😂 She loses her husband to a car crash, raises a problematic traumatised child as a result, gets in even more family arguments when David comes around, then she either loses Chloe or dies in a diner apart from her family. And now David just ditches her? wtf 😂
does she actually die? i thought she lived, the diner looked like it was still standing if u sacrifice the bay and i think david may mention her or joyce is sorta mentionned in life is strange 2 or smth
Yeah tbh idk why they keep wanting to fuck her life so hard 💀 My assumption is that she ditched him because of the implied alcohol issues he had in LIS1 and the mention of him going to AA in LIS2
32:38 I’m COLOSALLY surprised that no one addressed this plot hole. Like seriously? No one is questioning why Sean and Daniel can’t just drive to another part of the border and tear another hole there? They know that they’re being hunted big time and yet they still decide to drive through the actual border crossing? I get it. They’re both kids. But I’m sure that any 17 year old would know to avoid areas the police would most likely ambush them.
Daniel wouldn’t have been able to he got exhausted the 1st time he did that then got shot. If they did that again who know who would’ve hunted them at other stop. And most likely the hole would be swarmed by police to stop people from coming in. It’s subtext and makes sense why they went straight to the boarder itself.
What I think would have been interesting was if Sean's apparent talent for drawing was used to manifest a power. That would have not only given players a power that can be used more consistently, but also actually make Sean's art skills relevant in a big way, much like how Max's talent for photography ultimately led to photos being a method for her time travel.
14:27 this only happens if you encourage Daniel to keep hiding his power even if it means not saving Chris again like the last time, so it actually has nothing to do with his reaction time
yeah bc obviously after seen your father die in front of you and then seen your brother having superpowers out of nowhere that blow everything includng the police officer and then fainted you'll be 100% rational and would use the most logical idea not to mention that you're not 16. Fuck off all of you pseudo intellectuals lol
Bi.po97a well as someone who is 16 I would’ve cried while holding my fathers body in my arms or tried to wake up Daniel. Mostly because in that moment I would either be crying and frozen in place because I just witnessed my dad get killed in front of me or I would tunnel vision myself and only worry about my brother while blocking out any thoughts of my dad so that I could keep myself together.
Finding out that Captain Spirit meant nothing was such a huge let down. I wanted to know more about Chris and his dad :'( People used to call LiS 1 as tumblr the game. LiS2 is just twitter arguments.
The same goes for all the characters. His best friend at the beginning could be interesting, but you literally don't see her after Episode 1, the grandparents could be interesting but they're only in one episde, etc. The same goes for Chris and his dad, the group at the camp
You are the only person I've seen actually mention how many political issues are in this game. It's literally the equivalent of jumpscares in a horror game, it isn't clever writing nor is it interesting.
The devs tried to cram everything in 5 episodes. One moment you were working in a weed farm, next thing you know you're dealing with bootleg Eden's Gate.
The problem is if you point it out thete is the real issue of people accusing you of being any sort of -ist And I am sure "ists" might have problems with the political content, but genuine criticism is deliberstely shut down thanks to the assumtion of thw critics sensitivities
@@tonyremaro7132 Which message? There's a lot of them in the game, unless you're talking about the theme of it which doesn't have much of a message other than the preaching.
In an alternative universe, Sean and Daniel are immediately detained by the police but aren't charged because of insufficient evidence. Custody is then given to their grandparents, Sean and Daniel would have had a semi-normal childhood, Daniel would have made friends with Chris and had someone else to share his power with. Hell, they could have ripped off the first game completely and made another small town conspiracy and that would have made for a better experience than what we got.
Honestly, while it would probably get a lower critic score than the first game, sounds like a better idea than what we ended up getting. That and Dartigan's suggestion about Daniel being a telekinetic wolf.
I originally complemented this game for going in a different direction instead of re-hashing the first game's plot, but honestly, we really would have been better off with another small town conspiracy lmao
If LIS2 was just LIS, but instead of Max's teacher kidnapping people, it was Shaun trying to rescue Daniel from the cult, LIS2 wouldv'e been a great game.
merge the cult into the snow section with the grandparents and just have the bulling and parental escalation of such the cause of blow up there you go plot improved and removal of BS politics all in one. though the telekinetic wolf would be a good action platformer like okami and given dont nods good platformer hampered by bad action phases remember me though everyone on that team got fired when LIS blew up.
*sean and Daniel are immediately detained by the police but aren’t charged due to insufficient evidence* This must be that alternate reality where America has one of those “legal based justice systems”
I have to admit I'm a little bummed the nice trucker guy didn't take a sin off. He even gives you a sandwich just for looking hungry even though he's an old white guy.
@future flash which is funny because even in the south (at least where I am in the south) you'd have to deliberately find the places the racists are hiding and camping out. That just means you're looking for trouble.
@future flash Im a latino in a pretty southern state and its pretty nasty. luckly the cops where i live are super chill but I hace a neighbor who is kinda racist. this game definintly over does it though
@@spleeneater9481 You ever stop to think that maybe you're the one causing it? Because in my experience, no one is more openly racist than so called ''minorities''. Hell, it's seen as accepted today to be racist towards whites. Then there's this: ruclips.net/video/0RPp7llitQ0/видео.html
Making kids ride in the back of a truck is pretty common in the South. I remember riding around town like that. Doesn't make it any less illegal or stupid though.
Honestly the whole problem with season 2 is that the devs didn’t recognize which elements of season 1 made Life Is Strange “Life Is Strange.” The Twin Peaks element of season 1 could’ve been unique to Max and Chloe’s story, for example, and even the specific time powers. But nostalgia and the loss of childhood, the unreliability of adults with authority over you, uncovering interconnected secrets, childhood friendships challenged by the reality of growing up, all with a twist of the supernatural: these are core elements that could’ve been stretched across multiple seasons. If they wanted to do the same themes as what we got, it could’ve followed a police shooting in their town involving a friend and the kids trying to solve it. Sean should’ve had a paranormal ability that was a core gameplay mechanic, like seeing ghosts or hearing secrets on radios, or psychometry. And Daniel should’ve been an actual character instead of a plot device. And Sean! Ugh he was so bland and angsty, compared to Max who had far more self-awareness and honesty, you could find her likable even with all her flaws.
OMG just... Yes! You're spot on. With how under-utilized the superpower was, they could've just excluded it altogether, titled this game anything else, and no one would've suspected that it was meant to be a Life is Strange sequel.
Yep, couldn't agree with you more. And we could have got more of Sean's friend from season 1 (forgot her name), who I think had the most personality out of all these characters. She should have been Sean's Chloe and Sean should of had the super natural powers.
@Being Fit yes jack being white has nothing to do with having common sense about hate crimes tho, it's not like the internet and news outlets are hiding it, even so still we're talking about a game that he played his opinion still valid.
I think the biggest problem is that Dontnod decided to make the episode release dates so far apart from each other. It's easy to lose interest when by the time a new episode comes out, your mind is probably pre-occupied with another game. There's no mystery to solve here, and the cast of characters change every episode. It hard to keep engaged with the story when it jumps all over the place, and the long wait times certainly don't help.
I think the biggest problem with this game is that unlike season 1, there weren't interesting characters to invest time in and fall in love with. It was basically you and your brother adventuring through the forest and desert. And even when they gave you interesting characters, like Finn and Cassie, to invest in, they disappear in the same episode you find them in.
I think the fanbase of the second game is enthusiastic but much more self contained than the first. And probably smaller too I do like this game I do, for all the plot holes and messy narrative I at least enjoy the characters, and I'm always big on character relationships and interactions. But there's no denying the first game's plot is better written If it weren't for the fact I loved the growth in Sean and Daniel's relationship I think I probably would rlly not like this game
@@kimberlys8422 Yeah, he's so "sweet", he watches his older brother get pistol whipped and nearly shot in the face until he finally realizes "Oh right. I can literally just throw everyone across the room with my telekinesis."
rhonda howard He was legit brainwashed and manipulated by the Reverend for months (who is known for manipulating full blown adults might I add). Daniel being already traumatized and confused would be an easy target for her. In that situation Daniel was clearly confused, overwhelmed, and didn’t know what to believe or do. Might I add that in the next episode he completes bails Sean out of jail all by himself?
The bit where the grandfather gets himself trapped under furniture just to avoid such a stupid discussion had me in tears of laughter, it was so predictable and immediate! 😂
Maybe instead, have them try to tear another hole while we see the cops approaching in the background. Also, any prior choices made can determine whether or not the brothers can successfully escape.
What were they supposed to do? I don’t see how they’re going to find the hole they made earlier and Daniel will be just as exhausted if he made another hole.
I will give the game credit to Daniel’s attitude of going against Sean’s decisions at key points or acting on his own or obeying , it goes a way of showing choice mattering, though the CONTEXT waters it all down.
Lamont Prather at this point in the game he hasn’t learned to control his powers very well, so instead of lifting separate objects he creates more of a force push of all items around him when he’s scared, mad or upset
What happens? My ending was Daniel got out, blasted them all away, and they drove across. Then they lived in their dad's garage, taking out gangs with Daniel's power lol.
Thomas Lance That's Blood Brothers There's 4 endings in all spinning off morality between the two choices in the end, with a few variations depending on if you chose to romance anyone
i got the ending where sean got killed and daniel got to mexico. but i liked the endings in the 2nd game more compared to 1st but overall i liked the first game more
Which is very ironic, since it requires you to raise Daniel so that his mentality is low, to actually have an ending with both of them living together. You literally have to make Daniel and Sean the bad guys to achieve that... I feel a bit betrayed, still liked it though
In fairness to the Clicker sin, you don't have to play the Last of Us to know what a Clicker is, you just have to watch a bunch of gaming related RUclips videos.
I watch a lot (like A LOT) of gaming related YT videos. But I had no idea what a clicker was until I looked at Last of Us gameplay. Probably has something to do with me using an Xbox instead of the PS
3:03 I mean, he is a sixteen year old whose father got shot and who just saw his brother kill a cop with telekinesis... I would freak out and do something stupid like running away if I was him too. The whole game is about Sean learning how to be responsible and do the right thing, so it's natural that this is his starting point.
I mean as the game came out I was 16 too and even I was thinking that after at least arriving at their grandparents they should just give up running away...
Toxic Tears you’re lucky that you’re thinking like this. But not every single 16 yeard old boy does. You know, if this REALLY would happen to you, you could not think straight. It’s just how every shocking nerve get to you, and you would probably freak out. It’s easy to say that: oh, he’s sooo stupid, why isn’t he just stays there and wait for the police and try to speak to them ab what happened...- like cmon, his dad got shot right in front of him. His dad. It’s such a big thing, that nobody will ever be able to feel, unless their loved ones die in front of their face too.
On top of every point made here, this game did not need to be episodic. Literally nothing in this story warranted a *THREE MONTH* wait time. At least the first LIS kept you wanting to learn more at the end of each episode and the wait times between them were only 6-8 weeks
I was so upset when I played the first two chapters and realized I would have to wait months and even go back to school before for the end of the story. Eventually, I did get to finish and by then I had traveled myself and finished a semester of school. I'm glad I found a SO I could share it with, in the meantime, though.
14:31 this doesn’t depend on Daniels reaction time. Wether Daniel saves Chris or not depends on whether you Encouraged or punished Daniel for using his powers
“Hi everybody, we’re taking a year off to run away from cops. Daniel has got telekinesis now. Hope you’re doing well.” -Sean. Lol, yes, Sean that sums up your game pretty much.
21:32 that entire confrontation could’ve been easily avoided. Sean didn’t have to get out of the car. He could’ve just quickly started up the car and driven off.
Come to think of it most of these endings is make little sense because of dartigan said they have the dash cam footage and so there's no way a 16 year old boy was able to knock a police officer down along with an upside-down car
You guys are idiots!! THEY WOULD TAKE DANIEL AWAY FOR GOOD IF THEY FOUND OUT HE HAD THE POWERS. THATS WHY SEAN(ME) RAN AWAY. TO PROTECT DANIEL. HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN PAYING ATTENTION?!
@@rickdixion9965 I can't help but be amazed at people making accounts posing as videogame characters and trying hard to roleplay. Also, I'm amazed that this one is the cringiest out of all that I can remember.
24:04-I agree with you on your rant on Karen. She basically abandoned her kids and husband because she doesn’t want to raise them and be a stay at home house wife. Well too bad, those boys came out of her womb and she’s obligated to raise them. Not to mention she chose to marry that guy. She just comes off as a dead beat who thinks women shouldn’t be mothers and wives. Well, who in the hell is paying for Karen’s “free life style”? Who’s the one, working themselves in a job that some people like her husband hate to pay the bills as well as the food, clothes, cleaning products and the house they live in? It’s like Karen doesn’t appreciate s**t.
I was so irritated by the payoff (or lackthereof) about Karen. I had been theorising that she had left them because she herself had some sort of power and was afraid of hurting her two young boys. Instead we got a deadbeat mum.
That's literally the point. You're supposed to think that it was something big but really she just didn't think being a mother was her thing. She tried to make it work but she never fit in. It's something people can relate to, and she is probably one of the best written characters in the franchise.
@@aaronc.5002 I realise it was the point, but that doesn't make it narratively more interesting. There are plenty of stories with deadbeat parents done a million times better than this. The game did a disservice by hyping it up as something more than it was, because it was simply a let down to an already slow-moving narrative.
@@cattledogandstaffy I disagree. I love the realism rather than giving her a power or something. I was on the "she has a power" thing for awhile until it was revealed. I like the realism, but you're free to disagree.
I don’t know why “parting ways” is considered the best ending. Sean’s whole goal was to live with his brother, which he doesn’t get to do. (It also doesn’t help that I didn’t like either of the love interests so Sean would be living there alone). Daniel would also be separated, which he didn’t want, and wouldn’t be living a normal life since he is living under house arrest. Sean dying is the worst ending, if you think differently, you’re wrong. “Blood brothers” is probably the best ending, by technicality. It’s exactly what both of them wanted, to live together in puerto lobos. It isn’t my favorite ending because it means both Sean and Daniel have low morality to get this ending, which I don’t like. “Redemption” is my favorite ending, even though I don’t really like it that much either. Daniel and Sean are semi separated like in “parting ways” except Daniel isn’t on house arrest so he can live a normal life. It takes a while but Sean and Daniel are back together and can live together and be happy in the end. Plus, I like lyla as a love interest more than Cassidy or Finn and her being there at the release made me like the ending a bit more. Sean’s ultimate goal through the game was to protect Daniel and give him the best life he can. This is the ending that does that the best.
I got Redemption ending first playthrough, but switched it to parting ways cause having Sean spend 15 years of his life for shit he didn't do/deserve was absolute bs. Even though I wanted them to be together to. I thought parting ways was better for Sean anyway.
Blood brothers is terrible in my opinion. Sean is kinda using Daniels powers and daniel looked depressed. I liked parting ways the most because daniel simply never wanted to go to mexiko. And at he end both were happy and that's what matters. But yeah, it also depends if you liked one of the love interest of course! Because Sean alone in mexico is lame. Redemption is my second favourite. 15 years are terrible but it seems to be the right thing to do, yes. (sean dying is really the worst)
Redemption and Lone wolf are both terrible in my opinion cuz they’re the worst choices for Sean. He’s either becomes broken or dead. I think both blood brothers and parting ways are the best endings
"This is what happens when 'everything is political'. it becomes a sucking void of humor, enjoyment, and creativity." COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER MYSELF! THAT IS THE ENTIRE GAME EXPLAINED! So much wasted potential for something with the title of "Life is Strange 2"!!!!!!
Sir Memecelot LXIX the thing u miss and important note . The fact that they were in the south. Since slavery the south has been basically the home of white supremacists . So maybe they wouldn’t of met so many but it’s not near impossible just saying but open to discussion
True, luckily, no one was forced to play this game. I loveeeee the LIS franchise and took this game as it came. If I decided 2 episodes in that the message was too much, i could just delete it and forget about it. It's a form of art, and with art comes a message, and despite our opinions on it, that was the message the artists decided to portray, even if it was heavily shoved down your throat. I chose to play it regardless and fell in love with Sean and Daniel's story/adventure. I loved the come and go characters aspect and the fact that your ending was determined on how you taught Daniel. Art is a beautiful thing, but sometimes the message the artist is sending isn't your style, too heavy portrayed, or fit your beliefs that's just how it is, and that's why I love art so much!
I tried to be open minded about this game, but right at the beginning, the whole street is destroyed, the father is found dead, the police have a footage when you can hear only one gun shot sound, then some super weird explosion … first reflex of the police in this game ? The 16 y.o and 9 y.o are suspects ... IRL, the police would immediatly assume they've been kidnapped or worse. The plot doesn't make any sense ...
Sean was trying to protect his brother who killed a cop using super powers. I wouldn’t want to stick my brown ass around either to try and explain any of those things.
@@irismercado92 but there wasnt any footage of Daniel using his power so why would he try to protect him, hell Sean doesnt even know what Daniels power is at that point
@@irismercado92 Sean didn't know that Daniel had powers, therefore he had no idea Sean was responsible for the explosion. But please continue to bend the plot of the game to make up for horrible writing instead of just admitting that the game is trash.
Dontnod, being a french studio, really did not know what they were doing with the setup for this game. They didn't even need the cop to have a reason to shoot the father. Could have just as easily had the bully kid call the cops over nothing, a thing that actually happens, without the stupid fake blood stain, and had the father shot over a simple argument because cops are notoriously bad at de-escalation, or maybe the cop was just a racist asshole like everyone else in the game. Then, don't have the street explode for no reason, have Daniel push the cop over and maybe the gun flies forward near Sean. Cop scrambles for the gun and Sean, afraid the Cop is going to shoot them too, tries to grab the gun and they struggle for the gun and he accidentally shoots the cop, giving a legitimate reason for why Sean would NEED to run away to Mexico. There, I fixed it. Wouldn't change how heavy handed the rest of the game is but at least the setup would actually make sense.
The Demon Curupira I originally complimented the narrative for not having trouble in the place you’d expect it, that party Sean was going to, but the alternative clearly is not much better If powers had to show up like this, I’d have introduced a secret service of some kind, because then “Testing” would be something to think about
Man I'm french myself and trust me, we are very aware of police brutality issues, the people who wrote this seem just incompetent and not actually involved in any political issues surrounding police brutality and stuff like this.
That would make a lot more sense! I never got why Sean thought that going to Mexico would be a good idea. I get that his father is from Mexico but still. I live in Europe so dont know what peole in the US thinks, but isnt there a lot of organised crime in Mexico with drug dealing and gang members and stuff? I mean Sean is 16 and panicked but it was a bad idea to begin with sadly
Being an older sibling, I kinda related to Sean at first, I thought he'd witnessed Daniel's powers in the first instance and that was why he was running. Then the plot kind of fell through and kept getting more and more convoluted just to make it to such a bizarre ending. I got the same ending too and I was so mortified that I'd spent several months (I played on release) getting this supernatural kid across the border for him to fuck me over in the end. I would have been 100% done with my sibling if I'd taken multiple near-death beatings, terrorist sized explosions, the loss of an eye AND a normal childhood for them to throw everything away at the last minute. Honestly I kind of applaud Sean for his patience and incredible ability to forgive. Also I need to make an additional sin: They've played The Last of Us and drew 0% survival skills from it, not even PICK UP THE GUN AND KEEP IT.
To be honest, yes. A car being flipped over in the street, a gunshot, and everything burning around you would ellicit a response from the neighbors. Does no else live on that street besides the Diaz family and the Fosters?
Daniel didn’t use his power when Chris was about to get hit by a car because he was repressed from using the power and you either protected the secret or you told Daniel to tell Chris the truth and he disobeyed and Chris still thought he had the power
Yeah, this is one of the few times where your previous choices matter. In my play through, I told Daniel to use his powers if he needs to to save those he cares about. So the pushed away the car in my playthrough and Chris lived.
Dani V. This game would’ve made more sense if Sean had a power of his own or if Sean had Daniels power. Atleast then our choices would be more diverse. What doesn’t make sense is how In LIS 1 Max’s power has no drain on her and doesn’t hurt her while Daniels power drains him physically if he uses it too much. In the beginning of the game Daniel threw a car and was knocked out for 24 hours and had memory loss but Max’s power never came with any backlash. This makes no sense to me they both have powers that they use ALOT but Daniel is the one who gets backlash from it.
Mad King Well, I don’t exactly agree but I see what you’re getting at. I think if Sean has Daniels powers the game wouldnt have achieved the brotherhood aspect. The whole point is that cliche troupe of ‘teen / older person raises child’ like a parental figure. The part it fails is the storyline itself, it was contrived, forced and irrelevant from the start. Sean and daniel could’ve achieved this same journey without even leaving their town tbch, it would’ve helped develop both characters but instead they had them travel around with a bogus ass plot line that went nowhere and our characters remain flat / unbelievable / non realistic. As for the first LiS Max does have repurcussions, remember her nose bleeds after she used it too much? The major one was where Kate committed suicide, once that happens Max loses her ability to reverse time so it’s imperative you either save her or don’t. You can’t undo that decision. Daniel is actually flipped, it’s Max whose powers have repercussions and actually make sense / stay relevant in the game but Daniel is established to have issues with his powers once and then never again does he have back lash. That’s another thing the game failed at, it doesn’t offer a sturdy power system for Daniel. We know he can lift trees and cars but sometimes he’s only able to barely throw a gun? Max had concrete rules to her power. They only became broken when the whole ‘looking at a picture can take you back to this place’ thing happened.
To be honest I wish the game didn't have this much unrealistic racism, I mean I live in the south.. with my whole family.. that are latina, and I've never seen so much racism shoved down someones throat like this before Also the political thing, I feel like this game has very clear message saying basically that anyone with a higher power than you is bad evil assholes ( politicians, cops, your boss, rich people, that mall, preachers, adults if you're a kid, the government but that one is not a surprise, etc.), and people who don't have power are super good, open-minded, third eye waking, saviors. It all feels so forced and unrealistic
unrealistic?? you’re aware shit like this actually happens right? you may be latina but so are other people who have to go through shit like that, such as racist cops who kill innocent people for no reason or being told to “go back to your own country” its fucked up, but its real :/
@@azaraxy okay, but there's yes it happens to other people and then there's just saying there's comically racist white person at every turn. I also live in the south and a biracial girl who grew up in a majority white town and the only black kid in class, this idea that there's so many racist people on every corner is so eye rolling it hurts. There are racist people and there's definitely people saying go back to your own country but it's not like they're not called out and doxxed. Look at all the karens that get made fun of and laughed at.
The Final Rumbling there narrative is built off of making ever white cop a bad person for doing there job. The only bad cop was the one in the beginning who shot Sean and Daniels dad for no reason. The cops would’ve seen the Sean and Daniels dad dead the street destroyed and the bully dead and asked questions that would’ve led them to trying to figure out what happened instead of pinning it on the brothers
I think it was just a “My dads dead, the kids dead, the cops dead, and I’m the only one conscious” kind of mentality, so he panicked. Fight or Flight and he picked flight. It would be really hard to think straight in that moment, and once you’ve started running you can’t stop because you look guilty.
I think what they are trying to tell us is that Sean and Daniel are not Americans they are but they are Spanish and the games showing us that being racist is a big thing. Even if Daniel told the police what happened they probably wouldn’t believe him. So I can see him running out of fear. There’s a point in the game we’re Sean mentions his dad worked his ass off to be able to live in America the games showing us it’s not easy if your Spanish living in America or anywhere cause there’s lots of racist people out there.
@@ryans413 it's still inflated experience. Being Latino can be tough but telling kids that in no event can they just trust police to do the right thing is the worst outcome. Especially if they do have grandparents to send to just a state away.
29:48 additional sin. Sean and Daniel for some reason park 50 feet away away from the wall and walk all the way from their car even though they could’ve just parked it next to the wall before tearing a hole in it. They also have no concerns whatsoever that there could be security patrolling the perimeter. Although I get that Sean is a teenager and maybe he had too much on his mind to worry about security.
Do you get it? They were trying to break into Mexico, but they were arrested for trying to break into the US. I love serious political commentary that could've been a Monty Python sketch.
@@mariokarter13 Not even, at least Monty Python sketches were clever, maybe not always the most subtle things in the world, (like the paid argument sketch,) but still interesting. LIS2 is more like trying to watch a half assed Jeff Dunham show.
I blame Trump for all the racist retards that attack Sean for no reason. Touche, writers. Sean was born in USA, speaks fluent English with an American accent and a bunch of Trumpie trash keep calling him illegal, telling him to go back to his own country, etc. Honestly pissed me off. It's an over-exaggeration of what's really going on in America.
Despite this game being my favorite I had most of these thoughts while watching the playthrough. I think it's the aesthetic that makes me love it so much, there's no other game like it. My biggest grievance is that Sean got his ass beat at every turn despite CLEARLY showing he knows how to fight when he beat his neighbor into a seizure.
That's kinda what I was hoping for at the end of the Captain Spirit demo. An inspiring story about a kid with superpowers who tries his best to use them for good despite the fact that he's still struggling to figure out what it means to be a good person.
7:14 him not traveling to Canada id say was a pretty wise decision since they live in Seattle, Canada is pretty close and police would probably guess they were heading there and Canadian authorities would also probably be looking for him, but Mexico is much farther away and doesn't speak the language and is less developed and more corrupt and its much easier to hide. just saying it's much more likely that a Canadian has heard of a missing pair of minors from Seattle that's a couple miles away from the border than there is an impoverished Mexican person having heard about a missing pair of boys in Seattle.
i actually liked this game more than LIS1, i wasn’t really a fan of LIS1 to begin with since i’ve had a deeply hectic life and never got to experience any teen stuff like Max and Chloe. i always moved around and raised my brother myself since my dad was in and out of jail. this game means so much to me.
I feel like this game is an actual good representation of brotherhood. Especially when you're a big brother that has to teach your little brother. I feel like this was pretty down to earth and I like that. The first one was good but the second holds alot more sentimental value to me.
@Jaydens Bacons it was pretty realistic to me despite the little things. It showed the importance in family and the wolf brothers story is so heartwarming
@@rickdixion9965 same. It was really good and I actually was able to connect with Sean more than Max and with Sean it's easier to put your own personality into him. I feel like people are just pissy that they can't rewind their decisions and everything isn't a puzzle. It's two brothers trying to find their home. That's beautiful in itself tbh there's no need for mechanic that lets you pretty much cheat the whole game
Police would have nothing to charge them with. - The neighbor would have had no serious injuries besides the fall or the optional face bruise. - There'd be no way to tie the car explosion to the Diaz family. Honestly, I'd be more concerned about how the Seattle PD would handle one of their own officers shooting an unarmed man.
Simple, he resisted arrest. That's the easiest explanation for it. If the dad just lied down on the ground like he was told to this wouldn't have happened.
@@TheCynicalAutist there was no probable cause for him to arrest Esteban especially since he had just arrived at the scene with no idea that something had occurred between Daniel and that other kid. Including witness testimony, the Seattle PD would need to have a damn good explanation for this shit if the kids, hell the neighbors told them what happened.
@@2-dsynctium773 Thanks, FBI. But still, if an officer is telling you to do something, for your own sake, just do it. It doesn't matter if you feel like it's unfair, any complaints can be made later during interrogation or a court hearing.

6:00 that's not even the worst part. Mr. Rebellious Princess Trope over here could've used his family's money to, y'know, *do* something. he's lucky a magical child came along to make his life worthwhile.
The most frustrating part about this game is I really enjoy the concept of two brothers running away from home in a modern setting. Too bad this game falls super flat in execution. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons tackles this concept much better without even using a single line of dialogue.
Daniel is a badly written child character to me because his actions are inconsistent and he seems to be whiny and confrontational at times simply to create a conflict. This is what makes him unlikable. AJ is a defiant child character too, but his actions always have an explanation behind them.
honestly i related to daniel more than sean, i only have an older brother and daniel's actions always felt like something i would do with my brother. I feel like with these games if you cant relate to the characters you will not enjoy the game and that includes the first game and before the storm.
I remember by episode 4 it became abundantly clear to me that Dontnod had run out of ideas. Say what you will about Telltale but they at least seem to have a vague idea of what each episode is going to focus on from the beginning and their writing and voice acting at the very least insures that there will be something interesting in every one.
20:14 They made you do this test to show you how difficult it is to pass it because you play on a 2D screen and therefore showing what's like to only see with one eye.
22:33 I am a Latino with an older brother and was raised by a single parent and yet I relate more to the first Life is Strange and Before The Storm than I do to Life is Strange 2.
The Last Of Us has the same concept of a roadtrip journey but does it so much better. Here, characters aren't interesting enough for me to care about and I didn't really miss any of them once we had to leave them behind.
I wouldn't say the characters in Life is Strange 2 were uninteresting, but there were just so many ever-changing characters. The original Life is Strange had a number of characters that you slowly began to relate to as the story went on, but Life is Strange 2 literally has a different group of supporting characters in each episode, so you don't have any time to start relating to them.
When their dad died Sean woke up finding everyone unconscious except him and his dad shot dead on the floor so I think he assumed the cops would blame him too so I see why he panicked and ran away, it was either fight or flight for him For the racism, None of the episodes was as extreme as the “white people are bad” narrative that people sound it to be : Episode 1 : guy at the gas station and Brody the nice guy Episode 2 & 3 : None Episode 4 : the Chad guy and his friend being actually reasonable and the truck guy being nice Episode 5 : the two vigilantes VS the white cop actually asking her to shut up and being nice with Sean and agent Flores wanting to help. I don’t think they exaggerated the racism, they were all situations that I have actually seen, either them pushing Sean or saying to go back to his country, etc. I’ve seen them all really I think your choices actually affected the endings depending on how you chose to bring up Daniel, him either accepting surrendering or refusing , etc. For their relationship I think if you have siblings you would connect more with them, how them being 7 years apart and Daniel not liking anything that his brother says and whines a lot as he’s also nine years old and Sean wanting to protect him. Overall for me I really loved the game and felt more connected with it than the 1st one , I think people give it too much hate and blame, I would have loved tho to see a court scene or Sean getting less than the undeserved 15 years.
"The Chad guy" was probably the biggest racist caricature in the entire game. I wouldn't classified a violent man throwing out racial slurs as reasonable. His pal was alright, though he should've intervene more.
This story would have potential if it wasn't clearly written by a bunch of virtue signaling White French people pretending that they understand American race relations. Also, it doesn't help that the main character constantly behaves like an idiot and puts his brother in danger when he doesn't have to. For instance, he could have just left Daniel with their grandparents when the police caught up with them at the grandparents' house. Daniel wouldn't have been prosecuted (since he's only 9 years old and was never a suspect). And he would have been safe and well cared for with them. But instead, Sean drags his little brother into the snowy forest and makes him work on an illegal weed farm and live with a bunch of gross, unwashed hippies and dangerous, gun-toting drug dealers. And Sean's ultimate plan in all this is to move himself and his brother to Mexico (the country their father fled from because it sucks) even though they have NO IDEA if their dad still has family there, if the family will even want them, if their dad's property is still vacant, how they'll get by there with regards to money/school/etc. The first Life is Strange had it's flaws. But at least the story didn't completely hinge of Max being a dumbass
Why would the two children's father walk towards the policman (especially after he said don't move") when he had his kids at gun point? But the two lads followed the officer's instructions by getting on the ground so the reasonable conclusion from the father shoulda been that the officer won't harm his kids
You are aware that Sean is a sixteen year old (17 by the end probably) that has to take care of another human from Oregon all the way to Mexico. You wouldn't make the smartest decisions all the time. I know it's easy to judge stupid decisions because you're just playing a game and youre not actually there, but this game works a lot better if people could empathize a little.
Honestly have to agree, there's panic and the chaos that follows it, and just being a complete fucking moron that trues to actively screw every situation they're in.
just finished the game. 1 more extra sin here in episode 1 Sean somehow managed to convince a 9 year old to walk for 2 days along the highway with barely any food to eat
I feel like if you just label this game a political mess, you’re not giving enough credit to the game. This game is about 2 brothers who are being forced to grow up and become adults trying to survive from the hardships of the world and trying to start a new life. It’s those 2 against the world. This game dealt with so many other problems besides racism , it dealt with single parenting, weed legalization, child abuse, anti vaccination, immigration, conversion therapy, and more. Plus it’s not like this is an unrealistic portrayal race relations and immigration in America, there are racist people in the world, there’s no arguing that. You can not like politics in your games, but this is the Life is Strange series and it’s not like Life is Strange 1 doesn’t have themes of feminism and sexual assault, so it was to be expected. 12:16 I don’t know what you mean by “real people” real people experience discrimination everyday. Hate against kids and teens is also a thing too. This story can connect well with anyone who has ever experienced discrimination and racism. Even if you never experienced it, if you have a younger kid sibling like I do, this story does a great job at putting yourself in their shoes and wanting to do everything to protect your little brother. And everyone likes to bring up the story is stupid because Sean never should’ve ran away from the incident. But it’s a 16 year old kid who just saw his dad get shot, his brother cause an explosion killing a cop, of course he is scared and panicking. He even says later in the game that he was scared, who wouldn’t be? All the while with his racist neighbor still being alive who most definitely would’ve put blame and charges on Sean. It’s an easy situation to pick at while playing the game, but to understand you gotta put yourself in their shoes.
yes exactly!!!! People always seem to put so much blame on Sean but it's actually understandable that he freaked out, he's a kid who just watched his dad die of course he freaked out and by the time he was on the road he felt like it was too late to turn back.
They put in every mode of social ill into the story, that it would feel forced and misplaced. Even the level of discrimination being so prevalent towards the protagonists is just simply laughable. Like come on now...you happen to insert every stereotype imaginable to befit some narrative the devs think there was *to this extent.*
Kevin Morales There’s only like four scenes I can remember with discrimination and racism being forcefully shown those are the racist neighbor scene, the gas station scene with the owner, Sean getting beat up on the side of the road, and the wall scene with Daniel getting shot by border vigilantes. None of them I felt was unrealistic except maybe for the gas station owner kidnapping. Border vigilantes are a real thing down near the US Mexico border in Arizona so it’s not like this was out of the realm of possibility. It’s not like Life is Strange isn’t a series that isn’t afraid to talk about social issues, the first game had plenty examples of them, if a person is the type that says “you don’t like politics in your games” then the life is strange series was never for them anyway.
And it had nothing at all to say about those themes besides “right bad, left good.” Also, what was forcing the kids to embark on this journey? Every choice they made was because of their own emotions and persecution complex. As Dartigan said, they could’ve just lived with their grandparents as there was no evidence to suggest they committed murder
Regarding why Sean ran away at the beginning of the game, you have to look at his actions from the point of view of a scared and traumatized 16 year old with limited understanding of how the world works, and with distrust in authority arising from his father being recently murdered for no reason, as well as years of probable systematic discrimination that he and other people like him experienced in his lifetime. Furthermore, his main fear was being separated from his brother in case of his arrest. Remember that at the beginning of the game he had no idea where his mother was and it is later revealed that he hadn't seen his grandparents since Karen left. Plus, his dad had no immediate relatives there either (it is mentioned that his relatives are still in Puerto Lobos) so he most likely feared that Daniel would be placed in foster care with strangers. Also, unrelated to this, if your Daniel didn't save Chris, that is because you discouraged him from using his powers. If you encourage him throughout the game, then he will save him.
You know, I don't think they experienced much racism just from playing the game. Sean didn't seem to know how to deal with many racist situations which lead me to believe that the only racist person he encountered was his neighbor who really didn't bother him that much. Not saying the racist acts were justified in the game but I don't get how he thought that he would get into trouble as a Hispanic person as he didn't seem to experience racism in that town and his father didn't seem to ever feel the need to talk to him about it.
There was also the part where Sean stole the truck to reach Haven Point. And the option to knock out the security guard at the hospital. Otherwise, that was pretty much the whole list.
My biggest problem with this game is that unlike in the first game or True Colours, there is a constant change of environment with a constant change of supporting characters. I'm having a hard time trying to connect to characters who barely get any screentime because they basically disappear off the map at the end of an episode. Like, why couldn't we spend almost the entire game with Lyla and Brody, or perhaps with the drifters? That would've been interesting. Also, the police trying to pin Officer Matthew's murder on Sean absolutely makes no sense whatsoever. The police car was overturned, the officer died of blunt force trauma from being pushed against some hard object, and they literally have dashcam footage showing them a massive gust of wind overturning the cop car. I'm really fucking curious how prosecution is gonna explain how a 16 year old managed to do that.
-This is a really long comment- Yeah. I still agree with his points, but I also still like the game. I probably shouldn’t base my own opinion on the objective quality of the game, but rather if I do or don’t still like it after acknowledging it’s flaws. With that in mind, I still like Life is Strange 2, even after knowing that it has some serious push factors. I loved the adventure, I loved the twist and turns, and I enjoyed going through all struggles, just to see what would happen after. All of these points have objectively bad writing writing involved, but I still can’t stop liking Life is Strange 2. I guess it’s ok to like a game with bad writing, I think that’s called a guilty pleasure, actually. But when I tell people that I like the game, I don’t feel embarrassed to talk about it or avoid discussing the game with someone who is interested. Point is, I think I know where I stand now when deciding if I still like the game.
27:27 it's even more hilarious when you read more into their characters and find out that the city they ran away from to escape homophobic discrimination is... San Francisco
sin 13 was exactly my complaint...... How the heck did people conclude that Sean killed the officer? what's the proof? Not only that, but the area is blown up and cars have been destroyed, if anything I'd act unconscious than get up and move with the bro. The cops will think something else was the issue and the kids would be sent to grandparents.... Then the investigation would begin. BUT I still love this game for its realistic character portrayal. I know you may say they're 1-dimensional, but I assure you on that's how racism works
exactly (about the 1D racist people) yeah i don’t really think the guy running this channel hasn’t been discriminated against, cuz most racists are 1D jerks with facts solely based off bigotry
@@probablykillua4680 That's where you're wrong. The creators of the game never experience discrimination, they paint their picture of what THEY think discrimination is. Noone is going around acting like the racist in this game its just unrealistic and over blown
They ran away because sean knew they would be split up, considering they’re was no evidence they werent guilty. they couldn’t explain his power because they only found out after they committed robbing the gas station which is evidence to there case.
The first episode was really good, although I wanted to party, smoke weed and eat cookies with my friends. From the second episode you should buy a gift for Daniel that you obviously cannot pay for !! By chance I saw this yo-yo in the box and the game wanted me to steal it
Mark David I feel like it would have been more interesting for Sean to get powers at the party instead somehow or like atleast see that scene because for the most part, this game was about a road trip to Mexico
you can actually start off with more money in episode 2 so that you don't have to steal the yoyo and can buy several things, and if you didn't have enough money there was a dialogue option to lower the price of something so that you could afford it
Daniel never suffered from memory loss by using his power. He either passed out or knocked himself out with his power and didn’t see the cop or his Dad die right afterwards in front of him. Hence why Sean picked him up unconscious and ran off. Still, the game is still either inconsistent since he never passes out or gets knocked out again or they’re running with a barely passable excuse that he can handle his power well enough now to be fine.
This is a big plot hole. If you read the documents in episode 4, the cult leader did test with Daniel and found that he gets tired from using a lot of his powers. She tried getting him more food to regain his strength but it didn't work. Despite this fact, Daniel uses his powers to do a lot more than what he had him do and he never runs out of energy. He never passes out again and he seems to have unlimited power though he struggles with certain objects. It's inconsistent with this information and expects us as the viewers to just ignore these problems.
You know, I would have forgiven this game for all of its sins if they had included a secret option after the death of the cop to have Sean stand and wait for the police in 10 real time minutes (a la Far Cry 4), and that resulted in them being cleared of wrongdoing and living a happy life with their Grandparents. The end.
*LIS 1, episode 5:* being kidnapped by a psychopath who murdered your best friend and wants to kill you next so you need to scape by time travelling, jumping through multiple timelines, then facing a huge tornado that is about to destroy the whole town and kill all the friends you love. *LIS 2, episode 5:* Helping my mom carry the groceries, eating pancakes, building a sculpture with a hippie, playing scavanger hunt with my brother, talking to gay rudes about gay marriage. Dude, that didn't feel like a final episode AT ALL. (The endings are DOPE tho. Fantastic. But only the last 30 minutes)
Dude, the finale to LiS1 is notoriously known for being the worst one due to all of the shit you just listed about it. It was messy, disorienting, and downright absurd in terms of writing. Chloe was barely even in it. Pretty much everyone agrees LiS2 has a better finale.
@@mal3nkoI desagree with the LIS 1 finale being messy/poorly written tho. It could've been better, and explored more the character of Nathan instead of throwing a lazy nightmare sequence, but in general, I think it was a great episode.
I got the ending where Sean and Daniel both escaped to Mexico and that was a much better ending in my opinion but yeah I played the first episode and thought “yep. these kids have terrible judgment. I bet they’re gonna get into all sorts of shit that could’ve been avoided rather easily.” oh how right I was
This game’s political content is as subtle as a serial killer bashing your head in with a brick, and equally intelligent in its writing as the blatant straw-men it puppets around as “the other side”. I honestly wouldn’t be the slightest bit surprised if the next game’s protagonist was an AntiFa activist violently beating the shit out of anyone who disagreed with their stance and actions by the slightest margin, in addition to causing copious amounts of property damage, all in the name of fighting for their domestic terrorist group under the objectively false notions of “being the good guys” and/or “being on the right side of history”.
The devs probably thought that making the protagonists a black family would've been too on the nose lol. Besides, even if they had, there's no way they could've also shoehorned in all the "wall" bits and such
Dartigan, do you know how many minors get tried as an adult in the US? Being 16 is NOT a get out of jail free card in that country unfortunately! There's so many kids in prison it's ridiculous, of course sean would panic!
@@knivesmillions2913 Wow now how do you know I haven't chief? Look man if you break the law that's on you, one must take responsibility for ones actions. Nah, I'd pull the switch on the chair myself be it father, brother or son. I'm not talking about the same situation as the game, you mentioned the real world and that's what I'm addressing. The law shouldn't be ignored because you have preference and you shouldn't let your emotions get the better of you, quite frankly it's weak and INCREDIBLY dangerous for society, because if you can do it then the actual "bad guys" can do it too, It's a slippery slope m'man
@@SassyCassie89 I somewhat agree there are crimes that are unforgivable mostly violent offenses like murder, rape, and sexual assualt...however all I was saying is that we must put ourselves in the positions others because pushed to the point of desperation and fear people will bend the rules for survival. If for example say you and your family were homeless and were starving, for survival you would steal in order to acquire food. And we must acknowledge that the law is very ruthless there are things in place that unnecessarily punish people for even minor offenses like mandatory minimums or even things like cash bail which hurts poor people because...well most can't afford it and mostly the well off can.
I guess I should quote Yahtzee on this "What follows is a textbook example of an idiot plot, a plot that can only happen because every single character is an idiot"
I think the point was that it was much easier to flee and hide out in Canada as there are many points along the US / Canadian border that isn't monitored. Once in Canada, assuming you make it, there is enough wilderness and areas away from the public that they could have hid and lived a much easier life than in Mexico. Helps that they were much closer to Canada at the start of the game as well.
That sorta makes sense, but thinking long term, life in Canada would be way harder than Mexico. Also, if they did go to Canada they’d constantly have to be hiding, whereas in Mexico they seem to have a house already. Getting into Canada would be easier but life wouldn’t get much better once they were there.
@@danielshiao1853 I don't see how it would be easier. They'd have to hide in Mexico as well and the U.S. government does work with Mexico and Canada to get criminals back to the U.S. That house in Mexico hasn't been their fathers for at least 17 years, why would they have a claim to it? I'm surprise that house in Mexico wasn't torn down or heavily damaged actually. Most of Canada is uninhabited unlike Mexico where majority of it (outside of the deep desert) is. Make it to the top portion of Canada and they'd be good. Either way they'd have a hard time though but what's better, fighting gangs in Mexico (something they show in the Mexico endings) or living in the wilderness of Canada? Mind you, in both cases they'd still be tracked by either countries government and still the U.S. police.
@@ThisIsDjYigytugd Hiding out in the wilderness isn't that easy. Even in some of the warmer parts of Canada, the temperature regularly drops below freezing in the winter. Also, where are they going to get food, clean water, shelter and supplies? This becomes an even bigger problem if they go farther north as you suggest. If they do that, I doubt they would survive the winter. Also, just because they do not live there, does not mean that the house does not still belong to their father. To be fair though, I don't know how they knew where the house was or how they even got there once they were in Mexico. Overall, I do feel that life in Mexico would be easier than living in the wilderness in Canada. Even just in the game, they have a significantly more difficult time living in the wilderness than they do evading police and other criminals.
Sean wouldn't be facing the death penalty over the cop's death because he's too young so the mexican government would've extradited him back to the united states without a second thought, same goes for the canadian government.
I'm glad you actually adressed the political shit in this game, I swear it's like beating you over the head with a sledgehammer. Of course, if you have politics that are more left leaning, you could stomach this to a certain degree (I say to a certain degree because I know a few left leaning people would probably be sick of it), but it basically casts all right leaning people as hateful people with the strawmen it sets up to the point where people with center views and right leaning views are basically alienated. It's like making a Harry Potter video game but having a heavy message of believing in Jesus and being anti witch craft.

I was thinking the same thing like it's a wall around the border of 2 countries you can make more than one hole

With how under-utilized the superpower was, they could've just excluded it altogether, titled this game anything else, and no one would've suspected that it was meant to be a Life is Strange sequel.
soulfulreaper If you ever watch geek remix they said they should have just given it a different title. The only connection to it being LIS is David.
@Miguel Dixon life is strange and BTS felt more of a mystery where as LIS 2 was more of a "we are running from the law".
@Miguel Dixon O yes but BTS is over rated and Before the Storm is under rated.
Yep, couldn't agree with you more. And we could have got more of Sean's friend from season 1 (forgot her name), who I think had the most personality out of all these characters. She should have been Sean's Chloe and Sean should of had the super natural powers.
Even Jacksepticeye felt the writers were “irresponsible” when it came to the politics in this game.
Why though ?
@@JoJo-gi5sc probably cuz they put more work into the world story and characters. This is my opinion tho

Honestly ive been wondering for months why this game got zero fan fare. Dartigan is right, this is the most i've seen about this game
If i know one thing about marketing, it's this:
Teenage lesbians > teenage and preteen boys.
@@alexs1640 Exactlyy. Also the fact that the superpower wasn't integral to the story or gameplay when LIS1 revolved around you using the power.
I think the fanbase of the second game is enthusiastic but much more self contained than the first. And probably smaller too

I thought it was stupid how Sean drove them to the border entrance. It should have been obvious that cops would be waiting
After destroying part of the border wall that likely would have less people there too.
Maybe instead, have them try to tear another hole while we see the cops approaching in the background. Also, any prior choices made can determine whether or not the brothers can successfully escape.
Should've driven to the hole they made. I'm sure there would be less people there
So what were they supposed to do?
What were they supposed to do? I don’t see how they’re going to find the hole they made earlier and Daniel will be just as exhausted if he made another hole.
I will give the game credit to Daniel’s attitude of going against Sean’s decisions at key points or acting on his own or obeying , it goes a way of showing choice mattering, though the CONTEXT waters it all down.

This is the ending that does that the best.
is redemption the one where Sean spends time in jail? damn he looks tormented
I think there is a variation where Lyla doesn’t meet him at his release. I think this is if you choose to never call her
I got Redemption ending first playthrough, but switched it to parting ways cause having Sean spend 15 years of his life for shit he didn't do/deserve was absolute bs.

Dkrjo couldn’t of said it better!

The Demon Curupira I originally complimented the narrative for not having trouble in the place you’d expect it, that party Sean was going to, but the alternative clearly is not much better
If powers had to show up like this, I’d have introduced a secret service of some kind, because then “Testing” would be something to think about
Man I'm french myself and trust me, we are very aware of police brutality issues, the people who wrote this seem just incompetent and not actually involved in any political issues surrounding police brutality and stuff like this.
I mean Sean is 16 and panicked but it was a bad idea to begin with sadly
they shoulda just made the cop racist and get rid of the blood stain
totally agree, especially with the first sentence! They just did NOT know!! Ugh, this plot was so stupid....
I just want to know where everyone on that street was as you expect people to run outside after hearing the destruction.
To be honest, yes. A car being flipped over in the street, a gunshot, and everything burning around you would ellicit a response from the neighbors. Does no else live on that street besides the Diaz family and the Fosters?
Me1648 ikr. Whoever called the cops in the first place must have been watching.

To be honest I wish the game didn't have this much unrealistic racism, I mean I live in the south.. with my whole family.. that are latina, and I've never seen so much racism shoved down someones throat like this before
Also the political thing, I feel like this game has very clear message saying basically that anyone with a higher power than you is bad evil assholes ( politicians, cops, your boss, rich people, that mall, preachers, adults if you're a kid, the government but that one is not a surprise, etc.), and people who don't have power are super good, open-minded, third eye waking, saviors. It all feels so forced and unrealistic
unrealistic?? you’re aware shit like this actually happens right? you may be latina but so are other people who have to go through shit like that, such as racist cops who kill innocent people for no reason or being told to “go back to your own country”

@stupid Cat its almost as if "reverse racism" doesn't exist. you cannot oppress the oppressor.
YES!!! The whole thing literally could have been avoided if they had just TALKED TO THE POLICE!

Honestly, I'd be more concerned about how the Seattle PD would handle one of their own officers shooting an unarmed man.

Aj is better. Even if Aj is kinda a bigger asshole
clearly you’re not a sibling, and terrible at empathy
I remember by episode 4 it became abundantly clear to me that Dontnod had run out of ideas. Say what you will about Telltale but they at least seem to have a vague idea of what each episode is going to focus on from the beginning and their writing and voice acting at the very least insures that there will be something interesting in every one.

The Last Of Us has the same concept of a roadtrip journey but does it so much better. Here, characters aren't interesting enough for me to care about and I didn't really miss any of them once we had to leave them behind.
the difference is that last of us wasnt episodic so you didnt know when the bad things happened (for example someone dies)

@@rickdixion9965 Well not everyone is going to and it's fine. Take it in stride, man.
Does it so much better? TLOU is the game of Gods. This is a shit stained toilet paper compared to it.
When their dad died Sean woke up finding everyone unconscious except him and his dad shot dead on the floor so I think he assumed the cops would blame him too so I see why he panicked and ran away, it was either fight or flight for him
For the racism, None of the episodes was as extreme as the “white people are bad” narrative that people sound it to be :
Episode 1 : guy at the gas station and Brody the nice guy
Episode 2 & 3 : None
Episode 4 : the Chad guy and his friend being actually reasonable and the truck guy being nice
Episode 5 : the two vigilantes VS the white cop actually asking her to shut up and being nice with Sean and agent Flores wanting to help.
I don’t think they exaggerated the racism, they were all situations that I have actually seen, either them pushing Sean or saying to go back to his country, etc.
I’ve seen them all really
I think your choices actually affected the endings depending on how you chose to bring up Daniel, him either accepting surrendering or refusing , etc.
His pal was alright, though he should've intervene more.
i mean like the game is not perfect but it deserves way better treatment than it already gets
@@rileyhymer8707 It's easier when the people written are actual humans instead of dumbass characters.
Honestly have to agree, there's panic and the chaos that follows it, and just being a complete fucking moron that trues to actively screw every situation they're in.

No, this was painfully funny. They are trying way too hard to push a message true or not.
This game didn't give me the feels Lis1 gave me. ._.

Yeah.
The end.
That would have been a cool scene and probably easy to make.

I know the next game they are working on has a trans lead. But it is not labeled LIS.

#27: Fleeing to Canada would have gotten them extradited back to the US if ever caught, making life significantly harder than in Mexico.
