Bad Cat is a great, little company. I remember them sending me pictures of my 5-watt Mini Cat II being built. Somehow it made the amp more "mine". I doubt I'll ever part with it. Awesome playing as always, Mr. Thorn! 🙂
Played this at the Namm booth......unreal! Through their 3 x 12 cab was just insane....one of the things I look for is how it feels under fingers......this amp has the thing! feels great to play.

Pete's videos are deceiving, because he could plug into a toaster and make it sound like the Holy Trinity signing lullabies to a sleeping baby. Dude is a living legend.

Great review Pete! Recently, I went down to Angel City Guitars and picked up a Bad Cat Cub. Totally dig it. I’m liking the Jet Black also! Great original tones and sustain from these newer iterations that Bad Cat has put out. Peter (not Thorn) is behind these crazy new tones. The Ampete guy….spoke with him at Angel City. Cool cat designing Bad Cat’s.
Got a chance to play though this -- I like it a lot -- still thinking about it. I have a Lynx 50 I bought new in '08 that to this day is still my favorite amp. The new Bad Cat line of amps are def cool sounding, but they have cut corners in overall build quality for sure. Not even close the the Sampson-era builds and ones that came shortly after. Playing the SuperUnknown riff -- so good, I love that tune.
Dang!! Awesome playing... Think i will try a different instrument now lol. How clean are the cleans compared to fenders and voxs? Someone told me that have similar voicings to a mesa not sure how true that is.

Sounds great, but that Trainwreck Liverpool you demonstrated awhile back just ruined me for rock-voiced EL84 amps….but at least this amp is attainable $$$
"it's not a thrash metal amp" nothing against super thick saturated tone but I can turn a hard rock amp into a chunky screaming metal amp with.góod power tubes and a heavy pedal but when i play my Peavy 5150 i can do heavy, ridiculously heavy or nothing. I will take my Super Lead or Bass Breaker or black star club 40 any day if i need to cover a wide range of tones including super distorted chunky tight power chord rhythms and screaming saturated leads with sustain.
I am stunned at the amount of PLASTIC located on the back panel of that amp! What is up with that? The panel itself and all the input hardware is PLASTIC! Cheap bullshit plastic. I think they make some cool sounding amps - but all that plastic has got to go. It’s cheap garbage.
