Apologies for the extra comment, but to not just moths, but all players, take my advice that will make your journey much more enjoyable: Sky isn’t a game with a goal after you finish eden. Sky is a game about emotion. And I know how cheesy that sounds, but hear me out. I had been going through a very rough time, but then I met someone on sky during my first playthrough. She ended up becoming one of my closest friends ever, and every time we played, I felt so happy I wanted to live in that world. Sky is a game about friends, freedom, relaxation, fun, but mostly just emotions in general. Take Golden Wasteland for example- think back to the first time you met a krill. You hear that screech and the spotlight turns red. You get so horrified, you try to run out of the way, but to no avail. You didn’t get mad because you got hit, you felt fear because Sky just does that . Another example- imagine yourself there, in Hidden Forest, your first visit. Tucked away under a tree, listening to the rain, afraid of it, but still curious of the forest’s beauty. That’s what pushes you to continue through it. a tranquil fear. And those are only two examples, I can name so many others. Sky has an incredible way to make you feel things- whether bliss, sadness, fear, curiosity, happiness, trust, or some other feeling you can’t quite name but can’t get enough of- it’s capable of making you smile or cry. It sounds dumb, I know, but really- whether it’s your first time, or you’ve done a million candle runs, view it in a different way, not as a game as much as a form of escapism. Sorry for the extremely cheesy and long comment- I even felt kind of embarrassed talking about this here lol. I just felt I needed to say this, I don’t know why exactly, but I really felt a strong urge to.
Hey you! Don't belittle what you just wrote! 🥰 It's not cheesy nor dumb at all! Thank you for sharing your experience and feelings here, and for also reminding me how the game was like for me when I first played it. I remember being hooked and booting up the game first thing in the morning because of all the newness and excitement for exploration (I have strong wanderlust!). Unfortunately, I hadn't met quite many friends that I could click with immensely (yet, idk), so Sky has been becoming less of something I used to enjoy and more of just a daily thing I do. Thank you for shining in your perspective- I hope the game can be more than just a daily chore for me again one day. 💖 Lots of hugs to you dear!
Aww, that's not cheesy! ^^ This is a great comment! Thanks for sharing, that sounds really beautiful, and I agree, Sky has a lot to do with emotions, for me as well!
Dude I feel the rain one so bad- back then I was so scared to go alone in the rain loosing my light's now I can solo cr there or come with a friend- as for the the golden waste it still taunts me
i have been playing for over a year and i didn even realise the size of flames get smaller as you collect more candles 😭?? this is honestly so detailed and interesting to learn about sky, you did amazing with this guide!
Im a good bit late to this comment, but yes! It wasnt like this originally, they added the chevron system to make candle runs significantly less grueling, as a lot of people were getting burnt out from spending a few hours every day to collect as many candles as possible. Now you can just run through a couple realms quickly and have a decent amount of candles in much shorter time!
I'm a new player and I just had a really emotional experience playing to the "ending" foe the first time. Most of this flew over my head as it's a lot of new info but I'll be referring back to this in the future! I ran into a player who stuck around long enough for me to unlock chat, and then they kindly guided me and explained as much as they could. We played together for almost 3 hours. I got really emotional at several moments holding hands and running, jumping and flying around. I was genuinely stressed and sad when one of us fell during the eden portion. When I died, I almost cried because I assumed I'd be disconnected from them and have to start over, not realizing dying was normal. We took eachother's hands when we ran into the light at the very end and I shed a few tears. It seems that this game has a great community of vets who are willing to guide us new players and allow us to have a multiplayer experience. It was definitely much more enjoyable doing it together! I'm so glad I found this game 💕
Thank you for sharing your experience, it gave me so much warmth reading it hehe 🥰 I'm very glad to see you appreciating the game! I hope you'll continue to enjoy it and make good new friends if you are the social type 🫶 welcome to Sky!!
I just started playing a day ago and I had no idea what I'm supposed to do. I'm so happy I found this video. I have bad anxiety and PTSD and I was told about this game and I'm trying to learn because it's so sweet and peaceful ❤️
Until I met a really sweet veteran yesterday- I was so frustrated because I couldn’t work out why; after finally completing one area..2 of my expressions/spirits on the home constellation map of the area had little red lights. When I clicked on them it said ‘find this spirit in the ___ ‘ except I had! I had to go to the spirit shrine of that level to properly unlock them. Also I just couldn’t work out how to trade hearts for the hair I wanted. Every time I tried..it would just flip my heart count back to normal. My veteran had unlocked chat & told me to press the heart 3 times (because it cost 3) and it *worked* You have no idea how frustrated I’d gotten with those two things..I’d asked so many people but they didn’t know what I what I was talking about! So thankful to the patient veteran 💜
this is really everything a moth needs to know, finally a guide that doesn’t spoil the entire storyline or just show the entire play through of the game! i’ve been playing over a year, but i wish i had this useful tutorial as a wee moff. the things that keep me playing these days are mainly music, moths, and friends :P
Aw thank you! I'm glad you noticed, I really did my best to ensure there wasn't much spoilage 😊 I hope your Sky journey continues to be fun and enjoyable! 🥳
Also, just wanted to point out, the "DLC" thing is free for all players, but the season pass is an in app purchase, meaning you will pay real life money for it. If you have the season pass, you will gain access to special seasonal items people without the pass don’t have, and you will gain 1 special neck accessory that corresponds to the season. The season pass is not required, but if you want extra things, it's available through tapping the shop icon in the top corner. (I don't know the control for it for Switch players, sorry^^) People you have friended can also gift you a season pass if they have bought one themselves! That is the only way to obtain a season pass for free. So, basically what I’m trying to say is, seasons are free for everyone, but you can purchase an optional season pass.
Thank you so much for your comment! It's necessary information, which I'm sorry I wasn't very clear about 😣💦 I wish I could pin more than one comment :/
You know I'm not even done with this yet and I've been playing for two years and you were doing a spot on Job girl thank you!! From every vet that loves moffs... we thank you!! I will throw this in my server!!!
I'm a new player 2 days ago and yesterday I experienced the "ending" for the first time. Someone kindly guided me before that ending, and kept on holding my hand every time I flew away due to strong winds and that rocks. It made me feel a little stressed because I think I'm slowing them down and I seriously felt so much admiration for how they stuck with me and kept coming back to light me when I turn gray. Everytime they turn gray I get so sad and come back for them too. It was really really an emotion experience since it was my first time. I also thought I won't be able to interact since I lost, "I'm sorry if you die! You can leave me already and continue your journey..." Is what I've been yelling while I can see them trying to go to me when I lost and became a light. There was this option whether to go alone or something, but I pressed the "x" since I couldn't leave them. But it popped again and I tried to click the "✓" mark since I don't know anything. And I really died, I even saw their nickname pop up while I walk to my "lighted body?" to hug. And I really felt so sad I kept saying their name "Onatos" outloud (the system gave it randomly.) i really felt so bad for slowing them down and making them go back to my unlit body (?) without realizing it was normal. That "ending" was normal, but still, it really stirred something inside me. I found Onatos to be a great guide and a good friend, but really still felt that sudden rush of dying. I'm so glad they guided me and became my friend to kept holding my hand. So while walking back to the village or that door after death, I received a notification from Onatos that lit my candle. I felt extremely in awe and emotional since I still have connections. I don't know their names yet, but I hope I'll also unlock features with them. (Edit: I apologize for the repetitive words and sentences. I just still feel a bit from that experience so I was letting it out. And also the names of such things that I couldn't specify, because I still don't know them.)
That was... so beautiful 😭 thank you for sharing it with me (and hopefully to anyone else who reads your story!). I'm also really happy you have them in your list! May your friendship with them be a lovely one! 🥰
@@peachpurrfait omggg you're still replyinggg. I saw you're not very active in uploading. I don't know the reason and I was curious but I don't wanna pry to privacy. I love your voice btw! It's pretty!
Awwww thank youu ☺️🙈 You are really too sweet 🙈 I haven't been uploading because I'd been stuck with a project (the new Eden guide 😭) all this while actually! Also had to deal with real life matters like health and relationships, but I'm in a much better spot now :D Hopefully I can finally finish the new guide with tgc no longer making any changes to it so I can finally do other things 🤣 Thank you so much for being here! 🫂✨
I scrolled a bit through commenta and didnt see anyone say it so here: If you want to idle farm wax at the social spaces, using an instrument that makes you sit down (such as the piano, fight kalimba or belonging guitar) means you wont be affected by the idle timer! Standing instruments like the harps or flutes will not work for this though. So if youre a new player who doesnt have a lot of time to play but can idle, you could get the piano from the cheerful spectator in valley for 10 hearts and use this trick :-) And thats also why you may often see people sitting at the social spaces with an instrument in their hands + Ive heard that clicking on the shop might work too? But i usually stick to the instrument trick so i cant say if that still works :-)
I just played sky for 2 weeks now, what keeps me playing sky is to reach 11 wings! I did my research, it'll take me 10 weeks at the very least to achieve that. Since you need 149 Ascended candles to unlock all wing buffs (regular spirit) and you can only get 15 Ascended candles per week (16 maybe, I'm not so sure).
I'm a moth, lol is my first time saying that. Your guide have been very useful! I've been watched it a couple times now, this game is a bit different, nobody explains nothing in the game, things just happend and you try to learn about them lol, so thank you for light up some things! And thank you for not making spoilers too :) new sub here!
Oops I'm a week late, but welcome to Sky! I'm glad to have helped! 😊 What you pointed out was also actually the reason why I decided to make this guide, so it's nice to see that my efforts are being paid off hehe. Thank you!
I am a moth who’s been really in to exploring all the different areas in sky and this video helped me learn of new areas I’d missed or hadn’t found yet, so thank you so much!
There has been more new updates since this video was released too, but since you are into exploring, I feel like it'll only be a matter of time before you discover everything by yourself hehe 😊 I hope you have lots of fun finding new things, and welcome to Sky! 🫶
I’ve never heard of the term instance before, me and my friends use the word server instead. So we’d usually call it server merge or server error if we somehow get separated when in the same server. It’s interesting to learn more sky/game lingo!!
Hi there! even as a veteran this was very entertaining and useful! Thank you! i learned lots of new things like the 'chevrons' since I just came back recently and was like: "seasons? events?? CANDLE SYSTEM??? WHAT IN THE WORLD IS A IKEMEn-" but this helped a lot! here are also some extra names for new players: Ikemen(?): people who have.. lets say very cool outfits and are usually very tall! (with the re-size spells, not hacks by the way-) Other names for light children: -Lights -Stars -Wings -Child/children Veteran: what it sounds like. A player that has played the game for a VERY long time and are usually there in the game's early days. they are often skilled in many aspects and remember the game's early development. some however, like me, are literally broke in every currency and lack accessories. (also did I mention some veterans have like every accessory in the entire game??) Honking: usually used on moths, when they 'spam call' (when you tap on your character it 'calls') or just normally call it's often called a 'honk'. hope this helped too! i also must comment this: I LOVE YOUR VOICE its very soothing!
Thank you for this great guide! I'm loving the game so far but it sometimes feels overwhelming with the amount of content there is to discover. This really helps to explain a lot of it 💜
for burning darkness trees, flicking the control on the left side of the screen on ipads and iphones is also a great way to hop while ensuring that you actually land on a leaf! the jump button sometimes will overshoot, but the flick makes sure you land on a surface if it's close by. you can do the same when flying and you end up just under where you wanted to land! additionally, if you don't think you can burn a branch, please don't keep trying to! come and stand where the other person is standing (if they already finished burning) and hold your ground! in most cases, the other person will understand and will help you burn the other side of the darkness tree!! i try to do this with moths a lot of the time but they never understand so i end up having to give up and return, hoping that maybe i will server merge with a veteran. if more moths knew this, i would be really happy! i'd really appreciate someone spreading the word! another thing about instance merging, a lot of my friends call this server merging!! it's a relatively common term for us and it's when you basically split into another server of the same area that has other players within it! it's because sky has a limited number of servers, so they try to make it easier on the game by merging you into a partially-occupied server so that you're not occupying a server all by yourself! additionally, when you're with your friends, it's much less likely for this to happen, even if it's just with one friend! i can't exactly explain this, but it's almost never happened to me. really, the only times that server merges happen when you're with friends are either when the server splits you into two separate servers or you get split into an empty server because you have bad internet XD
when i first saw krills, i had no idea what they were (i didnt even think it was a dark dragon) so i just called them "flying giant centipedes" i have no idea why i called them that back then, but probably because of its legs XD
honestly even tho im not new i still watched the video because your voice is so sweet and relaxing, and youy eden guide video saved my life as a moth XD
I just got this game last night on ps5. Made my first friend who had way more experience. Thanks for the small guide, i won't need most of it yet, but it may be handy in the future
As a veteran, here is a tip I can give to any new player one terms of players from newest to most experienced. Moth: As Momo already stated, the newest players are called moths because they have brown wings, fly around crazily and are attracted to light. Butterfly: Much like moths, players unironically labeled butterflys are players that have colorful capes (that are NOT seasonal ones or paid ones, but default capes) a cheap hair, (usually the Twin Braids from the Blushing Prospector in Hidden Forest), and a very cheap instrument like the harp from Daylight Prairie. Chibi: A player who uses the Chibi mask from the Hide n Seek Pioneer in Hidden Forest. They are usually moderately experienced but many veterans use this mask as well. They almost always have cute cosmetics like the Cherry Blossom Cape or Sun Hat as well as a graceful instrument like the piano from the Cheerful Spectator in Valley of Triumph or the seasonal guitar. Ikeman: A male player who signifies being regal or superior. They have the faceless mask and many expensive seasonal cosmetics, as well as usually having an elder hair. They are most commonly spotted with the knight pants and a red cape and use potions to become permanently taller. Ikejou: A female player who signifies being strong or elegant. They have the faceless or an animal mask and many expensive seasonal cosmetics, and almost always have the Forest elder hare or the Valley elder hair of the female twin. They are most commonly spotted with bulky pants or any pants that resemble a dress, however the new Knight pants from the Season of Nine-Colored Deer are becoming increasingly more and more popular throughout, and usually have a paid cape like the Sparrow or Moth cape. They also almost always use potions to become permanently taller. All Ikejou and Ikemen players are also veterans. Veteran: A very experienced player that usually has a seasonal animal mask, has maxed out emotes, hundreds (or more) candles, an elder hair, and have been playing for multiple years. Thank you so much for reading this and no matter how much you have, please enjoy Sky: Children of the Light, and don’t give up.
This is a valuable guide for me as Sky is on ps4 now, I've played it before on my tablet but on the lowest possible settings (and even then it was barely playable) and thought it was a amazing game. Enjoying it on ps4 but had only a basic idea of what to do due to my previous experience. Also, your voice is adorable lol and thanks for the guide
Started playing yesterday, first of all, thank you for this guide! I'll 100% watch it again! It was really helpful. Also, I played the game for around 7 hours, all that time to complete the main quest. I don't think I've ever had a better multi-player experience. I was in my first domain and this player (also a newer one) grabbed my hand and we went trhout that and another domain together! After that, on my way to Eden, me and this other player (who I now think was a veteran) went there, we took places guiding each other, walked together through Eden, died together and went together to the light after reviving. I got a bit confused on what to do after, but I've been watching guides for a few hours now! Sky is truly a wonderful game and I hope I'll be able to play for more time without getting full of it!
Happy to be of help! And welcome to Sky! :D I really hope you'll have a lot of wonderful memories through the game too! (and if it's what you'd want, I also hope you'll get to meet many lovely people!)
So, one question about seasons and events... Do they return each year, or are there exclusively new ones? I would love to see everything this game has to offer, however it seems I've discovered it a little late in it's lifetime.
Seasons never return (so far at least) and events (such as Spring, Halloween, Christmas, etc.), while recurring, they tend to be different each year. However, you still can do the seasonal quests from past seasons and access their maps at any given time! You can collect the first expression of each spirit, but you'll have to wait for them to return individually as travelling spirits to access their entire inventory. As for events, cosmetics wise, the game always re-releases the stuff from previous years-- both the ingame currency and IAP/real currency items. They also only started to really make their events more interesting starting from the later part of last year, so this year might prove to be more promising! I hope that helps!
I'm a moth, but i find so interesting explore the areas without knowing anything. I'm like a little girl exploring the world for the first time, and Sky gives me wonderful sensations. Sometimes I go in just to slide on the snow! Anyway, I'm very curious to see what happens as you progress through the game. I just have one question: to get to the last portal and therefore to Eden (I think) do I have to collect all the spirits and complete all the constellations? Sorry I'm 2 years late to the video hahaha
Sorry I'm 3 weeks late to reply aaaa! I hope you'd have found out by now that you don't have to complete anything to do Eden 😣💦 thank you for sharing your little story with me, it makes me think back of when I first started playing Sky too. Nostalgia 🥹
@@peachpurrfait yea..i did the Eden like 4 times now? I was just about to finish my cr, i bought my first outfit, hood and cape. (the headphones too, my poor candles) and just today I tried to change my height, with only 3 spells I'm very near to the maximum tall cause idk if I reached it, I checked at the like lamps in Westland and I think it's very near
There is a new social area now in Valley in the maze that is located inside the temple. And in Vault is also a new one on the fourth floor on a firelight field platform
aaa i was kind of waiting for your next video but didn't get the notification and didn't realise you posted twice I started playing sky half a year ago but it wont hurt to watch this anyways :0
Ive been playing sky for 3 months now but know more than a regular 3 month old player thanks to you, you were my first sky youtuber to do guides, so I thank you for you creations im a bit sad you graduated from sky guides, but thanks again Momo
Amazing and very helpful/detailed tips to know for beginners! And i gotta say with a voice as cute as yours, you must sound heavenly when you sing! And not just signing i really enjoy listening to you talk!
Hello! New player here, just started playing yesterday and so far I'm really enjoying it. I've been struggling on some parts of the game and this video helped a lot! Thanks a bunch! :)
I went to take a video of every available shiny boi there was at that point when making the video, but I think not all could fit into the frame 😆 it was super satisfying lining them up ✨💛✨
30:28 as a veteran of nearly 2 years at this point, I love to constantly do candle runs and try to complete every spirit tree I can! I also love participating in seasons (now that I have disposable income lol) to get the ultimate gifts! its also really fun to introduce irl frens to the game as well, showing/dragging around moths is so fun for me
Hi amazingly kind Peach helper. Do you know a way to get out of the Cave of Prophesies after you have come down the stairs? (Other than going home). Also, do you have any access to telling the update gods to make the expressions stack personable...as in each individual puts their favorites at the top of the stack? This is a 3 player household. We agree this would help A LOT. By the way, thank you for your help, A LOT.
Hello dear! Sorry for the late reply. I took a short video to show you how to exit the Cave of Prophecies out back to the Isle of Dawn: twitter.com/peachwing/status/1473634390072709125 I hope that was what you meant, if not, please let me know if I have misunderstood :) As for the update gods, I unfortunately have no direct access to them, but I wholly agree with you that having a favourites section would be SO convenient. I'm sure a lot of players think so too, so hopefully they will do us that favour and make that happen soon!
Hello ! I’m a new player on PC steam version, i played a few minutes on the switch because at the time it had just came out and I did NOT understand at all what this game was but was always interested by the fly feature. This video is amazing ! Thank you for teaching me the basics and explaining what the game is in a clear way + how to get candles etc … It really helped me understand why I should give it another try (also because I saw the aurora concert and was blown away !) The game is a « feel » game and I get it now ! I hope I’ll won’t be too shy tho … I’m kinda scared of interacting with people on games but Sky seems like a really friendly place like GW2 was to me ! I even was in a Griffin flying guild :3 Again thank you and I hope I’ll meet many new friends and adventures along the way ❤️
Thank you so much for commenting! I felt really happy reading what you wrote 😊😄✨ honestly I'd been worried if the guide was getting outdated but I'm glad it still explained the basics in the meantime, thank you for helping me reaffirm that! Sky has an interesting way of making friends so far (according to my own experiences and stories shared by others & friends who played it) so I'm hoping you also get to find your own share of fun and heartwarming experiences. Crossing my fingers that you meet people as lovely as you! 🤞💕
I've been playing since the Season of Prophecy, and I found this video incredibly informative. Still hidden things that I had no clue about. So thank you for this! 😁 I missed a couple of seasons, but have returned upon seeing the teaser for the Season of Aurora. Last time I played was when they added diving underwater capabilities. On a side note: I agree with the few comments about how the game draws you in with emotion. My ultimate favorite scene so far being the heartfelt hug. (Apologies if that's considered a spoiler) Thank you again for this, as it has reminded me of why I got hooked on the game in the first place! 🤗
Every time I have been standing in one spot spinning in circles trying to figure out where to go next, a character with more drip than me has like appeared behind me to hold out their hand. As a new player that is easily confused and has a terrible memory, this is like the best possible mechanic for a game to have. 😅
An incredibly full guide for new player, this is an amazing work. As veteran im very happy to watch this video and not found anything to add or correct
I just wanted to thank you for telling me what CR and ER meant. Im a new player, I joined not too long ago, and a veteran friend told me they were down to do CR/ER if I wanted to do them. I had no idea what that meant however and i said: Alright! I will tell you if i ever want to. And now that I know what CR/ER means they hopefully will never know I had no idea what they were talking about.
you're so evil for making this video sooo adorably cute >.< your voice is really calming and all the interesting fact i've learned as a moth makes me feel happy :D ty ty ty soo much for this wonderful video miss Peach :P BTW my favorite fruit is a peach :P
Omg i learned so much from this video ty. You answered alot of my questions i had for my friend that got me back into playing sky again now i dont need to ask her.
hey! sorry this is so late! i really loved this video, it is a great guide and following it felt easier than most other tutorials! i hope this helps everyone else! also i forgor to mention, that i see you play genshin impact possibly lol, same.
Ehehehehe 😎 time to get Zhongli 🌠🌠🌠 but hey, nice to see you again ❤️ thanks for always being so supportive! Sorry I haven't been as active otherwise 😣
Ah so that's what happened. I tried to burn the darkness tree yesterday after finishing my mission and failed. Then it suddenly popped. Not only that tree, the other smaller dark plants are gone too. I thought it's just a delayed side effects of finishing my mission. So instances are basically parallel universe?
Thank you so much for having this guide. I'm a new player as it recently released on PS5, Its a great game to play. In comparison to it's predecessor, this game has adopted a great deal of improvements that's wildly acceptable. I do have a few follow-up questions, what is the preferred/more active social media platform that the developers communicate season changes, etc.? Is there a discord for this game?
Even though i made it to eden and explored a lot, it seems ive missed so many secret areas. I love this game, and ive been gaming since super Nintendo.
I just came to check what you've been up to and see you're still making fantastic videos! Love your content so much! The amount of effort that goes into each video really shows. Sky is such a big game, it must have been a lot of work and considerate planning to explain the entire game in one single video of 30 minutes. But it turned out excellent! Well done. I'm definitely showing this video to my moth friend. 🥰 Thank you so much for making these, Momo! Take care and hope to hear from you again sometime.
I finally got the game when it came out on PlayStation consoles and i got blessed with the Aurora event i am happy but I’ll be a casual, I appreciate your guide though so thank you
I just started a few days ago and spent the first day getting halfway through the eye of eden before going back. It was fun at first for the hours I invested but the replay value has dropped due to the unpredictable and glitchy iphone controls. Im no noob to gaming but when I play Sky I feel like a noob due to the controls and after 3 days of playing I found myself quitting during candle quests due to the crazy way the controls handle. What should have been a quick candle grab turned into a crazy back and fourth of miss miss miss miss miss, stop, grab. Maybe my iPhone XS is out of date? Maybe I'm too old and slow? But on other games where the damn left control button is always in the same place I feel like a pro. I hit the flight button on the right and nothing, hit hit hit HIT now it goes, too late, fallen down too far, lost all flight. Its a game I REALLY want to like and love but the controls are so frustrating that grinding for candles is a task that would irritate me as I am used to precise controls that let me turn on a dime rather than 5 seconds later. Every day I play my time played and rating drops just because of the glitchy controls. Might be better on other platforms like Switch but for iPhone theres less frustrating games to play. And this game on iPhone is frustrating because the controls. Everything else I love and WANT to love the game... But the damn controls! UGH UGH UGH! 4 days in and I'm ready to delete but want to play hoping for better...
Hello! I'm really sorry to hear your experience has been frustrating 😢 I'm not exactly sure if the game is lagging to you, or is having a bad frame rate that is causing you to miss. If the graphics and movement are smooth and you're somehow just missing the controls though, please check if you're playing on 2-handed mode (if you aren't already, apologies since I can only assume 😣). Sky is actually easier to control on mobile devices (phones or ipad) compared to Switch, but can be horrible if the phone can't handle the intensity of the game's graphics and just overheats or lags a ton instead. If flying controls are an issue, I have a guide on how to fly better too, but it doesn't seem like that's what you're struggling with, so I'm not sure how to help. So sorry :(
@@peachpurrfait im going to have to agree with everything EXCEPT the switch comment. I actually play more Sky since I got the switch, as a regular/no life gamer, touchscreens are very tricky and disgusting to me (hands sweaty in Eden or wasteland 🤣) but on switch ? I had no time learning how to fly even better than on tablet, I have better control of my skykid and ofc the graphics are better than android tablet AND it's cheaper than a apple 🍏🍎😜 Also my partner got hooked on sky too on his switch 😁 Really wish Sky was on Pc tho 🤔
@@Bebe_Dee Oops, you right, Switch is probably easier for a lot of other users who don't fancy the touchscreen too 🤔 Thanks for your input! That was a bit self-opinionated on my side 😖

@@mayowey4558 um ok just avoid them
Apologies for the extra comment, but to not just moths, but all players, take my advice that will make your journey much more enjoyable:
Sky isn’t a game with a goal after you finish eden.
@@peachpurrfait Thank you! I hope you find some friends like that^^
Aww, that's not cheesy! ^^ This is a great comment! Thanks for sharing, that sounds really beautiful, and I agree, Sky has a lot to do with emotions, for me as well!
Dude I feel the rain one so bad- back then I was so scared to go alone in the rain loosing my light's now I can solo cr there or come with a friend- as for the the golden waste it still taunts me
This is so amazing and true. Sky is just like that. I suddenly got teary lol
i have been playing for over a year and i didn even realise the size of flames get smaller as you collect more candles 😭?? this is honestly so detailed and interesting to learn about sky, you did amazing with this guide!
Thank you so much! Yay another approval stamp from a veteran! 😁
No one help in sky...it's shameful for sky 😢 game..
Aww that's awfull I would of helped you
Lol it used to just be one size
Fun fact: while the hidden candles in daylight prairie form a smiley, the candles in cave of prophecy make a heart! 🥺💖
Yes! Super adorbs ✨❤️✨
My veteran had unlocked chat & told me to press the heart 3 times (because it cost 3) and it *worked*
You have no idea how frustrated I’d gotten with those two things..I’d asked so many people but they didn’t know what I what I was talking about!
So thankful to the patient veteran 💜
I remember how your first guide helped me so much as a beginner! This is a good guide for upcoming players.
Yay! :D Thanks!
I just started and a random vet grabbed my hand and got me alot of wings to start my adventure. Pretty awesome.
me too! I'm still friends with them and it's honestly what made me fall in love with the game!
this is really everything a moth needs to know, finally a guide that doesn’t spoil the entire storyline or just show the entire play through of the game! i’ve been playing over a year, but i wish i had this useful tutorial as a wee moff.
the things that keep me playing these days are mainly music, moths, and friends :P
Aw thank you! I'm glad you noticed, I really did my best to ensure there wasn't much spoilage 😊 I hope your Sky journey continues to be fun and enjoyable! 🥳
@@peachpurrfait ❤️❤️
hi, i was looking through the comments and some people are saying terms like moths and players, so what’s the difference?
@@suguruapologist moths are new players, players are… well just players
For switch, it's available through the menu (+ button)
You know I'm not even done with this yet and I've been playing for two years and you were doing a spot on Job girl thank you!! From every vet that loves moffs... we thank you!! I will throw this in my server!!!
Yaay!! Thank you so much! ☺️ I'm really glad this video has been acknowledged by a fellow vet! 🥳
And I really felt so sad I kept saying their name "Onatos" outloud (the system gave it randomly.)
i really felt so bad for slowing them down and making them go back to my unlit body (?) without realizing it was normal.

I haven't been uploading because I'd been stuck with a project (the new Eden guide 😭) all this while actually! I scrolled a bit through commenta and didnt see anyone say it so here:
If you want to idle farm wax at the social spaces, using an instrument that makes you sit down (such as the piano, fight kalimba or belonging guitar) means you wont be affected by the idle timer!
Standing instruments like the harps or flutes will not work for this though. So if youre a new player who doesnt have a lot of time to play but can idle, you could get the piano from the cheerful spectator in valley for 10 hearts and use this trick :-)
And thats also why you may often see people sitting at the social spaces with an instrument in their hands
+ Ive heard that clicking on the shop might work too? But i usually stick to the instrument trick so i cant say if that still works :-)
Oh that's a really good tip I never knew about! I shall try it out myself hehe, thank you!
I never saw this guide as a moth, but I have to say that this is really informative and helpful!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you think so! 😄
What keeps me playing?
The beautiful graphics.. the calming music. All good for a nice day
I’ve never heard of the term instance before, me and my friends use the word server instead.
WHAT IN THE WORLD IS A IKEMEn-" but this helped a lot! here are also some extra names for new players:
Ikemen(?): people who have.. lets say very cool outfits and are usually very tall! (with the re-size spells, not hacks by the way-)
Other names for light children:
-Lights
-Stars
-Wings
-Child/children
Veteran: what it sounds like. A player that has played the game for a VERY long time and are usually there in the game's early days. they are often skilled in many aspects and remember the game's early development. some however, like me, are literally broke in every currency and lack accessories. (also did I mention some veterans have like every accessory in the entire game??)
Honking: usually used on moths, when they 'spam call' (when you tap on your character it 'calls') or just normally call it's often called a 'honk'.
hope this helped too!
i also must comment this: I LOVE YOUR VOICE its very soothing!
Heehee honking is such a cute term tho 🤭 and welcome back! :D Glad to have your Veteran Stamp of Approval! 💛 Thank you so much! 🥰
Thank you for this great guide! I'm loving the game so far but it sometimes feels overwhelming with the amount of content there is to discover. This really helps to explain a lot of it 💜
new seasons and making myself look dang neat are what keep me playing, I also recently got more into playing the musical instruments too!
Also also recently sky add jamming together with spirit to play music
I've been to one of the islands in Sky: The Children Of Light and it was peaceful and relaxing !!
for burning darkness trees, flicking the control on the left side of the screen on ipads and iphones is also a great way to hop while ensuring that you actually land on a leaf! the jump button sometimes will overshoot, but the flick makes sure you land on a surface if it's close by. you can do the same when flying and you end up just under where you wanted to land!
additionally, if you don't think you can burn a branch, please don't keep trying to! come and stand where the other person is standing (if they already finished burning) and hold your ground! in most cases, the other person will understand and will help you burn the other side of the darkness tree!! i try to do this with moths a lot of the time but they never understand so i end up having to give up and return, hoping that maybe i will server merge with a veteran. if more moths knew this, i would be really happy! i'd really appreciate someone spreading the word!
another thing about instance merging, a lot of my friends call this server merging!! it's a relatively common term for us and it's when you basically split into another server of the same area that has other players within it! it's because sky has a limited number of servers, so they try to make it easier on the game by merging you into a partially-occupied server so that you're not occupying a server all by yourself!
additionally, when you're with your friends, it's much less likely for this to happen, even if it's just with one friend! i can't exactly explain this, but it's almost never happened to me. really, the only times that server merges happen when you're with friends are either when the server splits you into two separate servers or you get split into an empty server because you have bad internet XD
when i first saw krills, i had no idea what they were (i didnt even think it was a dark dragon) so i just called them "flying giant centipedes"
i have no idea why i called them that back then, but probably because of its legs XD
Me too!
honestly even tho im not new i still watched the video because your voice is so sweet and relaxing, and youy eden guide video saved my life as a moth XD
Aww thank you 😊 Good job with Eden back then too! :D
I’m a moth and this helped me understand more things about the game, I appreciate it!!
You're welcomed! I'm really glad you are able to experience the game properly and fully now! 😊
This explanation was so clear and easy to understand! Thank you so much ❤
You're very much welcomed!! ❤️
WLR (Winged light run) is going around collecting all of the wings :)
I’ve also heard people call winged light (the glowing kids) shiny bois 😂
They should use your videos for the official game! It took me so long to figure out a lot of the mechanisms here
Aw thanks! There might be future updates that might make some content in my videos outdated eventually, but I'm still happy to help for now.
I hope that helps!
omg the production quality on this video is insaaaaaannnneeeee!!!
I can be consider new player, but the tips for other, dont forget to turn on your shrine, is very helpfull
I started sky like two weeks ago and honestly i really enjoy the comfort of routine it provides! im so glad my friends introduced me to this game !
And in Vault is also a new one on the fourth floor on a firelight field platform
aaa i was kind of waiting for your next video but didn't get the notification and didn't realise you posted twice

I took a short video to show you how to exit the Cave of Prophecies out back to the Isle of Dawn: twitter.com/peachwing/status/1473634390072709125
I hope that was what you meant, if not, please let me know if I have misunderstood :)
As for the update gods, I unfortunately have no direct access to them, but I wholly agree with you that having a favourites section would be SO convenient.
Thank you for teaching me the basics and explaining what the game is in a clear way + how to get candles etc …
It really helped me understand why I should give it another try (also because I saw the aurora concert and was blown away !)
The game is a « feel » game and I get it now !
I hope I’ll won’t be too shy tho … I’m kinda scared of interacting with people on games but Sky seems like a really friendly place like GW2 was to me ! I even was in a Griffin flying guild :3
Again thank you and I hope I’ll meet many new friends and adventures along the way ❤️
Thank you so much for commenting!
I love these well edited videos
I just started, thanks for the tips!
Welcome! The video is no longer up to date, but should still provide enough information to start with. I hope you enjoy Sky! 😊
Aw you're welcomed! Thanks for your comment too, it got me thinking 🥲

Every time I have been standing in one spot spinning in circles trying to figure out where to go next, a character with more drip than me has like appeared behind me to hold out their hand. As a new player that is easily confused and has a terrible memory, this is like the best possible mechanic for a game to have. 😅
As a new player - this vid was just awesome and very useful! I subbed!❤
An incredibly full guide for new player, this is an amazing work. As veteran im very happy to watch this video and not found anything to add or correct
Thank you so much!! I'm really glad you think so! 😄🎉
I will watch your other video and guide with pleasure
I wish I'd see this when i started playing the game
You did such a good job of explaining everything. Everything is very easy to understand.
Aww thank you! I'm happy to hear that ☺️
I just wanted to thank you for telling me what CR and ER meant.
🤣 Happy to help! Secret's safe with me pahaha!
It’s been years now since I play, and here I am learning new things. Let’s say I’m a veteran moth 😂😂
you're so evil for making this video sooo adorably cute >.<

You're very much welcomed! I hope you enjoy the game 😊

That's a good way to put it, parallel universe! 🤭 But basically, yes! Thanks for coming by, it was fun reading all your comments! ☺️
Thank you, this was really helpful 😃
This help me so much as a moth! Thank you soooooo much

me, a veteran, watching this because your voice is so soothing
Didnt realise i still play this game long enough
Perfect video❣️
Thank you so much for having this guide. I'm a new player as it recently released on PS5, Its a great game to play. In comparison to it's predecessor, this game has adopted a great deal of improvements that's wildly acceptable. I do have a few follow-up questions, what is the preferred/more active social media platform that the developers communicate season changes, etc.? Is there a discord for this game?
Yes! Discord is widely used, please do join the official server as a lot of daily guides and details/discussions are mostly there!
Even though i made it to eden and explored a lot, it seems ive missed so many secret areas. I love this game, and ive been gaming since super Nintendo.
ah, the old days before Thoma was out. Thoma sweet guyyyyy
You really helped me with sky 😭😭😭😭 im happy❤️❤️
I'm happy to help too!! ❤️❤️❤️
@@peachpurrfait TYY PEACH❤️❤️
Tysm for this video! 😊
Great video :D
they're back! :)
Thank you! Hope you are healthy and well! 😁👍
What keeps me playing sky is the slides, because they are sooooo fun
“Seasons usually bring up quest lines, spirits, etc..“
Season of Shattering: *Im about to end this whole man’s career*
“There are none behind the wind walls” There is one at wind path 🎉
I get overwhelmed by how many people walk up to me with candles
I finally got the game when it came out on PlayStation consoles and i got blessed with the Aurora event i am happy but I’ll be a casual, I appreciate your guide though so thank you
You're welcomed! I'm glad you got to experience this season too, it's new and amazing 🥰
i love sky children of light
last time i played it when i was little
I just started a few days ago and spent the first day getting halfway through the eye of eden before going back.
I had no time learning how to fly even better than on tablet, I have better control of my skykid and ofc the graphics are better than android tablet AND it's cheaper than a apple 🍏🍎😜
Also my partner got hooked on sky too on his switch 😁
Really wish Sky was on Pc tho 🤔
@@Bebe_Dee Oops, you right, Switch is probably easier for a lot of other users who don't fancy the touchscreen too 🤔 Thanks for your input! That was a bit self-opinionated on my side 😖
Small note: the swich pack can allso be gifted to you by another player!! I play on android and my close friend who plays on swich got me the pack! ❤️
thank you for your help❤️❤️❤️
Wow thanks this was a great vid
Thank you! Happy you think so 😄
