    It’s really great to see this type of content, because womens workwear is a terribly underserved segment. Please keep up the good work!

    I’m a guy and I even need to say it is awesome that you’re doing this. I work for the railway and I’ve heard women complain about lack of knowledge for the WOMENS side of work clothes.. They will be glad when I show them your channel :)
    Also the fact you’re comparing it with Canadian weather.. awesome 🇨🇦

    everything you said about the patagonia overalls is true! i got them as a gift and didnt wear them for over a year when i finally decided to cut off the metal buttons and sew my own buttons onto the straps so i could adjust them to sit higher. they're okay now but i prefer my Duluths. definitely will be trying out the Carhartts this year!

    I appreciate this so much as a woman and a welder. I'm super short and like size 18-20 and finding good work wear is a struggle.

    Yes!!! Thank you for doing this. As a lady in the industry, it’s SO difficult to find any details on our workwear without just buying and praying! Could you consider doing a work boot as well? Like slip resistant and not men’s lol.

    • @technicallyatech
      @technicallyatech  2 года назад +5

      Thanks for watching, I’m glad you liked it! Yes I definitely want to do boots. I’ve tried out a few but to be honest, there aren’t many options in women’s sizing especially when it comes to more specialized boots (rubber for example) I’m going to look into this some more though!

    • @elizabethmagno5195
      @elizabethmagno5195 2 года назад +2

      Agreed! I’ve become a little obsessed with researching women’s functional workwear lol. I found a few brands I’ve kept in my closet if you’d like me to share for you to review let me know :) The only other channel I’ve found and loved as much as yours is Adventure Rigs, check them out if you haven’t already!

      @@elizabethmagno5195 Adventure Rigs is great!! They've got so many great reviews. I would definitely love to hear what you've found & liked, it's so good to get this info out there to help others find good gear!

    I found this on a Reddit post, thanks for the reviews. I’ve only owned carhartts cause they do fit, I used to only wear the pants but definitely going to switch to overalls. The pants are frustrating cause I have to wear a belt with the smallest size, the slims fit but I have a bigger butt/thighs and small waist which they just aren’t designed for. On the hunt for better options. Thank you for this video!!

    • @technicallyatech
      @technicallyatech  2 года назад

      Thanks so much for stopping by! it's tough to get good pants and this is exactly why I really like overalls. They don't have to fit PERFECTLY but they'll still be very comfortable, where with pants you really need that perfect fit. Also so many more pockets than pants, usually, and they're good for several seasons with proper layering. Let me know if you end up getting these & if you like them!

    This video is great. I have noticed women's gear rarely seems to be as capable or tough as men's. I just ordered Duluth fire hose insulated overalls. Got a men's & women's pair, just in case one doesn't fit so well.
    My FIL does have the superior fire hose insulated overalls, and he beats them to death in the Michigan wilds. Zip to hip can be tough to find, Duluth seemed easiest to find for this option. Anyhow, awesome video!

    Oooh, that's a Carhartt option I hadn't seen yet. Want! A couple more recommendations for you: Liberty makes a nice budget option that I was able to find in Canada off Amazon with a good zippered pocket and another cheaper option is Tough Duck. I absolutely love the pocket size on the Tough Ducks. Even the handpockets are massive. I can fit phone, keys, tablet, snacks, a small cat....and still have space for my hands! They do run really big though.

    Awesome video! I bought two pairs of Duluth pants before and the sizing was WAY off. And then I had to pay to return them. I wish I could try them out again but not worth the risk.

    • @technicallyatech
      @technicallyatech  2 года назад +1

      It’s so tough buying from them in Canada 😫 I actually spoke to them about the return process (they have free returns if you’re exchanging) and they actually refunded my shipping. Anyway, I unfortunately agree that it’s too much of a risk (and an expensive one at that) to be ordering from them which is too bad because their stuff is good :(

    You nailed those Patagonia overalls on the nose. I'm a blacksmith a hammer loop and adjustability were disappointing. I took me a long time to break them in and get them comfortable. I sized up and ordered a large hoping to be able to layer them up. But my layers initially didn't fit. They're ok but not that great for real work

      I got these at Work N Wear in Markham! The owner, Adil, is amazing and very helpful. They have a few locations in the GTA. If you're not in Toronto, I would recommend just going into your local workwear store and seeing if they can help you order in some sizes!

    COVERALLS!!!!!! Quilted Coveralls. I need recommendations,
    I am a dock worker at a trucking company. First female manager at this location, no one can give me recommendations for anything other than brands that don’t carry women’s options. Which if I have to get and get it tailored so be it. But any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

      I'm on it!!! Does it need to be FR? Check out MWG Apparel. I haven't worn their gear yet but I'm looking into getting some. Also Covergalls, haven't tried them either yet though. I also believe that ToughDuck is coming out with insulated coveralls for women but idk if they're available yet. Carhartt does have insulated coveralls as well that I've heard great things about! Let me know what you end up trying out!

    Are the clothes carpenter cuts or farmer. Also, how thick is the fabric. I mentioned this because I use wrangler cargo jeans for work. The fabric is a little thicker than most these days compared old days. My pants usually last one year and few months. I add patches to make the pant wearable a little more longer.

    40 Grit is the budget line from Duluth. It's a little more fashion oriented and not supposed to be very durable. With that being said, their women's workwear options are pretty sparse and only fit one body shape. I do have a pair of their regular overalls and love them!

      hi! Unfortunately they are not waterproof :( would pants work instead of bibs? Truwerk has really great waterproof pants (T2 pants) and I have a discount code for them "TECH15" ! Otherwise, I would check out Helly Hansen, they have really great waterproof bibs!m Let me know what you end up getting & if you like them :)
