First go-around with my new equipment! This kicks off my return to a fundraising effort where friends have donated their dough in exchange for song requests. With the money raised by requests I was able to get a camcorder and a decent microphone for the job - next step will be Adobe Premier to make it all snazzy.
Next video should have sharper audio after more advanced editing, this one was more or less an experiment.

Your version and playing takes me back to Washington Sq. Park, in Greenwich Village, NYC where we learned from each other and had a great time doing so on the Sunday afternoons so far away. Just purchased a tenor banjo and this is going to be the first song I want to learn on it. Thanks for posting this.

I find the playback speed feature so helpful here on RUclips. I listen first at normal speed, then at 75% and even slower in the hard parts!

Mouth dropping...
So here's the deal. I am far from musically inclined but have been looking for an instrument simple enough for me to play, I have a uke and I'm getting along but want to try something new and stumbled on the banjolele. Go to RUclips and here's Eric playing one of my all-time favorites. Yep, I'm going for the banjolele and will spend as much time as possible learning to play Whiskey In the Jar even if only with 10% of Eric's skill.

I would love a tutorial on the strum you are using there. It sounds great but I can't see what you are doing.
i guess thats a boom-ditty. Basicly a DDU but in the first D you play only the top string.
I think he's using a clawhammer strum pattern. I use this on 5 string banjo but haven't had a lot of luck on the ukulele.
