@@AverageJoesPool I own a McDermott cue but it's my first cue ever (since 2016). However, the shaft (G-Core) has warped and so I'm considering buying a new one. Question for me is, should I get another G-Core, another of the McDermott ones or go with a completely different brand and model. I've noticed I like the feel of regular pool hall maple cues when I tried recently so I'm not sure if low deflection is necessary, hence the request. Thanks
@@jagvillhaenegenmane Well, firstly the G-Core cue comes with a lifetime warranty including warranty against warpage from McDermott. So if the warpage was not your fault (i.e. misuse) and rather a fault of the cue then you should definitely get in contact direct with McDermott via their website as it should be under warranty. Hope that helps! 🙂

Great video and review but who always needs to put the butt of a cue on the floor when chalking? I don't and if you watch videos of pros and amateurs alike, most just grip the cue a little bit closer to the center joint and apply chalk, usually while moving towards the next shot.
Absolutely, it does depend on how you prefer to chalk your cue. That factor would not be as important (or relevant) for players, such as yourself, who apply the chalk whilst holding the cue horizontally. --- To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there are a few things you can do: 1) Donations both needed and welcome! Yes, I can imagine shipping is not cheap. We have a similar problem here in Canada, but will definitely be much more expensive to Thailand. However. looking on McDermott's website they have an official dealer in Thailand: www.thailandpooltables.com/ so maybe you can source one through them and not have the shipping issue? FYI, the stinger cue line patent was actually purchased by mcdermott a few years back to rebrand it as their own. The original "Stnger" was invented by a Jerry Powers of Jerico Custom Cues. As a previous owner of the original stnger break cue, I can say that I have yet to find a break/jump cue that hits as hard as the original stnger. Mcdermott rebranding this cue as their own will never be as good as the original.
The difference is in the butt/handle. Did a blind test with Jerry and McDermott stinger shaft's. We put them on the same butt and handle... Honest to God, couldnt tell the deference. I've had Jerry's a while and McDermott was newer. So that speaks to longevity of his product. Can't speak on McDermott's. I'd rather get it from the guy who designed it. However, I don't think McDermott's version is significantly different.
