Thank you for being so responsible about handling it. I wish everyone showed that level of concern when coming into contact with a critically endangered species. That said; I hope you had the sense to stop and buy a lottery ticket on the way home, because your odds of winning that probably aren't much worse than the odds of hooking into that fish.
so you didn't see the part where if they had gotten too close it could cut their leg off in a fraction of a second...? Yeah no I'm glad, that thing is so much more dangerous than a bull shark or a tiger shark, it's in shallow water there, it can get up that close to land... They are just swimming by not even looking at you, they see a fish, they do their swish swash cutteroo to get it, and your leg is gone. Stupid sawfish.
@@alanmalcheski8882 Alan, do you think that saw part of the fish is like a light saber from Star Wars? It isn't going to "cut their leg off in a fraction of a second" for crying out loud. It could do some serious damage, but nothing that couldn't be treated at the hospital. They are only really a concern when captured like this as they feel threatened. You should be far and away more concerned about tiger and bull sharks. Are you kidding me? A simple test bite from both of those species of shark has killed many people. How many people have died to a sawfish? None that we know of.
one that big could totally slice your leg off. Watch how they cut up their feeder fish, they thrash super fast, the fish gets shredded. that's an endangered species, sharks are much more common.

I wish all anglers were as respectful as you. That tail slap was unbelievable the power that fish still has after that fight. What is the one fish you'd love to catch?

It's easy to tell that no matter what is going on, viewership is at the forefront of this guys subconscious mind. Cool for us, kinda sucks for the fish.
I seen this on someone else's channel first.... your enthusiasm makes its better... I've been fishing once about a mother ago for the first time... I caught a rainbow trout that weighed about a pound lol... now I want to catch something like you just did I feel I'm ready lol
Trust me you aren't. I struggled with a 45 pound fish for the first time last month. I thought I'd be prepared too since I've caught 10-20 pound fish. Big fish fight hard.

Great job! I accidentally netted one at Cape Coral yacht club. My wife had her feet in the water by shore, and she yelled for me saying a shark was after her, so I threw my cast a net by her and snagged a little pup. It was the coolest catch I have ever had!
