hi rory, thank you for reacting to this gem! as far as i know it was a europe-only bonus-track - the original us-version was lacking that song. and first of all, to be honest, i was rather annoyed by that song, coming out of that stretch of big songs at the end of superunknown. but i couldn't get it out of my head - that chorus is so super-catchy, it's always pursuing for days after hearing it again. and i think it's brutally heavy in its own way - maybe because of its structure and that dynamic and fruity guitar- and vocal-attack. far heavier than some songs that are 'designed' to be heavy. and matt cameron is doing a esp great job on that one. i looked it up - currently it is on #21 on my list of all soundgarden-songs that i rank from time to time - just for the fun of it ,)

Yup. Super Beatle-y 🙂 Not many bands have the courage or chops to attempt a Soundgarden cover -- btwn Chris' untouchable vocals, all the crazy tunings, the unconventional time signatures, rhythm & tempo changes, Kim's oddball guitar style... it's too overwhelming 😄
(...And yep, they threw some 7s around in here 😄)
P.S. - was just going to chk in about more SG, Audioslave & Temple! Still plenty left on my list! 😄😄😄
But if you want to do an album... I'd say go for *Superunknown* 🔥😎👍

Nice! Never heard this bonus track. Yah, super Beatlesque for sure. The thing with SG time signatures as compared to Rush is that Geddy and Neil were trained musicians having taken years of lessons, whereas SG experimented with different signatures because they sounded cool and kept the song fresh. Cornell really had a natural ear and ability for complex rhythms and was actually a big Rush fan and I think he did a cover of a 2112 track
