This actually was a benefit concert for my dad, David Curtis! It’s awesome to see some actual footage of soundgarden playing it! Thank you for uploading!
This is the kind of shit I want. High quality steady camera footage that lets us appreciate what it was like to actually be there, as opposed to the overproduced style on Motorvision.
My favorite story is when Duff brought GNR to Seattle on their first ‘tour’, and they went to see Soudgarden who were already big there. After the show they asked Soundgarden guys to use their equipment and play few songs, and they were like - hmmm, no.
Ben is one of the Coolest Bassists I've seen. He loves what he does.. there's a few live shots of him dancing.. making the crowd and the rest of the band smile & laugh.. ❤ Fun to watch .. 😊
This band was a FORCE, especially around this time. Badmotorfinger was my favorite record - a change from the really raw earlier stuff and and a segue to the more popular albums they put out in the mid-90s.
Did they have any radio hits on badmotorfinger? I know Rusty Cage and Jesus Christ Pose were popular but from what I’ve heard they didn’t get big until Black Hole Sun so I’ve always been curious if they were on the radio before then
@@BeerCanDan93 I think Outshined was the one that got the most play (or at least I remember hearing the song on the radio and also seeing the video on MTV at the time). They def became much more well-known after the next album that came out in '94.

My band used to rehearse at NAF 3 nights a week. Mark Naficy is one of the coolest, kindest guys I knew. I went on the roof one time and some of the heads from the Alice in Chains video for "What The Hell Have I" are up there and the other two fell off the roof and were tangled in the vegetation just rotting. This would have been around 1997-2000. The only thing that sucked is some nights after we played a show in town we would have to load our gear back into our room at NAF & the parking lot would be jam packed because a rave was going on. So we'd have to get all of our gear out of our cars/trucks and then try and part our way through a sea of rave kids saying "excuse me, excuse me, excuse me" about a 100x just to make it to our band room. Great memories at NAF!
This is on the rooftop of NAF, a rehearsal studio/warehouse in West Seattle. Mark Nafacy can be seen side stage at 5:15. Was a cool show, my band BoneTowne had a room there also. SG also shot the video for Hands All Over there, and threw other party's/gigs. I also knew Layne and Jerry, and hung/got high with them there on a couple occasions. Was sad to see where Layne was headed.....That was the Seattle scene folks! Seems like a lifetime ago...
There are Rock Stars and Rock Gods, Chris, was a modern-day prophet...like Jack Black said, "when he sings, he opens a new portal, a tone you can't even measure"
Me too 😂the amp was set on fire I’m thinking 🤔. I feel like it was a fundraiser for a gent in the band Dandelion Soup. He may have been in a terrible car accident but my 90’s hazed brain could be mixing it up with another show at NAF but I feel like it was this show 🙃
It still amazes me every time I see an old live Soundgarden show that Ben can play his bass hanging that low. I thought Krist from Nirvana played it low, but I think Ben had him beat.
i saw them in '92 at Lollapalooza in Raleigh. They played the Main Stage. So did Pearl Jam. That show also had Ice Cube, Ministry, RHCP, etc... I read later STP 91 and 93 were just as good. 91 was headlined by Janes Addiction with NIN, Ice T, Rollin's etc... and 93, Alice N Chains, Tool, Rage, Primus.
Awesome vid! It was tripping me up.to see Matt C. using his right hand to hit the snare drum so much , it seemed " wrong", but then it again it sounded good , & I can't play , so what do I know. I think this Lollapalooza had the Jim Rose circus sideshow along, that was awesome to see, as well
We were Murder on Level 3. Sam Deskin guitar, Ryan Tilman on bass, Steve Esquivel on drums and myself vocals and songwriter. We played Westlake center in the middle of the day in front of thousands of people without a permit November that same year and didn't get arrested
I just realized that is Jeff Loomis from Nevermore (then Sanctuary) side stage with blonde hair and sanctuary black t-shirt behind the white t-shirt guy. @ around 3:17. I guess it checks out both band being from Seattle.
When Timberland called Chris and asked to work together, Chris was like,"hm I don't know, ill get back to you", then Timberlake said"Ive been a fan for so long, the first time i heard Slaves & Bulldozers,i was hooked and i got it"..Chris said yes 3 seconds after...

Interesting that Kim was playing a Gibson Les Paul guitar here. He usually plays SG's right? And Chris looks to have a Fender Strat, which is not his usual guitar either. he usually played the Les Pauls. I wonder if they were just using borrowed gear for this one show maybe?
Maybe a stupid question but just curious as to how high the likes of Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Nirvana ranked in USA in 1992? Anyone can give a percentage to each band? Greetings from Denmark. (I was 14 years old in the summer of 1992, when I happened to visit the US, but alas, my focus was not in the grunge scene until it had peaked)
If you're talking album sales/hits/mainstream overall popularity, then you're talking Nirvana #1, Pearl Jam #2, with Soundgarden and Alice in Chains about neck and neck. Soundgarden would go on to much much bigger popularity when Superunknown came out a couple years later.
This actually was a benefit concert for my dad, David Curtis! It’s awesome to see some actual footage of soundgarden playing it! Thank you for uploading!
Rip Chris Cornell. Best grunge singer there ever was.
This was my first concert I was 10 in front row. My Dad, Dan Traub opened with his band Jefferson Brick.
And that’s my Dad’s Les Paul. I have it here. My Dad passed away 4 years ago, and this video means the world to me!
Even with the bad quality, his voice is so incredible 😍
The feedback is part of their show..
I can't even begin to explain how much I miss the 90's.

Ben Shepherd as an absolute Bass Monster, how on earth does he play so perfectly whilst slinging the bass around like that, man is a real player.
Try playing some Soundgarden songs with your bass low. It kinda makes sense actually. There's nothing too dexterous going on with the left hand.
True but its not as easy as it looks. Listen to my bass tracks. Thats where you might find it.
I only have 10 years left at best, help me out. just listen to the4 music
