- Today im taking a look at the differences between the Nike Dunk & the Nike Dunk By You. This is something weve mentioned here on the channel in the past but today im giving you everything you need to know including restock times & how to get a pair of Dunk By You's.

Hi Elliot, when you return any “by you” product it gets sent to a Nike outlet (I work in one) we get massive shipments of them at once that then get sold at 30% off
Cant you just return it and buy it for less?

@@enek1693 when it’s a return they get quarantined for about 2 weeks or longer, so you would be waiting a while and by the time it gets out out they usually get snatched up within a day or maximum 2 days.

@@120hz it should be the same worldwide. And sometimes depending on situations the shoes will simply just be donated through the Nike “giving zone” which is in the back and gets collected every so often. So nothing is ever wasted or gets binned off etc.

I absolutely love Dunks by you. U guys in Europe are so lucky to have them always available in all these color variations. Last time we had them available in US was about a year ago and it had very limited color options as well as it wouldn’t allow u to change color on certain panels which limited ur creativity and left you with a very few color combinations.
Yeah we are pretty lucky I’ve been looking to get a pair for awhile I heard that they restock normally around 2am so for us they get restocked daily looking to get the pandas since they look really nice and the by you material is way better
Where in EU? I never see them in stores. Just some weird colored Air Force 1s.

Same in Canada, the colours are very limited.
I ended up making my own version of shattered backboards hi's after you're advice. The only downside to the hi's is the panel behind the swoosh can only be in certain metrials. Needless to say I love them and the fact I can get them without paying ridiculous price is just a bonus

Mate, I'm so glad I got rid of my regulars and got a Nike by you pair. Quality is sooo much better. Well worth the price. Part of me feels like it's Nike's way of pushing people to buy Nike's by you, then later on just make the regular dunks material better with a steeper price.

A Few years ago Me and my brother were at an Nike Factory Outlet Store and they actually offered a Nike By You Football-boot even with the custom print on it. The crazy thing about it is that retail you pay I guess about 300€ for those kicks since it’s the Nike By You option but in this Factory Store we just payed 30€!!!
The shoe had a black design and the custom letters were white so my brother took a black pencil and overwrote those lmao

I have a few ' dunk by yous' and the material is just ridiculously better than the "plane" ones. I just ordered the 'unlocked by you' a few days ago, it has such good variety to choose patterns and materials, cant wait to get those in a few weeks time, its worth the wait!

@@roko3218 i think both are the same, I jist recently got the bandana patterned one, unlocked by you, I made two pairs and I like them both, tho its a bit more expensive but worth it imo
@@roko3218 my Dunk by you's are leather and the unlocked by you I made is full canvas so I dont know the leather quality but I think yes its gonna be the same pretty sure

The only negative I have about the Dunk by you pair is the sock liner is a really, really rough material, to the point where it pulls the fabric on socks. This is on the higher priced pairs (£125) which I’m not sure are still available? The regular £115 pairs are still rough feeling but not as bad. Apart from that, they are much better quality than regular Dunks 👌🏼
I have actually been searching for whether anyone else has noticed this- I recently ordered a pair and it just came in and compared to a regular pair i already have, the inside (sock liner) is noticeably rougher. Even the inside of the tongue is rougher. I am a little OCD so it is slightly annoying however the material overall makes it well worth it IMO.

i just did a nike by you, speaking of the recent material they put into it, the velvet safari theme and the suede crocs. Its firing with the new option for a good customization.

One Info you forgot to mention, is that the dunks by you, get the thinner laces (aka jordan 1 laces) and not the premium hard laces

What’s the difference between the Dunk by you and the unlocked by you??
I think you could put the colour panels in opposite panel to them as a “mirror” pair or whatever

Got a pair of the Nike dunk by you low, all I can is I'm very impressed with the quality. The only downside of it is the color kinda stained at the toebox from the eyestay, but other than that it's worth the price.

@@jolly1190 I purchased them through Nike EU website, and it was back in June. Haven't been onto their since then, so I have no idea when they'll restock again. Sorry. But do keep an eye on their website tho.
Hi, I have a question. What color is the logo on the tongue of your dunks by you? I want a white tongue with logo in black, on the website i cannot control the logo and white tongue with white logo doesnt look that good to me :(

I ordered dunk by you pandas and unlocked pandas, both have slight differences, so will be interesting to see which looks best. Dunk by you arrived yesterday and the leather is 👌👌👌
can you say which one is better in your opinion, when they arrive, cause I'm also trying to decide between the two
@@lucklion7897 the quality is the same except the By you has the remix / recycled outsole. I think prefer the sail/black to white/black so for me it’s the unlocked plus I got the Nike logo in green. Unlocked last year was a lot better but I never managed to get hold of them in time. Only decision now is whether to use sail or black laces with my customized Pandas.

One issue I have had with custom dunks is that the swoosh was a different material for me. Also, the leather kind of peels.

They removed the Dunk By you option from Asia Region (I'm in India) now they only have Nike Dunk Low Unlocked By you, which costs more, around 185 USD (in that price, we can get AJ 1 at retail ). also few downsides like not really a downside, but in that mode, you can't pick the lining color for the tongue (gonna stay white just like on your photo blue pair) also cant make pairs like Kentucky and Syracuse (Team Orange) I still managed get my self a pair for retail, but people are mad here selling the by you variants as well for resell price because technically they are also Pandas(250 Usd or more depending on the sizes)

Nike By You have now changed the leather tongue so its all one solid colour. Its a shame because you can't get the tongue to look like the pandas anymore with the little black outline on the edge.

Does anyone know whether the better quality Nike By You applies to AF1 and J1’s? I hate how the leather creases on standard all white AF1 in particular.

Yeah they’re decent for sure!
Things to note ( I have purchased over 30 pairs of Nike by you ) the leather as you say is amazing. Less creases and when it does it doesn’t look so bad. If you chose the paisley print option it is not leather and won’t stretch with your feet. The great thing about that is if you choose that fabric for the vamp area ( the toe section) it does not crease easily as it’s of a synthetic fabric. I love this option and will only buy retail dunks if they are a special addition with good quality leather. Can’t wait for the why so sad dunks. Let’s hope they actually release for retail as we have been seeing items release but you can only cop on the resale market

Just got mine and they are terrible quality, the lesther is different and softer, and is kinda fluffy/ripped put at the cutouts
@@jingo6119 you have been very unlucky. I have bought them for years and only had one arrived that was like plastic but other than that they were great. The leather is real which is softer than the usual ones bought from stores as they are plastic. People have grown so accustomed to those that they think real leather is weird or fells wrong. If you have a problem return them as you can still do so even if they are custom made

Hi elliot, I havent been able to get the high pandas and i thought this was my chance to get the colourway but on the app theres no suede for the white parts but knitted fabric. What should I do? I’m in canada and i will say, the nike dunk by you is 1000% worth it, don’t think ill bother tryna get the regular dunks anymore. Shipping was quick too only took them about 2 weeks to make and ship the shoes. ✌🏻

Source: I went to the outlet in Roermond NL and almost bought a Nike Dunk which had crazy colors and a name engraving for 30€. But didn´t like em enough in the end

In Italy Dunks High By You costs like 139,99 euros and Dunk Lows 129,99 euros. I did my own pair in Syracuse style and as I can see from the comments , I’m so lucky to live in Europe lol.

If you take a heat gun and heat the toe box up a little with the tree in it, it will help get the creases out
