I had the pleasure of watching your dad play at the bridge, Gianfranco Zola was the greatest player I have had the privilege to watch, and a true gent. The little magician
zola was to chelsea what cantona was to utd and bergkamp was to arsenal they changed english football forever, they are true legends of their respective clubs. Zola doesn't get talked about enough for his part in the evolution of the premier league.. He was massive
It was criminal of Sacchi not to play Zola in the '94 world cup final, preferring an injured Baggio to the end. I know Zola, as a Sardinian, was more combative than Baggio, he would have spat his heart and his lungs out rather than let Brazil win the cup. He would've come up with something to score a goal or to provide a killer pass, without giving a damn about the heat, the pressure and all the rest of it. Also, another source of motivation would have been his anger at having been totally unfairly sent off and banned for 2 games, so there was a strong need for him to redress the balance with a magisterial performance, if not for the whole final game at least for 1 half.
I'm Juventus fan, I remember him in a league match with neo promoted Cagliari against us at 39 years old destroy our defence and giving football lessons. And we are talking about Juventus PRIME. What a player.
Zola is one of the greatest Premiere League players of all time! It was always enjoyable watching him play, even to this day when he plays for charity, he's still a box of tricks!
This man was a brilliant player…. One of the best of his time …great goal scorer great assist man just an overall rounded player. Watching him in my days was a treat….thank you Zola ….
Zola's only problem was having Roberto Baggio as counterpart in his role. Zola was an hell of a 10, but Baggio was another thing, Baggio...for who saw him play, was the Football...as Maradona was.
@@simonpietroporcu2247 Agree on that, but for me Baggio have aldo more class and ball touch masterclass expecially in 1vs1 and most of the time 1vs many. Also in decisive matches Baggio was way more incisive than Zola, that still ofcourse remain an hell of a Player.
@@solinvictus1234 Zola was not understood by Ancelotti.. at the time the coaches were afraid of the number ten.. but Zola and Baggio are the same they differ in a few things.. Maradona liked Zola and proclaimed him his successor
Zola was damn brilliant. His only misfortune was to be born at a time where geniuses such as Baggio diluted his ability to be as recognised. If the top ATGs are A++ players, Zola was an easy A+.
It's just a shame he never won the World Cup and Champions League which his talent deserved. His lack of top honours don't do him justice. Does anyone agree?
It's a great pity that they didn't play together. Imagine Baggio and Zola tucked just in behind the extremely underrated and very clinical Guiseppe Signori!!
4:39 Zola is not the only mistake that Carlo made. He tried to sign Baggio10 too but they could not agree as Carlo wanted to play a rigid system with Baggio10 as the striker instead of playmaker. Carlo said later this was the thing he did regret picking system over players, as he lost Baggio to Bologna, where he banged in goals galore. Hope Carlo have much better luck with Mbappe and Real now.
ZOLA WILL FOREVER BE MY CHELSEA HERO YES PETER OSGOOD WAS THE TOP DOG BUT ZOLA CHANGE OUR DYNAMIC OF FOOTBALL AT CHELSEA WE HAD FLAIR WE HAD COUNTER ATTACK WE HAD DEFENCE WE WERE BEAUTIFUL TO WATCH
When he came to england it was a worry he might not fit in, the ferocity may be too much or the tempo...but, quality always comes out as well as ability and zola had a lot of both, a fantastic, skillfull and dedicated footballer...he was quality, not a doubt in my mind...a beautiful player to watch and one id like to see grace the italian team once more...✌🍺
Tuo padre non era inferiore a Baggio assolutamente: Baggio è "esploso" prima e ha avuto più visibilità. Se tuo padre fosse stato più egoista in campo avrebbe fatto molti più gol. Questo tuo padre lo sa.
He’s my dad and I just showed him the vid. He loved it ❤ you’re great at this
No waaayy 😳 This can't be real
Your dad is my hero, good luck to you and your family, great video
This is lovely!! : ) x #$ubscribed
Saluta tuo padre, idolo di tutti noi Sardi ❤💙

Totally agree 🙏 One of the foreign acts that took the PL by storm in the early years!
so sweet to read those words about Bergie
It's because he didn't win a league title
The most underrated number 10. He was exceptional
100% 🔥 A joy to watch!

A True Legend all the way through to the end of his career 🔥
Greatest player & firm favorite. He changed Chelsea from an average club to the giants they are today....

Tough to go up against Baggio for sure 😭
they are equivalent.. there is no difference between Zola and Baggio.. Baggio was better in goals,Zola was better in assists and free kicks

Technically he was from another planet.

@@footballreminisce For sure, bredda!
I’m an Arsenal supporter who couldn’t help but have a soft spot for Zola’s exploits and I’m glad he got the recognition he deserved
Fantastic Talent 🙏
@@footballreminisce He loved it too. His energy seemed very infectious. The definition of a talismanic player
Zola was the best player the Premiership has ever had.
Up there for sure 🔥
A true world class player and a top football professional.
IL SUO PRIMO VERO CONTRATTO SERIO L'HA FIRMATO CON LA NUORESE ❤
Great video man! Zola is a legendary pl icon
Thankyou Maxi 🙏 Definitely an absolute Legend!
Super Zola.... La Sardegna ti ama!
Leggenda 🇮🇹🔥
nice channel buddy. subbed! keep up the good work
Thankyou Buddy 🙏 Really Appreciate it.
I didn’t see the goal he scored from near the corner of the pitch after he drew out the goalkeeper. That was my most memorable Zola goal
Against which team? 👀 Apologies if it was left out, he has so many memorable goals 😂
@@footballreminisce Very last goal he scored for Chelsea v Everton
Grazie Zola ! 🙌👏👏👏

Zola was our messi in that time
Class 🇮🇹🔥

Shame he didn't win the Biggest of Trophies but he definitely revolutionized the Game 🔥
Zola was excellent. He learnt from the great Maradona.
Good video. Great to watch a football highlight reel for once without terrible music blaring over the top :D
Liked and subscribed
Haha appreciate it Paulie 🙏 More content on the way.
The best. One of the greatest.
No Doubt 🔥
Greatest ever Chelsea player!
You're not wrong 🔥
What a brilliant soccer player .respect 👏
Really good video mate
I appreciate it Ben 🙏 Thanks for Watching!
Legend!
Great player.
Just unfortunate he had to go up against the Divine Ponytail for the Azzurri.
Anyone would struggle to displace Baggio 😭 Zola definitely left is own legacy though 🔥

Great video, what’s his best individual season at Chelsea in your opinion?
Thankyou 🙏 I would say the 98/99 Season then followed by his Final Season.

SEXY FOOTBALL!
good info bro!!!!!
🙏🙏 Appreciate it man.
Chelsea could do with him now, his ability to work in tight spaces and open up low blocks was profound
Chelsea wouldn't be missing Nkunku right now. Zola in the 10 and everything is sorted.

He proved many people wrong.
YNWA fan.... True legend❤
In 1994, Maradona&Zola both were suspended by FIFA.
That was kinda disaster for football fans.
We lost all the magic 😭
Billions lira, miliardi. Not millions. Late 80s 2 millions lira was a normal monthly salary for a factory worker.
I took an hour trying to convert it to current currency but was like nah this looks wrong 😂 But he did transfer for 2M Lira.
@@footballreminisce 2 miliardi di lire from Torres in 1989. I know, the lira was a crazy currency
Ask any non Chelsea football fan from the 90s how good he was. 99% of people will give him a thumbs up.
Deservedly so 🙏🔥
Make please video about Dario Hubner :)
Thanks for the suggestion 🙏

2 million lira woulda been £1000. Ok, perhaps that is £3K in today's money, but that can't be right
😂 It was a Lower Division side he was transferring from all those years back so that 3K sounds about right.
