What's new with the NexDome observatory?

In this video we give an update on the NexDome observatory and what's been happening with the build.
Overall the NexDome observatory has been an interesting product. I definitely wouldn't recommend it for someone looking for a "plug-and-play" solution to an observatory. Instead, it's the perfect kit for someone who is handy, willing to tweak things to get them perfect, and most importantly looking to get the best "bang-for-your-buck" when purchasing.
I will do a full review of the NexDome once it's complete, but for now this video will serve as an in-progress review of the product.

I'm planning on purchasing a Nexdome within the next 12 months, but I have items to purchase and build well before I slide that credit card. This video has been quite helpful. Congrats on the move and I you are settled into the new place.

Hi, could you help me understand the pier geometry for the nex dome? I have heard that the pier column is not supposed to be in the center
I don't think Nexdome is for me! I've been looking at the ScopeDome, but shipping is a problem to the USA or I should say costly! It looks solid and seems to be better made than the Nexdome. Thank you for this video, it's convinced me to take a different route, than Nexdome!

@@FoFoAstro Looking at Technical Innovation, 10-foot dome. The price is comparable, after spending what looks like a ton of money on NexDome. Thanks again for your great video!
Are you still using the NexDome?
I am! I upgraded to a dual-motor system on the shutter and it has been rock solid since then. No issues after all of my modifications.
@@FoFoAstro I'm presently looking at the SkyShed Pod-S. Similar setup, I think.
