- Winter is the perfect season to slow down. As the weather starts to turn chilly in our Scottish home, I find myself feeling calmer.
The winters are long in the Highlands, so I am preparing for many weeks of short days, winter storms and icy weather. The perfect excuse for drinking tea and reading books under many cosy blankets.
It is one of my favourite seasons and I'm looking forward to enjoying it with you all...

Love the new design, sums me up perfectly so will definitely be buying something with that on. Only problem will be deciding what to choose. I have the hoodie and long sleeve top in the others design and they are gorgeous. It’s been very cold in Somerset and the hoodie is so cosy and warm. Thank you for the new design. Love the video. xx

I read Gulfs of Blue Air by Jim Crumley many years ago and it has always been one of my favourite books but I didn’t know about the 4 seasons books until you mentioned them. I added them to my wish list and they turned up under the Christmas tree this year. I have decided to read them as you are doing at the appropriate time of year, so have spent a happy couple of hours this morning up in the Ochils, walking in Strathyre and watching the whooper swans and the golden eagles with Ben Ledi as a backdrop.
My younger son and his family live just west of Stirling with a view of the Trossachs from their house so I can visualise all the places as I journey through the pages. Thank you so much for reminding me that Jim Crumley is such a wonderful writer.
Oh what a wonderful Christmas present! I'm also rereading some of his winter book and its just magical 😊💚

Have you ever read Piranesi by Susanna Clarke? As soon as you said you love books set in or around houses that jumped to mind because it is about a man named Piranesi living in a sprawling and mysterious house full of strange statues and creatures. I think it would be a perfect winter read because it has a haunting yet cozy mood throughout and is itself a mystery!

The biggest thing I miss about living in the UK (now in Portugal) is going to the library!
I love books and reading, I try and buy second hand and recently found The Eagle Bookshop in Bedford. I managed to get an old copy of Around the World in Eighty Days which had a name and address in the cover. We looked up the address and it was in a row of old terrace houses called Daisy Villa's. Lovely to imagine this book being in a bookcase inside this old house. I think you should look up Jasper Fforde and The Eyre Affair, absolutely love his books xxx

Gorgeous colorful footage and photos. I like your book haul too. You might like “The Outrun: A Memoir” by Amy Liptrot, if you haven’t read it yet. Orkney Islands-I love trees but this book really made want to visit the windswept Orkneys! About a woman leaving alcohol behind and many birds and beautiful bits about the island, wind, and sea.

Hi there, me again, was wondering if you could help me with my hopefully to be reading plan for 2023. Point me in the right direction to websites etc.
I was going to try and read a different author each month that had got something to do with that month, its a minefield out there when you are not that good on the computer. So far I have got Charles's Dickens for Feb as I read somewhere that web 7th is Charles Dicken's Day. (Already have 3 of his novels on my bookshelf so may make it the whole month, normally read 3 to 4 books a month depending of what the book is about) Anne Frank Day is June 25, so was going to re read her diary (again have other novels of hers on my shelf from when I was growing up so again may make it Anne Frank month) And now I'm stumped and can't seem to get a proper answer anywhere, are you able to help. Thought I may but a theme book in each month as well, so far I have got New Beginnings for Jan!!!!!

By the way I have just started my 71st book for this year, always aim for 52, last year I read about 62.

have been over to your shop, how big are the t shirts cut? I am a size 10 but don't like a tight fitting t shirt, so what size should I order.

Thank you lovely. I think that I think the tshirts are true to size and fairly roomy, although a size up would also work well. I would suggest ordering one size up in the the jumpers and tshirts for a looser fit 😊

Hello from Northern California! Thanks for the beautiful video and Skye hanging out. She is the same coloring as my Cat-Oreo. Anyway, I love rainy days{Because of climate change, Northern California does not get as much as it use too😭😭😭😭😭😿" and loads and loads of fallen leaves everywhere. So, seeing Scottish Highlands, brings a sense of peace and calm and I appreciate your videos and slow living. It helps me a lot, so thank you.
