I can’t remember if I’ve told you already or not, but you are just such a balm to my soul. You are so comforting and I just admire you so much!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful self!!
I so appreciate your comment about the fact that it is not possible for everyone to always have a happy Christmas season. My 20 year old son became ill with a now chronic illness 4 years ago. I remember hearing the song “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” as I was driving him to the Children’s hospital for a weekly IV treatment. Christmas wasn’t then and never has been the same. I remember feeling so terribly isolated and alone and thinking that no one would ever understand why the carols, lights, gifts and endless Christmas festivities at this time of year no longer held any value for me. Thank you for reminding me that there are in fact many people who could indeed relate to how I was feeling and probably have had to carve out a new path for themselves too at this time of the year.
I had to have my wonderful boy Merlin put to sleep December 15th six years ago and I am still not over it, despite having a human daughter and 2 other fur babies. It can be very hard being so empathic can't it. We have had very heavy snow here in the Snowdonia National Park and even though it is beautiful and we are spending alot of time getting cosy by the fire in the cottage, I am constantly worrying about the wildlife, strays and homeless people and feeling guilty that we are warm and well fed. We celebrate the Winter Solstice and indeed all the traditional Celtic festivals. Wishing you, your partner and Sky a peaceful and resorative festive season
I lost a dog a few years ago and even though she was 16 years old I still can’t think about her too much because I’ll be sobbing all day if I do. I enjoyed the video and agree with you about Christmas being a bit too mad for us introverts. Happy Xmas to you and your family🎄
I lost my most beloved dog a few weeks ago, she was born with heart failure so we knew she wouldn’t live to her full expected lifespan. But she lived many more years than all the vets had expected her to. I can’t think of her too much either because I’ll be a sobbing mess too. She made my life magical and the impact she had on me as a soul will never be forgotten. Sending you love, and same to everyone else who’s also lost their baby 🙏🏻💛
Just watched this video, in January. So sorry to hear about the losses. Our pet loves never leave our memories. I have experienced a lot of pet losses and it never gets any easier whatever the circumstances. Sorry it’s delayed but big hugs. xx
How sad about the winter for you. It's so very difficult, and to be honest, I have never healed from my losses. I have lost my mother, my sister, my grandmother, both uncles, and my aunt who was my last remaining family- all in the warm months, so I understand your feelings on the season. I have also lost all of my animals up until my kitties I now have. It seems the only constant in life is loss.
I hope you all have a lovely time, Molly, and congratulations on your channel! It's a wonder of our modern age, that like minded people can find each other, so easily.
I love the sweater you were wearing in the first part of this video. I had a special cat for 17 years; she died five years ago. Thank you for a beautiful video.💛
Have a lovely simple Christmas! I resonated with everything you have said and slowing down and appreciating slow time, nature walks, a special time with family and sustainable gifts with a few treats is the way we do it too. Luckily, my family have jumped on board with the lighter impact Christmas, which I so appreciate. I spent years struggling to keep up with Xmas expectations and thinking there was something awfully wrong with me as this lead up to it, used to make me feel quite unwell emotionally but now I know why. I love that you mentioned being sensitive and introvert. I am very glad I know why I used to feel that way around the festive period and I am sure your vlog will help others realise too. Enjoy the solstice - agree, it’s more magical. ❤
It's so refreshing to find people that are not interested in the whole Christmas Craziness. That's not to say I don't like Christmas, I really do, but only the sharing with family bit. The parties - no thank you. Your channel is beautiful and calming. Your dog is wonderful. We shall be having plant based for Christmas lunch here is Melbourne Australia. I have a delicious meal planned. I wish you a lovely minimalist Christmas with your family and look forward to hearing from you again in 2023.
I work in hospitality, so for the last 6yrs have spent Christmas Day working..am fortunate to work for a company that gives back to its staff (this year grocery packs) we will have a quiet family meal either before or after. Here also, in NZ its Summer time, so longer daylight hours which does give the option to go out later in day for a walk or to relax.
Enjoy your holiday season however you decide to celebrate it. I am completely away from my family and just kind of become reflective and wait for it to be over for the incoming new year . . . and more light in our days.
I approach Christmas similar to you. For me the short days and extra cloudiness are so hard. I look forward to celebrating the winter solstice and welcoming the return of the ☀️sun. We’ve received a ton of winter wonderland snow. ❄️Yesterday we started breaking cross country ski ⛷️ trails. We’re lucky enough to ski right outside our door without having to drive anywhere. 🙏🏼Happy holidays to you and yours. Finding your gentle, beautiful channel has been one of my highlights of 2022!
Thank you for another beautiful, peaceful, thoughtful video, Molly. I resonate with so many of your thoughts and feelings. I am sorry for your loss, and your friend's. I have lost three animal family members since July (two 16 yo cats, and my 14 yo dog) and am feeling very empty, sad, and lost. I had already left most of the materialistic holiday traditions behind, but this overwhelming loss makes it even more difficult to "put on a happy face" around others who are in full celebration mode. It helps to know that there are others out there who prefer quiet time in nature or alone or with a close friend instead of the usual hullaballoo. I wish you a peaceful, wondrous holiday and look forward to seeing your videos in the New Year.
Have a peaceful Christmas/winter solstice lovely Molly. I'm trying to be more minimalist but I don't think I'm trying hard enough. My husband is not of fan minimalism, so that makes it a bit more difficult. He will however, agree to paring back at Christmas. We have snow in abundance in this part of Canada and its beautiful right now. And I, like you, enjoy getting out for walks in the woods all bundled up. Rest up, and I'll look forward to another video in the new year. 🙂
Thank you for sharing your video's. Happy Christmas! Hope you have a lovely restful break. Look forward to your video's in the new year. Special thoughts also for our beloved animals and humans who are no longer with us. Take care ❤
so sorry to hear about your cat, yes i still miss my little rosie cat always so much fun and so cute, i love your channel its nice that it is different, i am a Christmas person but all the hype gets me down and it can be challenging for all the wrong reasons, i am a Christian so i do believe and hope it could be more about Jesus than amazon prime, all the best for 2023 take care xxxx
First year on RUclips and 17+K followers is a lovely success Molly! Well, although we share being vegan and a love for nature, I’m the opposite as far as minimalisms. My house is filled with Knick-knacks and at Christmas and Winter Solstice, it is loaded with decorations and such. I tell people that it looks like the North Pole or Santa’s workshop, inside and out because my hubby decorates a lot outside too! I love it all I though. It is exhausting needless to say. I only have to wrap gifts now, thankfully. I love celebrating Yule as the solstice is such a magical time. We will be making a special dinner and my daughters and I will exchange a small gift each. Happy Christmas to you and your boyfriend and extended family and wishing you peace and good health in 2023! ♥️♥️♥️
Happy new year….so glad i joined you in 2022, a great inspiration for someone so young…such a delightful lady you are…look forward to next year’s content xx
I thoroughly enjoy your channel and your perspective on life. I broke my hip recently so I can't walk far but I was with you on every step of your walk today. Thanks!
I'm really excited about winter solstice and I'll be celebrating that day with my 8 year old twin grand children. I'm trying to start a different tradition with them rather than the maximalist Xmas that so many people have. Enjoy your time off and see you in the New Year.
Such great advice about making REST the gift of Christmas. Totally agree. We try to focus more on a minimal Christmas when shopping too and enjoying a lovely meal on the day with family is the highlight for us as opposed to the presents. Excited for the Winter Solstice too. Have a lovely Christmas Molly and all the best for 2023. Also thank you for starting your channel this year. Love your videos.
My birthday is on the winter solstice and usually falls on a weekday when I’m working but nice to do something rejuvenating and peaceful that morning or evening. Thank you for your video and giving voice to an alternative to the hustle and bustle this time of year. In the United States marketing creates too much pressure from mid with the build up to Halloween through to New Years Day.
Molly, I really enjoy your videos. It's comforting to know that there are other people in the world--yourself and your viewers who have posted comments--who share the same values. I wish you a Happy Christmas!
Hello Molly 👋. I'm glad I discovered your channel this year. Looking forward to your vlogs in the coming year. Sorry to see you miss your cat. And I agree, this time of the year can be hard for people, I guess it's ok not to be ok and to admit one's feelings. And neither do I like parties, it's not me. Nevertheless, I wish you lovely holidays with your family and a healthy new year 🥳
Thanks for the video and all the work you do on your channel. My husband and I celebrate the winter solstice every year hiking with the dogs and having a picnic with warm drinks. We do have a little Christmas celebration with our kids. I’m sorry to see you sad about your cat. It is so hard when we loose a pet. I hope you have a restful winter and wonderful snowy walks with Sky!
Love your videos! Why? Because they show me that there is still peace out there, somewhere. I live in a muslim country where they 'pretend' that they don't celebrate Xmas but put up Christmas trees everywhere, to celebrate New Year's Eve... Duh... This mad crowd drives me crazy. Whatever, I'm gonna binge-watch all your videos now. Lots of luv ✨️💜
I try and get outside for both! I'm also making a wreath with my mum for the solstice that I can display until spring. I don't tend to stay up until midnight and get up early on New Years day instead, so I can enjoy a solo walk with the dog 😊💚
I’d like to say I’m a minimalist but I find Christmas just feels very consumerish (is that a word?!) I try and be minimal with presents and my kids don’t get masses. But we buy a lot of food. Too much really!
I have asked family if they wish to get me something that it is something that gets used like tea, seeds, etc something I can use that doesn’t end up taking space.
Consumerism around Christmas time is crazy, not something I enjoy. For the last 4yrs instead of sending Christmas cards, cost of postage, I give the money to a charity. In doing so, it brings me joy. I believe we should do what feels right in our heart, not just because it's expected of us. ❤
Such a lovely video. I really hope you have a wonderful time with family and friends over this Christmas season. Enjoy your rest and I’ll look forward to watching your future videos in the coming new year. Well done for all your achievements this year. xx
i prefer the Pagan side of xmas we are Atheist so we dont really go all out and we like to stay at home we are also a Autistic family so we all get very overwelmed at times x

🕯Not much to add, except for I can relate...from losing companion animals to avoiding christ-messy events...
