forgot to say, I love autumn, love watching the leaves change colour, so many different shades of brown, I shall be getting hubby to take me to the country park soon so I can put my wellies on and russtle through the leaves at aged 59
Love the bits of outdoors you decorated with. I brought in some greenery from my brother’s yard as well as some branches with holly berries - so nice since I live here in suburbia.
I'm from Finland and yes, this country is overall very flat. There are not many hills and mountains, except Lapland and some ares in the east part of the country. I have always wanted to visit Scotland, and now it seems that next year my wish will come true! Scotland nature looks so beautiful and raw somehow, and it's nice to hear, that scottish people feel some similarity with us finns and our lifestyle/culture :)
Greetings from Italy. I visited Scotland back in 1977 and I keep beautiful memories in my heart. Time to come again!!!! I do appreciate your video. 🇮🇹❤
Hi, I’ve just finished reading, Homesick by Catrina Davis. I would highly recommend it. Fantastic, thought provoking read by a very courageous lady who stepped away from the rat race. I won’t spoil it for you. Thank you so much for your beautiful vlog❤
I'm not much of a water person either but I love to sit at the edge an just listen. It is Thanksgiving this weekend in Canada. As I sat down to dinner I looked out my window. The bright red leaves sat against dark moody evening sky with the last of the sun's rays highlighting them. It was stunning, the perfect backdrop to my dinner. I love the colour contrasts in fall.
Lovely vlog. Yesterday my grandkids went to an apple orchard and brought home 2 bags of apples. This morning I made apple crumble for them. Autumn is officially here.
Thank you so much for the book recommendation for Homesick and the Crumble recommendation. I’m so enjoying your channel as I’ve recently begun watching. Sending Autumn blessings to you from my sweet part of the world in the Kensington neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, USA to you in exquisite part of The Highlands. 🙏☺️🕊💜
I was just thinking about Apple crumble this morning then watched your video and there was you making it! BTW I made the banana cookies and they were delish! 😋
Beautiful vlog, amazing nature. I too prefer autumn, it's a lovely season. If you like Scandinavia, you would love Norway. Been there this Summer and many years ago and it's absolutely breathtaking. Stay cosy and thank you for sharing 😊
I wish it was autumn here in California! Today it’s 90 degrees and honestly I’m tired of it! Probably the hottest October on record. Ugh. Hopefully November will bring true weather and I can put on my sweater too! ☺️ I will look into that book~I’m always interested in what I call the unusual read. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Lovely video. Autumn is our favourite season in Scotland too. 🏴 The colours are so beautiful. Love that you decorate your house with little pieces of nature.❤️🍂
Yes, I’ve read that sisu book, too! In the States, it’s called The Finnish Way, but it’s the same book. I’m quite inspired by Scandi/Nordic culture, too. Some other books like this are The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking and Lagom by Niki Brantmark. 😊
Just started watching your vlogs in the last few days. I'm loving all the content of your walks. I have mobility issues and am mostly housebound, but before I got ill, I loved running and walking in the countryside. I'm in rural Somerset so lovely round here too, but still too built up, but we have a small child and need the amenities! Anyway, really enjoying your walking content as living vicariously! Also, I'm really curious as to how far you walk on a short walk vs. a long walk. And how does your dog cope having to wait a few hours for his morning walk in the winter?
I'm so glad you found me! Short walk is generally 45-mins to an hour. Longer is generally 2-3 hours. We play ball in the garden to keep her occupied on winter mornings!
@@hippyhighlandliving thank you, just read your newsletter for this week, I'm 59 and learning so much from you. I'm a loner and don't mind not seeing anyone for a few days, have very few friends, well only people I see at church and work, only work very part time and feel guilty about it, so if didn't go to church or work I wouldn't see these people my needs are very few, just a good book, am veggie, have done vegan jan before a few years ago and it lasted into march, just needed a boiled egg so badly, love cheese as well. Can always fill my day up with simple things to do. Have hubby who works nights at home and youngest son (hhave 4 children) who is 23 at home, he has a twin sister at uni, other son is 25 and dd1 is 33 You can take away my telly, pc phone and I would be more than happy and not lonely, just please leave me my radio........ in my 20's I was very lonely and depressed, maybe pressure of society I don't know. Love all your videos, hubby is more than happy with the hours I work, I think people must think I'm lazy but love my time at home. How else do you fill your time in in a tiny home when not filming etc
@@suzannerobertson416 After my mom had kids, she never really worked outside the home again. If I had my choice I would be a mom and homemaker and maybe have some kind of small business that I could run from home. There's so much talk about this or that thing being a certain way because of evolution, well most women for centuries were homemakers, so I don't think those of us who want to be in the home doing those things should be made to feel guilty about it. After all it is probably "in the blood" from generations of women before us. Especially if your husband and you agree then it's really no one's business how much you work or don't work. I hope you don't mind me saying this, it's just a subject that's been on my mind lately, and I sympathize with you wanting to be at home more and yet feeling that guilt from society's expectations.
so happy i came across this video and your channel! i've always wanted to live on farmland. quiet and away from busy cities! this is great inspiration! :)

can I be really rube and ask how old you and your partner are and how long have you been living together etc
