This isn't the "best build", but its a fun one. Give Denam a blowgun that inflicts either Charm or Petrify then have the skills then have Eagle Eye + Meditate + Tremendous Shot + Anything Else. If you can get Eagle eye to proc then you have a 100% chance for your status to land. If it doesn't proc then Tremendous shot can also give a 100% chance for the status to proc. The Meditate allows to it to be used more often. You basically just have a Denam scampering around consistently landing a status every turn.

obviously a bit late to the video, but a few comments on the builds themselves:
For the first build, the main draw here is the large melee damage. double attacks, instill, and crits just scale damage wildly out of control. However, swords are heavy, and double attack itself has a hefty RT cost on it on TOP. This is all to say that a denam dual wielding swords is going to be slower than your knights and terror knights- and still locked to melee. This can be mitigated by trying to weasel in speedstar over phalanx when you're not running solo, putting on boon of swiftness, or my personal choice, just dual wielding daggers or 1h katanas instead of swords. those weapons types are quite light, have useful/powerful/ranged finishers, and arent any weaker than swords.
I don't have much to say about the mage build. though that specific build is more or less an end-game rune fencer but with conserve RT. which is to say it's not really SUPER unique to lord. But he can be a mage, and mages are good.
The third build is an interesting take on a hyper aggressive bulky unit, but i think we can spruce it up a bit to keep it just as offensive, but really dig into that "tank" aspect: Mighty Impact. Steelstance/Mighty Impact/Berserk and your choice of Weapon Skill, Rampart Aura, or Preempt for the 4th slot, depending on playstyle.
The thing here is that not only do crits do double damage, they cause knockback. when paired with berserk, thats not only a ton of damage, but youre shoving everyone back. With rampart aura, you can pin enemies between walls and your aura and be highly disruptive and protect your backline by weaponizing your aura.
With Preempt paired with mighty blow, you can mighty blow at the *end* of your turn, and with preempt, you will counter first, crit, and knock them back- outright preventing their attack entirely unless they have a spear or whip. It works wonders for swordmaster, and lord denam can do this too. except with any weapon he sees fit. For flavor, i like hammers here, but it doesnt truly matter. MP will be a problem, but if he gets swung at enough, he'll get a steady stream of MP that way
The 4th build, though, is something very interesting, and very wholly unique to denam, and he can fulfill it amazingly well. but i would make a a few simple changes: the first one being Vigorous attack. 100, 1000, 1000000% vigorous attack.
Raising your chance to hit to 100% from a skill also raises your weapon's on-hit chance to 100% as well. not only that, vigorous attack is AoE, extending that effect to your allies, AND attacks made under vigorous attacked cannot be blocked or parried. This skill alone for this build GUARANTEES the status effect on your melee weapon. Poison, breached, stun, silence, these are a simple attack action away. pair this with berserk? Claws for AoE poison. 2h Swords for AoE Breached. Daggers for AoE Silence. Absolutely mad.
this also allows you to tailor your spell choices to effects your weapons dont provide. slow, petrify, charm at range. and this is just 2 skills. steelstance tax if youre really going solo, i suppose, but in a dedicated team, i would swap it out for fearful impact- especially under berserk. this is a pseudo-baby version of lament of the dead, but with the added status of your weapon. 4th slot can be meditate 4 or conserve MP to lean into the spells, concentrate so said spells connect, weapon skill for finishers(which can also cause status like stop), speedstar for more turns, really its flexible. I think Meditate is probably the most useful general-use option here- This isnt really a dedicated damage build.

Really fun video! Your comment on making Denam every other class before Lord is a really good tip. I have never tried the class because I always saved Catiua in my playthroughs. From what I'm seeing, rather than viable, most of these builds I'd call workable 😄. It's fun ideas for sure, and I see the logic behind it. My thinking is that most of these wouldn't be applicable in a lot of circumstances, and focusing on one unit to be a jack-of-all-trades in a game about building an army is very tricky. For example, rather than two books and a phalanx, I'd use reflection or nullify to negate damages, meditate, engulf and nature's touch; equip Denam with a staff of purification for exorcism and one of the elemental staves for extra range; thinking a cheap missile, a summon and one of the apocrypha as spells... This is just one way I can think of making a Lord in this version of the game (I mention this because of the differences between the PSP remake of LUCT and how the skill system worked in that game) that, to me, sounds more viable in more places of the game. Add stuff like the flying boots or what have you, and you'd avoid PotD's, Bronsa's and PG's cliffs and pits xD. Nice work nonetheless!

I personally like having a dagger with parry 3, and lombardia with counter-attack. Then I use evade, speedstar, dagger (ranged finishing moves), and double hit. Also the accessory from the Blackmoor fight, and elemental enhancing equipment abilities from PotD / San Bronsa, along with changing his element to whatever the more powerful weapon is, for me that was fire. He is a beast. Throw in level II summoning magic, and some of the Draconic magics that enable magic evasion, or health regeneration, and hes unstoppable.

  • @TheRobversion1

phalanx is essential for solos but yeah for team play you can skip it. for solos, you can also consider steelstance/mind's eye if you can fit either in. when i get access to lord, my denam will be similar to your nuke build:
spells: summon, drain heart, boon of swiftness, instill of weak element/aoe
skills: meditate, speedstar, conserve RT, nature's touch (this is my flex skill for phalanx, engulf, conserve mp or whatever's needed)
i think for solo play preempt is awesome. if i'm seeing it correctly, phalanx prevents counterattacks but not preempt. for spells i'd go with instill, heal, dispel and boon of swiftness. then for skills, i'd add lament and mighty impact (good for pushing back on preempt to make enemy waste their attack if you use it before you end your turn).

I've been going with Dark Summon 2, Paradigm Shift, Instill Dark, and Boon of Swiftness (or switching out the last one). Then Phalanx, Spears, Conserve MP to cast Paradigm Shift or Summon 2 for free, and... I've been playing around with the last skill, but nothing is quite living up to its potential. Nothing gets close enough to a team with matriarchs/shamans/liches to let Lament of the Dead work. Double Impact sounds great, but if I have mana, Hellhound 2 is a delete key.
Maybe speedster, first aid, mother's mercy, or conserve RT? It's a tough call. I like the range on spears, but the lack of counterattacks in the dead zone is making me reconsider. Also, phalanx turns of counterattack, so maybe I could go Intercession (is that the anti-magic shield?)/Spell Reflect + Steelstance to keep getting my counterattacks in.
Or just move away from dark, choose an element and use Nature's Touch.

    • @Raeechi
      @Raeechi 2 месяца назад

To your second question yes you can. To your first question, he does it by first switching into every other class before coming back to lord. You can change to a lord at around lvl 30-32 (ish), but by then you still wouldn’t have unlocked all the skills of the other class, nor would you have unlocked some of the late game classes yet.
This means that if you swap into lord at that level, you’ll only get the skills from the other classes at that level- provided that you were at one point in those classes to begin with and that you hit the required levels to get the skills WHILE YOU WERE ON those classes before switching to lord (capitalised part needs confirmation, but I believe that’s how it works).
If you’ve already switched to lord before getting the skills from other classes that you want, I THINK all you have to do is level up in lord (for the stats, or not if you don’t care or have other stat goals), switch into the class that has the skill that you want unlocked at your current level, then switch back. To make it efficient, just get to your desired level and switch to as many classes as possible before switching back into lord, though its not so hard to get lord classmarks.

For the first build you should be running Brynhildr+Lombardia. I know it seems counterintuitive since Lombardia is lightning element, but it has counter 3. You get counter+Parry and all the benefits of double hit + instill light. Give denam a bunch of vit res str cards w the double attack mighty impact build and you can just charge him straight into the enemy line as a Lord, parry countering away while being tanky and getting a mighty impact double hit every turn. It can get crazy w berserk and such too.

Can confirm. At UL45 and these two swords, Denim can reliably hit for 800-1200 per turn, unbuffed, depending on the enemy. With Meditate IV, he's pretty much guaranteed to always have the 40 MP available as well. The AI unfortunately doesn't seem to know how to properly utilize this build though, so you'll have to manually control it to get the full benefits.

Skills - 1h katana, Meditate, terrify aura, Speedster. Sometimes I switch aura or speedster for Phalynx if I need more survival but with a full squad they hardly target him anyway
And weapons 1h katana and shield. The basics are, react to what’s happening on the map with resurrect, exorcise, etc. then with meditate proccing his mana is always full and the finishing blows for 1h katana have an insane range, and a double hit at melee so he can cover a broad area, be tanky, rend defense with terror, rez… he’s just a great all around unit.

My Lord build is basically an upgrade of the Rune Fencer, Skills are: Any 2h Weapon Skill(I like Spears and Hammers), Sanguine Assault, Conserve MP, Meditate. Sanguine can be swapped out for Nature's Touch if you don't have him running Light Or Dark. His Spells are Summon, Apocrypha, Instill, and Boon of Swiftness(Boon can be swapped out if you have another source of haste, like speed star , or certain post game gloves). Playstyle is the same as RF; He just has access to more MP, better spells, and powerful melee strikes via Sanguine. I feel this set up is also very flexible as you can make him more melee focused or spell focused by just swapping out Conserve Mp for something like berserk or speed star, or nature's touch. This build also interacts well with the Ogre Set once you get deep into post game.
