Dunlop TrailMax Raid, Heidenau K60 Ranger, Tusk 2Track from Rocky Mountain ATV: I am personally running these currently; off-road is exceptional and on road is quite good, MOTOZ TIRES are, in my opinion, the best adv tires. They make a DUAL VENTURE front tire that can be reversed. You can choose between the Tractionator Adventure Tire or the Tractionator Rallz tire. The later being the more aggressive off-road rear tire.
I've found the STR tyres to be pretty awful off-road but pretty good on-road. It's odd because they look as if they'll be decent off-road. The lateral grip seems to be the problem, which makes sense when you study the tread. I'd be tempted to try the Dunlop Trailmax Raids.

But if I have to be neat picky, I’d say : - wind protection ; depending on your height, you may need a taller windscreen or a deflector (deflector in my case for 175cm) - seat confort ; it’s good, but after a long day, my ass starts to hurt. I think I’ll be looking for a confort seat (or accessory that will do that job) - good suspension but you need to set them up properly (harder imho). I love the sound too, but I’m thinking of changing the exhaust (while keeping the cata because I don’t want to bother people). I have the ax41 tires. They are really good on road. Off-road they perform quite good too for 50/50 tires. I do more road that off-road, so I might change tires for something a little more road oriented while being off-road ready. - screen, I changed to a tall one, then changed back again because I hate looking through it at the trail or the road - seat, I understand! - suspension, I've not had any problems at all. Very adjustable, can work on road and off road at my speeds (so far!)
I have the Karoo 4 on the Tuareg and they are great. Windscreen was an issue too. Bought the IRS from Italy, standard height but wider towards the bottom. Made a big difference, no more turbulence and on longer trips the upper body and legs are wind protected. Factory Hand guards are rubbish too. I've had the Karoo 4 on my Tiger GT Explorer for about 4000km. Vancouver Island is all mountains and coastal twisties. Other than some weird dog-tracking in corners when they were new the tires have been great. Still have about 1/2 the tread left on the rear which surprises me as I'm usually a bit heavy handed and the Tiger is not light.
the Karoo 4 is a great tire, but it doesn't last at all. Mine was completely disintegrating at 2000 miles, under my Tuareg. It's a soft compound, so if having fun and sliding around on gravel, it gets eaten quick.
Can't see if you have posted anything further about your tyre choice but on the similar XL750 I have tried Bridgestone AX 41 ( good and predictable on and excellent off road ) and more recently Dunlop Trailmax Raid ( excellent road and surprisingly good off road). If you like the Pirelli STR on road but not off the TrailMax Raid might be the best pick as a perfect compromise tyre. The AX41 provides a little bit more bite off road and is very feelsome on road but you find you might get a bit too much traction control intervention on road in the wet. The Raids drive out of corners better

How's that cheap screen going?
I took it off, it's only good for long journeys. I hate trying to look at the road or trail through it
@@btgmoto fair enough. I bought one today. I'll probably be the same. Btw the video you did working out if you should sell the gs made me buy a tuareg. Super happy so far.
AX41 ?
Good call, will check those out on price and availability etc...
Mitas eo7’s
Good call, I did have them on my F800GS a couple of times and they were OK
Wow. Why are my comments being deleted immediately?
I didn't do it? Connection issue?
@@btgmoto No idea. Just said that it might be slightly misleading to say the Tuareg is "tuned down" version as it's just tuned for offroad. Aprilia had to sacrifice some of the peak power to get a flatter torque curve. So it is tuned differently but not necessarily "down" 🙂
Seems to be working now.. But yeah it's not 'restricted' it is just tuned for torque.
MOTOZ tyres!
Thanks for the sub! Motoz are so hard to get here
Ahh that's a shame, i'm a convert. Really enjoying your channel mate! If you get a chance i would like to see you do a review on Kawasaki Ninja 1000sx. Cheers.@@btgmoto
I have a new toy 🫣
What have you got?
@@btgmoto Well ! I wasn't going to do it and I said I definitely wouldn't but ! I ride one . R1300 gs 🫣
@@markshirley7639 I'll pretend I'm not jealous, if you pretend that you regret buying it. Deal?
@@btgmoto it's awful ! Biggest mistake I've ever made 🙄 you could review one ! Then you can tell everyone how awfull it is !
@@markshirley7639 Sounds like a great deal! I'm actually not that bothered about it. It has a funny headlight, and that's enough to tell that it probably rides awful.
Motoz tires
