Clearly you’ve only watched people who like it in this particular way so far. I’ve got different preference so I state that openly. There are competitors that suit me better - I’ll be making comparisons between them this year.

You are spot on right; in the left conpression leg by accident the factory people have mounted the piston upside-down. This should be fixed with the MY2024 but all the 23 models have it. It is an easy fix though, covered under Piaggio warranty!

Ive owned one for a year, for the cons
-the suspension for front and rear is fully adjustable so you can make it softer (not just preload. They also make harder and softer springs)
-mine shoots a liquid out as well not sure what it is gonna take it and ask the dealer soon
    - for the power its meant to be a giant dirt bike for offroading its a Tenere 700 but better
    - i agree the fuel cap is a bad design choice
    my personal pros/cons (no order) i noticed while owning;
-For any serious offroad riding the brake and shifter lever designs are AWFUL. The pivot bolt can be broken with just your hand if pulled! and the cast aluminum does not bend. needs to be switched out for stronger bolt and steel for more bending when dropped(there are aftermarket options)
-Need to pay extra for a media plug in in order to connect phone and get tire pressure gauge reading and navigation.
-glad cruise control was stock but wish heated grips were stock as well.
-does not come stock with tail rack which for an ADV bike is ABSURD
-The passenger foot pegs are a broken leg waiting to happen and a bad design I immediately took them off and filled the hole with a plastic plug
-noticed my rear brake fluid dirties rather quickly possibly not fully sealed not sure if happens on other bikes or just mine
-Stock pegs are great with the rubber insert and removed but they brake easily as they're thin
-stock skid plate is trash for anything other then gravel or packed dirt roads which the bike was designed to do basically everything but hardcore single track enduro stay away from trex racing skid plate for this bike as the end smacks the suspension links
-ive heard complaints about the CAT being hot but its never bothered me, personally im gonna do a full exhaust switch to get rid of it and get better sound, TQ, HP, and weight savings. If this too an expensive option you can always wrap the stock pipe in heat wrap and it helps alot
-for me the seat is amazing but thats me coming from my only other bike having been a Gen 3 KLR 650 and im not too picky about comfort
-small dealer network can make getting parts very hard
-owners manual says "take to certified aprilia dealership" for everything
cant think of anything else at the moment but other then these which are all fixable in one way or another (except the leak and brake fluid thing still not sure on those), with that siad EVERYTHING else on the bike is PERFECT, low CG, Good tank size, Lightest mid size adv on the market, plenty of suspension travel and ground clearance, riding modes, 2 of which are full customizable, not too tall, Personally love the old school red white and blue colors, plenty of low TQ and can easily go 125mph without problem, great balance and control all through out and for the price its amazing
i have personally fixed all the issues listed and its the perfect bike and have 0 regrets of my purchase only thing left is too see the reliability in the long run

There is a misprint in the manual with the fork preload. It's exactly the opposite of what it should be and it's a night and day improvement on fork feel. Manual says 6mm from closed, but it's actually 6mm from fully open!

I own a Tuareg and have watched a lot of review videos. Vtold’s iniital impressions video is the only one where the reviewer noticed the problem with the compression leg of the forks. I had mine fixed and it made a world of difference. Not under warranty however because the dealer was super dismissive.

so...out of respect for you, I'm gonna ignore the "design" comments...😅...the Tuareg is a proper large dirt bike/adventure bike.....I am gonna send it back to australia for criss-crossing everywhere, but in the meantime, I've been banging it out across some balkan TETs and the Tuareg is absolutely tip-top! I will defo not take her around Phillip Island, but for fanging around any road except autobahns it is absolutely briliiant. Suspension is excellent- truly responsive to adjustment - which is not always the case with bikes. Personally, I have had zero reliability issues. 80 Hp is more than enough for the dirt, but yes, not so much for the road.....but there is always a limit for the road. If you wanna go faster, go to a track....And on the road, don't point and squirt....it's got a zillio cms of travel, ride appropriately and you will be a-moving!. I am supremely happy with Rhonda (my Tuareg) and while I will get myself a more road focussed bike for Europe I aint gonna sell Rhonda. She is gonna take me across Aus as many times as I can afford the time and money to go back and do proper dirt trips. She is the best middle weight without a doubt!

This fuel infusion is one of the best I've had on motorcycles. Simple as a price, it can't be broken, it doesn't get jammed with dirt. And its action is very simple. In an adventure motorcycle, that's what it should be.

Did you adjust the suspension (with the clickers) to set it up for you and your preferred riding?Or are your opinions more oriented toward "straight from the dealer" suspension setup?
Are there differen riding modes that you tried for the performance? maybe Sport or something would give better performance?
did you feel like it was a comfortable bike to ride. . .with decent wind protection and seat, etc?

I had changed de front sprocket from 15 to 16 teeth, the gain is cca 5-6 kmh at same rpm, nice.
My conclusion is that worth this change for rider.
If you'll travel with pillion and many luggages,not...keep the 15.

  • @yveslaurier950

With a 0-100 km\h time of about 4.75 sec., I really don't understand your complain about performance. In it's category, it is about the best you can get when it comes to acceleration. As for the suspension, I love the way mine is working. With 11,000 km on mine, the only problem I've had so far is the fuel gauge failing. However, it still warns me when the tank gets low. As for the seat, I've seen better, but I've also seen worst. One gripe I have is with the Tuareg's factory luggage rack. Having a flat bar in the middle of the upper tube makes it hard to fit back plates for soft side bags.

I agree that the Aprilia is under powered. It's a 660, after all. It would be great if they made it a 900 with about the same weight.
Unreliability is one thing, but poor service and the lack of parts availability is much, much more of a concern for me. When a KTM needs parts, they're nearly always available and delivery is quick throughout Europe.
