Love the video! An idea for future videos could be a basics video. Everyone shares the white tshirt and jeans but what kinds of things should I actually be buying?!
As a hijabi I totally agree with the 1st tip. Wearing flowy skirts or wide legged trousers are my go to. It creates a breeze in the summer and I the extra space allows me to customize them to the weather by whatever I wear underneath, so I actually end up spending less money on different clothes for each season.
My notes: - wear flowy clothes instead of stripping to the skin -cotton linen tencel ✅ -polyester acrylic rayon ❌ -choose a centrepiece -accessories to the max -accessories are just a bonus that won’t make you warmer
And for those who never tried: Linen fabric is literally magic. It's slight stiffness makes it stand apart from your skin and it's antibacterial properties make you NOT SMELL. I can wear linen blouses 2 days in row in july, now try that with a T-Shirt, yikes. Also: Parasols and handfans gives you extra chic, shade and air flow, if thats not the perfect combo. And no hat-hair with a parasol.
The tips in this video are ESSENTIAL (warm summer squad). Here are some KTU University video suggestions: -Styling outfits for a rainy/humid day -Styling outfits for a windy day -Styling outfits for prom/hoco/dances -Styling business casual/interview outfits -Basics of Accessorizing (hats/hairpieces, jewelry, shoes; etc. for different occasions) -Environmental-friendly styling
As someone who lives in a hot and humid climate, this video is greatly appreciated. The theory part was super informative and all the fits were literally ✨perfection✨. Thanks for the inspo!
Additional note about the fabrics : although viscose is a type of rayon it’s veryyy breathable as a hijabi girl viscose and cotton saves my life in the summer so give it a try
In my humble opinion, rayon(/viscose) shouldn't even be in the category of fabrics to avoid (at least not in terms of its properties in this context - environmental issues are a different discussion). The recommended tencel (which is a more environmental-friendly brand-name version of lyocell or modal) is actually a form of rayon, which is the umbrella term for wood-derived fibers, all of which are rather breathable and absorbent.
Platform shoes are a MUST for summer, the platform create space between your feet and the road (that usually get really really hot), so I find it really helps with feeling cooler 👌🏻
I recently graduated from college but I’m about to apply to KTUniversity because wow the inclusivity is next level and with summer coming up THIS IS PERFECT 👏🏽. I’m in New York City and that city heat is brutal 🥵
I love your fashion videos! I'd also love to see a "trying on everything I own" video, a shoe collection or capsule wardrobes for different climates/occasions. I love seeing how many different outfits people can make from a limited number of pieces.
Tencel lyocell is a great material! As in, it has good qualities, and it’s good for the environment. It’s made from cellulose, which requires a lot less water than thirsty cotton.
depends... Tencell is often made frome eucalyptus, which actually is very very thirsty and often planted, again, in dry, warm areas... so, reducing consumption is key here, too
Finally! Some summer outfits that aren't revealing. Living in a tropical country where wearing sleeveless stuff is considered to be inappropriate, you have no idea how much I appreciate this.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT, QUEEEN, i live in Brazil and the summer here makes me wanna burn my house down. It's so hot and it's tiring trying to look cute around here. Love youuu 💜
Great outfit ideas - but as a sweaty Betty I really have to be careful which colours and cuts I wear, or risk sweat stains. If you don't have this problem, it is of course much easier to dress in hot weather, but still, e.g. the dress would be perfect for me...
Thank you - I was looking for this comment. My thoughts while watching the video were just 'she definitely doesn't have to deal with heavy sweating'. I always have to take that into consideration when creating any outfit
we have very different styles yet i've been unconsciously dressing by these same rules all summer (southern hemisphere here) and i think that's so cool!!
i love you for this 😭 i live in a country where it’s quite hot and the winters are not even that cold and it’s really hard to wear sweats and stuff so thank you

I‘m from Germany and it won’t get warm until may (that being about 70 F on nice days) , so this Video lets me dream 🥲 (and plan my outfits with much time ahead)
With fabrics, I sew my own stuff for summer, and cotton voile is great for making long pants that keep you cool. They're super easy to make, I just traced a pair of sweat pants onto the fabric, sewed up the legs, sewed the two legs together, and then added elastic to the top. Super easy. I want to make some shirts to hopefully avoid sunburns. Cotton is also really easy to dye, so if you want to change the colour, or go for a tye-dye statement piece, it's really easy to DIY.
You always include your handbags in your outfits but you never talk about them! I would love to see you talk about your handbags and how to include them in your outfits!!
Another great video 💕 I live in Australia so as you'd expect it gets very hot and as much as I love wearing the bare minimum in summer that's just not the best choice for my meetings with professionals so I'll definitely be using these tips.

I need that!!
Yess. I can't really wear skirts above knees or tank tops oh and also off shoulders
pastels or light colors are one way u can easily do that!
Lots of loose, flowy fabrics, ruffles, accents, and feminine patterns/colors are how I do it.
