I NEEEED A TRUE WINTER VERSION!!! Bruh I live in Norway, these are basically summer outfits to me. During winter it’s not only cold outside. It’s FREEZING outside and butt cold inside. But still, lovely video
Kaiti: how to stay warm and cute Also Kaiti: wears an open back, open chest and slippers Girl how are you not freezing. We are supposed to have similar climates but my coughing and sneezing is suggesting otherwise
@@Serena-or7sl 20 degrees with these layers? I would die. For me this perfect for 5 to 15 C degrees, depending on the wind. I would totally wear the white sweater outfit if it’s even colder, but I’d add a scarf and maybe a beanie.
@@Serena-or7sl bruh 20 degrees is kinda warm and i would definitely melt but yea i get it.. everyone's body is different so i guess we should all wear what we want to and what comforts us the most ..
Part of what’s difficult about layering with coats is that, as a general rule, coats cost more than the average other article of clothing. College me lived in a place with below freezing temperatures and I had one coat-I had bought it on sale for 80 bucks (in 2010). All coats used in this video have a list price of more than $100. So it may not be that we’re layering wrong… we might just be poor. That said, I appreciate the advice given on silhouettes and under layers (college me had one coat, but several pairs of $10 long johns that literally saved my butt). Nice video😊
I thrift most of my thicker, floor-length & trench coats (they weren’t shown in this video as this video was sponsored) but i HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend going to your local goodwill or saver’s. (Will try to include them if I make a winter edition of this!) 💞
It’s really hard to find a new wool coats for under $100 though. If you want it to be warm it pretty much have to be over 60-70% wool. They are usually quite easy to find second hand, which I always try to look for 😊
Dude, I come from a very ✨toasty✨ small town, and when I moved out for college to a much colder city I was lucky to have many relatives and family friends give away coats and sweaters to me. Basically I just try to work with what I already have and accessories based on my pre existing hand_me_down coats, I was alo very lucky to get things in colors that I already like and/or have in my wardrobe
@@KaitiYoo I’d love to see them🙂 At that point it just becomes a matter of time and persistence. Which I need a lot of if I’m to find sleeves that cover my ridiculously long arms🤦♀️
Fall/winter is my favourite time because its where you can literally standout fashion wise while keeping warm. As a Canadian, I master this art form. Love your videos, glad I discovered it.
Can you explain coordinating purses/bags? Sometimes I wear a fancy one to “elevate my outfit”, but it just looks out of place. Explaining colors/styles of purses like you did with the coats in this video would be very helpful!
The problem with coats and jackets is that usually to keep yourself warm you have to zip them - then nothing underneath can be seen and it doesn't look so great
another tip for skirt loving folks- if you wear a longer overcoat with a waist tie, it can emphasize your silhouette! I like to wear a knee length coat that I tie but leave unbuttoned so that it still shows a bit of the layers beneath it
Wait you're right. I once wore a black spaghetti strap top and a black coat that reached a little below my hips and a maxi skirt with a belt. Really made me look like I had more curves and longer legs
Girl there's no way I would survive in these outifts in german fall and winter lol. Of course the outfits are cute when you don't actually NEED scarfs, gloves, THICK sweaters and jackets, hats etc. to be warm. It would be cool if you did an actual "winter edition" of this video
this is cool but like many have said these are pretty much summer outfits for where i live (like,, summer nights at 10°C aren't uncommon lol) so i'd like to know more about what to do when the weather kinda forces me to wear these bulky, lowkey ugly jackets! (+thick gloves, hats etc... making you look like a whole child) as a teenager i was just freezing during the winter bc yk, social pressure of not looking like you're heading to the north pole lol, so now that i'm an adult i don't want to freeze anymore, but i still want to be content with what i'm wearing. at the same time, just because it's below freezing outside doesn't mean it is inside - so i often run into the problem of freezing outside and sweating inside if i'm wearing too warm clothes lmao. maybe it's an unsolvable equation but would be nice to know what to do when it's normal temperature inside but super cold outside!
I appreciate that you say stuff like "none of these looks/pieces are wrong, just think about what impression you want to create". That really helps when you want to apply this advice to your own unique style, instead of saying "oh you HAVE to wear this one type of jacket or you're wrong." Also I'd just add one thing which is especially in a winter version of this, check your fabric content! A slim fitting 100% merino wool sweater is going to keep you ten times warmer than a gigantic bulky sweater that's all acrylic.
As someone who lives in Canada, skirts are definitely doable in the winter!! I use two pairs of thermal leggings and wool skirts! I find them warmer than pants most of the time

Yay new vid, aesthetic as always!!! Kaiti, can I suggest a video tutorial on how to be good at layering while having a breathable outfit. Because this is my everyday problem since I live in a tropical county (Philippines). How can I have an interesting and layered outfit while still avoiding heat stroke? Edit: some of the outfits reminds me of Vivian from legally blonde, like kaiti probably raid her closet hahahaha
Yeah, layering is key, but girl, you have not seen the colder seasons here... You can't really wear just 2 to 3 thin layers and expect to be warm when it's 60°F outside at best and gets down to 10°F in autumn and winter lol (15 to -10°C) What I wear: a top, a Tshirt and a long sleeve shirt or sweater or both & pants without holes lol, sometimes thin tights underneath (If I want to wear a dress or skirt, I have to wear warm fleece tights at least) And on top of all that a coat or jacket zips or buttons up, as well a scarf, gloves and possibly some kind of headband or hat in the winter. Now THAT is layering 😂
me: i'm from alberta lmao this is unrealistic in the winter also me: *wore vans and bomber jackets to school in -40C snowstorms all throughout high school*
i would absolutely love a full winter version for this! my uni campus is in the middle of nowhere so it's gonna be hella cold and i'm going to need all the help i can get!!
After I moved to a colder climate I love fall/winter fashion and it broke the stereotype of not being able to look cute. It's how you style it. Just having the staples is enough. I loooooove your lookbook videos. You're my inspiration. Hopefully someday I can break out of my shell and really slow my personality.
All my favourite clothes and aesthetics are for cold weather, I feel so un-cute sweating away in the same few singlets and cotton dresses in summer. But I'm in Australia so we're heading that way and summer weather is like 5 months of every year so I'm living vicariously through these videos, jealous jealous
Yes us Antarcticans want a true winter edition, bc literally dying every year😂 Living in Finland where it gets below -30C. I wanna see Kaiti style dem long woolly underwear and ski-proof outdoor pants :D
Made my morning :) The silhouettes things was definitely something I needed to hear, is usually just throw on whatever color matches! Thanks for delivering as always, you’re a queen 💅
Can we get the polar opposite video?? Cuz i feel that alot of cute outfits have layers and were i am from is hot as shit. Like wearing a buttondown makes u sweat hot.
As someone who has gone my entire life feeling like I just don’t GET how to style myself, your fashion videos just make so much sense to my logical, formulaic brain
Another great way to layer with skirts is to wear tights! And, if you live in colder climate, try to get a pair of fleece lined tights. They have saved me on many occasions when I want the skirt fit but it’s freezing outside. And, of course, there’s the ever-amazing turtle/mock neck. THE layering essential!
The trick is adding a warm petticoat (thick wool)-in my experience, much warmer than fleece tights. The over skirt can be as fashionable as you want. The petticoat will trap more air and heat. It had me sweating at -17*C outside in the dark (with my knee length coat).
Didn't watch the video, don't need to after looking at the newest comments. Just dress warm anf however you want. In actualy cold weather, NOBODY LOOKS CUTE or Freezes.
As a German I’d literally freeze in these with -10°C and even less… I usually wear a top, a shirt, a skinnier pullover, and a wool pullover. Then a big coat and a scarf. Thinner tights, thicker tights, leggings and jeans plus two pairs of socks and boots. Don’t forget the hat!
I hope I'm not the only one requesting this but as a hijabi I'd really love a video along the lines of how to add a hijab to these outfit concepts w/o ruining the whole vibe bc I have a hard time with that. (esp monochromatic looks for example are impossible to pull off but there are more examples). I hope my request makes sense. love your videos tho xoxo
Heyyy could you pleasee do a closet essentials video? I need it so bad rn because I'm always just unable to put outfits together :( Also I love the way you smile, trust me it makes my day so much better
i honestly usually just wear a cute outfit with my good old winter puffer over top (and some warm undergarments) and call it a day. but hopefully someday i can be all extra and stylish like this!!
Another way you can wear skirts in the cold is by wearing skin colored fleece tights and then layer a black pair of tights over it. Absolutely warm af.

I love this video so much and I would take your advice if I didn't have severe asthma and gets cold unless wearing a long huge puffer jacket that really isn't cute.
Yes! Love everything about this. Especially the secret layers of warmth. Also sneaky way to wear shorter skirts in fall buy nude fleece lined leggings (not tights) and layer black tights on top. You get fuzzy warmth but also the opaque tight aesthetic. Note I've only tried this in temps as low as 50F so not sure how cold it works for.
would there be any way to do another one of these videos for someone living in a colder place? I cannot have any skin showing without freezing to death. Most of these fits usually have only one or two layers and don't include scarves :(
I also love the analytical approach to fashion, and more importantly, how you EXPLAIN it to the viewers. I'm realizing more and more it is not innate, and many girls could use an opinion that comes from a good eye for angles, placement, contrast... because that's what it really is... not necessarily just "clothes" and "style".
I would love to see a video about un-tucked shirts or how to style tucked shirts! Any time I try to wear tucked shirts it just looks...weird, and the way that you explain things is so easy to understand for someone who isn't super deep into fashion

But what to do when you dont own one of those cute buff cropped jackets…? :( (regarding tip 3 with dresses)
First!
OH MA GAHDDDD
3:00
was that or was that not meant to look like chore from bts DynaMite.....
would there be any way to do another one of these videos for someone living in a colder place? I cannot have any skin showing without freezing to death. Most of these fits usually have only one or two layers and don't include scarves :(
Could you do coats to fit different blazer colours for an English winter (bc of school uniforms- my schools blazers are maroon)
ehmmm where I live it's too cold to wear an open back shirt without dying so.......
OMG yes to full winter video pls! Pray from my cold ass in MN 😭
Im sorry but putting on a dress/top/sweater and a coat on top is not layering also not helping people that live where it’s actually cold
*Mean while Indians:*
_It's blazing summer here_ 😭
Would love to see a 'cities as people/characters' video, great video as usual
Lol not me liking the fit with the puffer jacket more than the long coat in the last outfit.. fashion is so weird and personal
Okay, I think I get it… but just to be safe say the whole thing over again I didn’t get it at all
I feel like I should be taking notes 😳 should I be taking notes?
My silk base layers have been game changing. I also love cashmere and merino wool.
This all looks so cool and they're great tips but my poor ass literally has one coat for the entire winter 😭
When you only have 2 coats/jackets
A thin one… and a thick one…😐
*when your a middle schooler and your parents won't get you more than one coat for winter*
When you live in South Asia and can’t layer even in winter :’ )
That is not warm when you live in canada/uk....
could you do a styling graphic tees vid? ly kaiti!
Can I just say girlie is pulling off all these outfits with the same top 😩
I also love the analytical approach to fashion, and more importantly, how you EXPLAIN it to the viewers. I'm realizing more and more it is not innate, and many girls could use an opinion that comes from a good eye for angles, placement, contrast... because that's what it really is... not necessarily just "clothes" and "style".
Can you make a video on how to style timberlands?
I would love to see a video about un-tucked shirts or how to style tucked shirts! Any time I try to wear tucked shirts it just looks...weird, and the way that you explain things is so easy to understand for someone who isn't super deep into fashion
Kaiti kinda reminds me of Kristina from Greys anatomy
who keeps letting this girl pronounce scheme as "shceme"
