Sandy was surprised when he said they use a ribbon cable... I'm more surprised that others DON'T! Are you kidding me? That CANbus crap looks like it's from the 80s...
What are you talking about? The Cybertruck is based on the CAN FD 10BASEDT1S standard published in 2020. With signatures from Ford and Audi. The big advantage is Tesla can move faster.

@@rogerstarkey5390 the cybertruck was first announced in 2019. The standard was published in 2020. It makes total sense that Tesla would adopt cutting edge technology. Tesla filed a patent for that design in 2018 iirc
Sandy is sharp as hell for a 75. Full of energy too.
It will be poetic justice served when the apolitical investors get rich by sticking with logic and independent thinking rather than following the propaganda about Elon-Tesla failure.
Your video serves as a calming beacon, particularly when financial markets are in tumult. Your analysis offers a prudent course of action, fitting seamlessly with the current stage of the economic cycle. Nonetheless, one cannot overlook the expanding mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies since 2019, as well as the fervent discourse surrounding prospective Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. Might these elements sustain the market in this particular cycle? Speculation abounds that we are on the verge of a significant market upswing, making this a moment of great import for any discerning investor. My father was a body-in -white specialist. Jaguar, Peugeot.
He would have been in love with Elon’s work. As an engineer he would have been astonished with Tesla’s production engineering.

Sandy's first Tesla teardown exposed an unending stream of unfortunate technicsl detsils.
Sandy noted that in a month of podting a video, changes showed up in production.
More recently his comments are more likely expressions of astonishment.
Not only did they invent their own alloys, but also wrote their own CFD software to optimize the geometry for improved flow (and hence bigger castings in smaller presses). Amazing.
HFS!
I've always appreciated Sandy Munro's breakdown of cars and Teslas and this is a great current video where he breaks down who he is and where he stands on Tesla, particularly CT. Thanks SMR!!
It truly is mind-blowing stuff. Wall St and Legacy automotive won't get this, not even when Sandy explains it to them. They'll go back to their respective factories and just keep doing the same shit the same way, until they either go broke, or find another Elon Musk
They'll go broke. Too much invested in ICE vehicles, too many models, too much internal bureaucracy.
@@jrb_slandLegacy should already be bankrupt though right? Steven said so in 2020 and before 2020.

I’m glad you left in where he says the Lucid has a better hair pin design. Some Tesla RUclipsrs are starting to come around to Lucid. There’s a reason why Cory went to Lucid and it wasn’t just the money. He wouldn’t have moved his entire family across the country if he thought they would go out of business soon. Remember the real enemy is ICE, oil/gas industry.
I am sorry but Lucid didn't have the money to pay Pete $379M. It's an elaborate pump and dump. I am rooting for Rivian, but even they are touch and go (likely to go bankrupt and be bought). Like it or not, the transition to BEVs will be 80% Tesla and the Chinese.
Unlimited Saudi money backing was real tempting I’m sure!
Nope. In the real world the EVs, Hybrids, and ICE (& even Gen Set) vehicles will have a niche where they make the most sense to folks that want to get a job done without the need to virtue signal or show off.
Each technology will try to increase the overlap with the other tech but enemy will be the guy whose factories and designs will put you out of business.
@@GilmerJohn Sure, some people listen to vinyl records and have kept their tube TVs. It's not virtue signaling...it's becoming a commercial inevitable that BEVs will dominate. ICE is mature tech and only minor incremental improvements are possible. With BEVs battery prices are dropping like a stone, not so much for ICE engines.

Great Chanel IMO Max pain today as sellers complete thier good work?
The most important takeaway here is that Sandy, an industrial soldier with a crapload of experience, is absolutely gobsmacked and he reeks of excitement. What would it take to make an old soldier like Sandy so clearly enthusiastic and excited. Speaks volumes.
What is the failsafe mechanism for steer by wire?

Sandy makes me think that: "The best is yet to come".
Maufacturers of future products can learn lot from Tesla when it comes designing the factories of the future. Especially the ones to be built in space...
I've worked in several large organizations and it really isn't the lack of "balls" as much as it is the way people are promoted. If you want to become a VP, you have to suck up to the senior VP's, not disrupt things by asking for resources to pursue an improvement. In addition to communicating how great they are, never ask for anything that they would have to take to the executive committee to decide, and never cause problems. Everything has to come from a vendor because it gives an easy place to point the blame and they come with their own sales force that will make sure that in their presentation to the executive committee they lavish praise on your senior VP.
Sounds like a bunch of people on an ego trip. And the lower ranked employees kissing their ass.

It's part of Tesla's stated aim to electrify the planet.

Yeah, and the thing is there is one thing that gets forgotten: Brand loyalty. Although Tesla is superior in terms of the underlying technology, what I'm seeing on the street in Europe is that people often don't care. They just want their BMW / VW and they still go and buy the same brand.

We know that they have better technology in their car, we know they are more efficient in manufacturing. Not to forget the Energy business with the charging infrastructure, solar roofs. And lastly the AI parts that are promising (if they deliver on it..). But after all said and done, I'm following this channel for 5 years now, and the '5 year horizon' is completely different than outlined then. And yes, things change and you need to adjust but doesn't hurt to be realistic and accept that some things take more time than anticipated to change. Tesla model 3 is indeed the best selling vehicle, but we shouldn't be blind to a certain group of people who are a bit more conservative and stick to certain brands. I have many examples of people I know who just buy the same brand over and over again. As for Germany, good example there, in 2023 Tesla model 3 was the second best selling car (40289 unit)... second to.... Volkswagen ID3 (41475).
