I was like damn, dude went from 0.5 KDR to Pred in 9 months with minimal experience before hand... Same bucket I'm in, so I'll follow these tips and see where it gets me... But I've been playing *too* much, have to ignore some responsibilities to get in as much game time as I do... I've averaged 3.5 hours per day in the last five months, and that's with WFH, covid (not going out as much), and a cold winter. It'll take me almost two more years to reach the amount of hours he has right now.
Not complaining, and I don't expect to ever be Pred, but damn the realization sucks lol.

It takes time and the right steps. Finding these steps can be more difficult than first realized. But is more simple than thought. It takes time and practice.

I was ranked top 1000 in the world on PS3 in COD 4-6-8, I play a lot of dota (still), I used to suck at FPS on PC too, so pretty similar with this guy.
Lowering my FPS is %20 of the progress I guess, so it’s huge. Down side is, my Dota rank immediately went from 4,8k to 3.4k like in 2 months. I doubt that micro ability and aiming is releated. So now I’m playing in higher sensitivity in Dota, lower in FPS, helps a bit, I’m back at 4k.
Playing a lot is obviously a thing. Like %50, so yeah you have to spend a ton of time.
I think having a better friends playing the game is the key. I had 5k MMR friends in Dota and as I play with them, I’ve managed to get 4.8k peak. But in PUBG, Apex or COD, I have no good player friends that I can push myself.
Oh by the way, I used to have 6 yo pc, trying to run PUBG at 30 fps on 1080p. Now i9, 2080ti,144hz 2k monitor and 100mbps internet helps too, probably beyond what you think. Generally speaking in hobbies it’s not the tools, but in PC gaming, I think having a beast PC helps a lot.

You know, I've heard so many people say how you got to adjust your UPI or mouse speed should be minimum or some would suggest better gear or to be aware etc....but i find most of those tips to be just a very miniscule percentage of what it takes to be good at shooters. I use a 5 dollar keyboard, a 7 dollar mouse and my mousepad is an old history textbook from school. I'm too broke to afford anything better, lol. But i still kick ass when it comes to online shooters....I mostly like to play Arena shooters and those shooters demand alot from you in order to dominate the matches!! I got good at FPS shooters purely by practice.
Having one on one duels with the bots from UT 2004 (on godlike difficulty) was the way i went about it. There is nothing more tougher than the godlike bots from UT 2004, they move and play like real pro players and are very hard to kill. After 2 months of practice, clocking almost 3 hours daily, i started beating the bots on godlike, I was confident enough to face other players online. If you can master Arena shooters, then being fairly good at any other FPS game will come as second nature. Unreal Tournament is still active in its latest iteration if you want to test out your skills with other players or Quake Champions is also a good choice (more maps but longer waiting periods).

No every single day like yeah I had tons of girls, good friends, did some drugs, sports, just tried shit to keep my sanity in a positive tone. However, I learned that a sensitivity like around 6-7 out of 20, maybe even a 5 if My aim is off. You need to stay focused, move slow, never rush your fucking shot I can’t stand when my friends do that. And above all when you’re just running reps on games remember to work on shots, you need practice the difficult shots all the time, experiment the tactics that go into these shots, also watch creative videos and try to consciously remember what that person did(not no fortnite shit, like battlefield, cod, maybe siege, and stuff like apex) just comp work. I should get a video up of me just clapping dudes when I’m at my sisters place, her setup makes me completely unstoppable when I play stuff like halo or siege, ever since halo 2 I’ve always just grinded out the big competitive games. Go pro yall, this can be sum fun making money tingz no cap

I gotta say I disagree with some of the stuff. I believe that positioning and game sense is important but my philosophy is that you can have the best game sense but without aim, you won't is hitting any shots. Not to say that game sense is useless, it is extremely important i just believe aim to be a bit more important than it

Game sense useless? Do you even know what is it? It's having a general idea where in the map enemies will be at a given time and when this is going to happen (like when you know enemy spawn time and spawnrape them).

You should let me send you clips. I'm like about to become something incredible. I've been playing 24/7 for years now. I've never tried to have someone help nor tried to compare the pros. I'd rather have someone that really knows the fps. It's weird the because there's times a god and then I just switch to bot mode. And I know I will just continue to slowly progress But ya you should see clips and review them and ya help.
