Passed by where the submarine is "moored" at the weekend. Nearly ran into the bridge with the surprise. What an amazing project, & what a beautiful location right by the old railway embankment (which definitely needs to be turned into a Cavan/Monaghan greenway). The use of the recycled washing machine windows for portholes is a stroke of genius. Perhaps Ollie should be put in charge of sorting out the country's housing crisis - reckon with an innovative brain like that, he'd do a god job. Your Dad would be so proud. Well done, it's an incredible project and a thing of beauty.
Okay, so this won't be floating in "an octopus's garden in the sea" anytime soon, but it's a great little "cabin" or cottage for the garden (above ground)! As for diving: not a chance! It's rain-tight, perhaps, but certainly not water-tight. Ah, but for the kids it's magical place to let young imaginations soar (and maybe they'll let the parents join in!). I'd be proud to have this or something like it in my back yard-- my 5yo grandson and I could explore the ocean depths, or imagine we're an attack sub out to sink enemy ships). His kids are lucky to have that dad!
Such a let down. I thought this was going to be a real working submarine conversion, but it's nothing more than a fancy lawn ornament you can sleep in.
I want to live Full Time in a Mobile Off-grid Lifeboat that moves on/off Road in the USA like a RV/Tank/Home but can and will Float if need be + It will have a Bathroom/Bedroom for use in stopped Traffic + Be Safe/Warm form the Extreme Cold/Ice Age + I also want my Lifeboat/RV/Tank/Home on wheels to be Built for Extreme Over Land Full Time Camping/Living in as my Home + I Love You RUclips A Lot
I have a bit of a similar idea with a convertible Wharram catamaran that could go on land and offer some diving experience, too. Maybe we could connect...?

It's neither. This is a land vehicle now. Think of it as a fancy mobile camper.
