  • UPGRADE YOUR P1P WITH THE BU FACEPLATE
    In this video, I discuss my design process for making the Bu Faceplate and demonstrate how to attach the faceplate to your P1P. Let me know what other plates you'd like me to design for it in the comments!

    As someone that has been learning Fusion 360 for awhile and who also has the P1P, it is pretty neat to see how it was made. Great learning experience.

      Thank you for the feedback! Would you prefer watching me make something step-by-step, or do you like the way I did it here, where I walked through the timeline of an existing design?

      Well, I like the way you did it I don’t think some people understood projection of an object. I finish this print it worked out well. Can’t figure out how to upload a picture on RUclips to you.

      @@madebyjwillis I think for those of us that are dabbling with Fusion 360 the way you did it was interesting. For those that have never used it or don't know what Fusion 360 is they will not know how to extract the parts and modify them to suit their needs will need more of an explanation.

      That’s great feedback - my main goal is to explain how I think about designing things. There’s no wrong or right way, but hopefully people will take some ideas from how I approach my designs and can implement them into their own!

    Thanks for taking the time to make this video and walk us through your process. It really helps. I use all CADs right now as I am learning and this is an importment view to the design process. X1 and p1p.

    Awesome design and a great video explaining it all! Would you mind explaining how you added a pause and swapped filament color?

    • @madebyjwillis
      @madebyjwillis  Год назад +2

      Sure - I’ll do a video or Short on that soon! In the meantime, check the PDF on Printables - I made a step-by-step guide on how you do it!

      M600 is the gcode command to change filament.

    My printer is located higher than a typical desk or table, meaning that the angle of the display is suboptimal.
    If you rework your faceplate or design a new one, it would be interesting for it to tilt vertically.

    • @madebyjwillis
      @madebyjwillis  Год назад +1

      Thanks! If I redo it, I’ll try to make it adjustable

  • @nmfireman

    So the only thing that holds the face plate on is the the LCD screen?

    • @madebyjwillis
      @madebyjwillis  Год назад +2

      There's a plastic arm that is used to hold the LCD screen in place, so the faceplate slides between the LCD and the frame of the printer. It's a snug fit, but it doesn't put unnecessary strain on the screen.

    Will this work with an arc enclosure?

    • @madebyjwillis
      @madebyjwillis  Год назад

      It should! Be sure to put the door on correctly - it’s not symmetric so there is an up/down to it so if it has an overhang then it’s probably on upside down. I know there’s also some mods that make it work even with the door upside down

    nice print for TERRIBLE display.
    They should have charged $30 more bucks and put a decent display on it, like the X1.
