It does amaze me that the bmw interior is preferred to the merc. Merc is 2nd to none when discussing interior and luxury, Not that the bmw doesn’t have a superb interior as well tho.
Mercedes is ideal for soccer moms. However, the EQE 500 range is around 270 miles, not 305 miles as you mentioned. This is less than the range of the i5 I own.
Well that will be kinda hot of a soccer mum .....the range is higher in real life - but it depends also how you drive and temperature of course. The i5 is on my list too though! And I always had BMW´s.

My honest opinion is that the car is great, but realistically, you can't expect to drive it more than 200-210 miles on a single charge when going from 95% to 5%, whether in the city or on the highway. If you have access to charging at home, this shouldn't be an issue. However, if you don't, you'll need to seriously consider this limitation. I can activate the efficient mode with maximum range, but then it feels like driving a 2002 Toyota Prius.

Agree, Mercedes interior is definitely better. Btw, the i5 M60 was tested by MotorWeek at 3.3sec 0-60mph and 11.5 sec quarter mile at 124MPH, BMW always underestimates performance figures.
Thanks for the generosity in comparison of two beloved EVs. I wish you would add a compare cabin quietness. I heard the i5 eDrive40 is quieter than the EQE 350+. And the ride is softer and comfy on BMW. Both are remarkable EVs. I chose BMW, but I wish BMW had adapted a 10-degree rear steering system like Mercedes. But I still like the BMW i5 eDrive40 more and better😍👍.
Regarding comfort in the merc it just depends what spec you go for. The air suspension is standard on the higher ranges and is sublime and on the same range you get the 4 wheel steering. (Premium plus & amg). Comfort doors have been removed tho in the uk.
@@colinbrydon7659 I got a BMW i5 eDrive40. Now they have an xDrive40 with all-wheel drive. BMW stated the driving range is 296-ish miles, but I am getting near 320 miles each full charge. Yes, the cabin is quiet, and unlike BMW's reputation, it is a soft, cushioned, comfy ride😚. I love the quietest cabin and soft, luxurious ride cars. There is only one, Rolls Royce.🥰
@@dorist7280 yup the BMWs are great cars. Your guaranteed quality from both. But it comes down to personal taste and you go with what you want 👍 I had ordered the i4 m50 initially, but decided with the eqe. It was the interior that swung it for me.
@@colinbrydon7659 I considered the EQE sedan before BMW. The seats look gorgeous, but the price skyrocketed when I added a hyperscreen, 10 degrees of four-wheel steering, and other features. It was out of my budget. As you may know, the price of all the brand's EVs are decreasing in the US. I still love EV far more than ICE or Hybrids. EQE and EQS are very attractive cutting-edge EVs, indeed.👍😍
@@dorist7280 I ended up going premium plus so it had the 4 wheel steering and everything accept the power if the eqs53. hyperscreen is so cool but way too expensive at £7k and a further 3month delay. In the uk EV cars are losing 40% of their value within a year. So there’s definitely deals now. I did buy new and had a few months. Wish I had waited as could have had an ex demo Eqs for £20k less than I paid. But definitely happy with everything. Albeit that M50 power would have been awesome.
